Michael Jackson News / Re: Arno Bani - auction - some info.
« on: September 15, 2010, 04:54:01 AM »
It says they are selling "4 unique portraits selected by Michael Jackson" - Since this auction was only decided on a couple of months ago, wouldn't that have been a bit difficult?   ;)

Just looking over them again, Michael is not listed as a Live Show Performer at all, as a dancer or part of the band....    Surely he should be the 'Featured Performer'?  :?  ;)

This Is It / Re: This Is It - The Official Concert Set Lists!
« on: August 25, 2010, 02:44:15 PM »
The setlist on the right was that of Darryl Phinnessee - backing vocalist for TII,
One of the lists is dated 16th June 2009
The used double-headed drumstick is Jonathan Moffett's - drummer for TII

I'm sure that there were many setlists posted by various news agencies, but this was just after the concerts had gone on sale. These are 3 of the actual setlists that were used by the performers during the rehearsals.

Lisa Marie Presley / Lisa Marie Moves to England
« on: August 19, 2010, 05:32:12 AM »

"Lisa Marie, daughter of Elvis Presley, has left Los Angeles to settle in an English stately home near the Scientology HQ.

She moved with hubby Michael Lockwood, 42, and their twin girls to an 8-million-pound pad close to Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

According to pals, the cult member fled America to escape gossip surrounding late ex-husband Michael Jackson.

Her new home is heavily guarded with staff patrolling on quad bikes.

The 11-bedroom pad also boasts an indoor pool, cinema, sauna and lake in its 90-acre grounds.

"She couldn't wait to start a new life in England and felt at home the moment she arrived, " the Sun quoted a source as saying."

This article sticks out to me for one main reason... It says that Lisa has moved to get away from gossip surrounding Michael, however she has moved to the same place in England that Michael would have been staying if he had done the This Is It concerts in London

Other Odd Things / Re: Stevie Wonder concert in Berlin/ Germany

It's not so much "play it because everyone knows it and it's a big hit", more "play it as a personal favourite".

People in the UK use the words Bloody and Bloke quite often too, but he doesnt sound australian

He doesn't sound very English either, but Americans don't use those words. The voice is clearly scrambled.

  Don't mean to be rude, but It's called 'Acting'. When someone reads from a script, they say the words they have infront of them and can put on an accent to suit the character. Hugo Weaving is not English, but he when he played V he said the word 'bloody' and in an English accent, because he was playing an Englishman in the film. He even managed to pull off quite a convincing english regional dialect in one place.

This is all one big act and it's not natural. The main thing in the video that gives it away... Notice at the start of the video there is a Pencil AND an Eraser on the table. At 0.41 the Eraser Disappears! This shows the video is edited together.
The voice over was recorded separtely, and has also been edited and changed. Also the audio level throughout is too high, the voice sounds distorted at some points.

I don't think this person is English. If anything I think he is American putting on an English accent to disguise his natural speaking voice, but also to replicate the character of V. Also it's about America.

When you listen to this person speak, he also struggles to say the words "Bloke" and "Bloody" (even though bloody is being used to describe the battle and not as a swear word) with a natural flow, which would suggest that these are not part of his natural 'everyday' vocabulary. Other words the person says also point toward this person "putting on" the voice of the English character... "mirror".. but the one that gives it away is the pronunciation of the name "ADOLF HITLER". In America it's widely pronounced A' Dolf, where in Enlgand Ad' Olf. This person pronounces it the American way.

There are lots of speech things this person does that show that this person is not English. It also sounds on many words as if the speech is slurred and the breathing is too heavy an not natural. Also the pronunciation is not natural, many of the words have either too short, or elongated endings, dragging out the sylibic sounds, especially 'T' 'K' and 'S' sounds. This person's main speach impediment however, is that they cannot pronounce their 'R' sounds properly.

In my opinion this is not a natural actor doing this. The body movement seems to be awkward and not natural and the clip itself has several clear edits. It would appear that the person is also wearing glasses of some description as there is a clear reflection in the eyes whenever the person moves their head.

It's different to the film however in so much that V got people to gather to replicate an event that had already taken place and was playing the part of a person in history. This person wants to create an event, but has taken a new role, a new person, not someone who already exists in so much that they were previously famous for attempting something. Also he said he was born on July 13th. This does not necissarily mean 'born' in the literal sense. *SPOILER* In terms of the Film, the character of V was born when he was injured in the fire, before that he was someone else.

The speech in this new video, is in large, the main one from the film, but obviously edited to suit this person and whatever it is they are talking about. This is not something the person has written themselves, nor is it personal.

In My Opinion, this is not Michael Jackson, nor does it have anything to do with him.

Other Odd Things / Re: Stevie Wonder concert in Berlin/ Germany
« on: July 14, 2010, 10:30:53 AM »
It's my understanding that Pre-concert songs are usually comprised of songs selected by the Artist themselves and not by a soundman.
I saw Stevie in 2008 and although I can't remember "butterflies" a lot of the other songs you mentioned were deffinately included the pre-show songs

This Is It / Re: TII - out-takes - NEW SCENES
« on: July 07, 2010, 05:43:36 AM »
The thing I don't get from the first out-take video, is why at 4:42 - 4:50 they show the O2 Arena in London, from both outside with fireworks going off and then inside. Also if you look very closely at the inside shot, the big screen on the left hand side of the stage, it looks as though it is showing the MJ AIR video, which is then shown next in sequence in the video and which looks as if it was shot from a handheld camera pointed at the screen!

If these are out-takes from the film, why would it have shots of the O2? They didn't get that far...

It also does take a couple of months for the registration to come through on the records website.
