Perhaps this explains the Yemen earthquakes but raises even more questions. This does NOT look like a volcano. It looks like an explosion that happens to have destroyed a military base.

The western part of the tiny al-Tair island, used as a military base, collapsed following the eruption, the defence ministry said.
