Justin Bieber wants to buy Michael Jackson's former home Neverland
10 Aug 2013 23:59
Troubled Bieb thinks it will help him escape the crazy world of LA
Justin Bieber is looking to buy his idol Michael Jackson’s beloved Neverland so he can escape the madness of central Los Angeles, the Sunday People can reveal.

The troubled pop teen last week sent his team to view the sprawling ranch in the sleepy Californian town of Los Olivios, two hours’ drive from where he currently lives.

Bieb’s management are desperate for him to live somewhere quieter, away from the temptation of nights out and women. They are worried about his meltdown, which has been going on since March when he had a bust up with a British photographer.

The star is looking at four ranches in total, but Justin, 19, has told his bosses he wants to turn Jacko’s old home back to its former glory.

Bieb’s fortune is currently thought to be more than £100million.

A source close to the Baby singer revealed: “Justin has been caught up in a fair amount of trouble lately so the best thing is for him to get out of central LA and live a quieter life.

“His team genuinely fear for him and want him to calm down and be happy. They’ve found the ideal solution, which is to move him to a ranch hours out of the city where he won’t be constantly hounded.

“Neverland is up for sale so it’s a no-brainer for Justin, he would love to live there. Michael Jackson is his idol. The only issue is that it is rundown and would need a fair amount of work.”

Justin, who went off the rails following his split from Selena Gomez, currently lives in a £4million mansion in the LA suburb of Calabasas.

Jacko, who died four years ago aged 50, built a private fairground on the 3,000-acre property, as well as a zoo. It also had a state-of-the-art theatre, a game room, restaurant, swimming pools and even its own fire station.

But the once-opulent estate has gone to rack and ruin since Jacko officially lost it in 2008. A private equity firm bought the £15million loan that he had defaulted on and are now trying to flog it.

Last week Bieber was accused of getting in a brawl with a fellow clubber at New York’s South Pointe nightclub. It was the latest in a string of incidents that have left his friends, family and management extremely worried.

Other Odd Things / Michael and Freddie
« on: July 29, 2013, 07:38:10 PM »
Brace yourselves, music fans, this is big news: Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury have three duets coming out this fall.

The songs were recorded at Jackson’s home studio in Encino, California, in 1983, when both singers were at the height of fame. Queen had released their album Hot Space in 1982 and Jackson was still riding high on the wave of Thriller, also released the previous year.

(MORE: Have Freddie Mercury’s Ashes Been Found?)

The three tracks that the duo wrote and demoed were meant to be included on a full album of duets between the King of Pop and the Queen frontman. Unfortunately, the album was never finished due to the constraints of the two pop megastars schedules. Plus, the relationship between the two may have soured when (brace yourselves again) Michael Jackson insisted on bringing a llama into the recording studio.

Unsurprisingly, Mercury was nonplussed by this behavior. According to an interview conducted with the Times of London, Queen’s former manager, Jim “Miami” Beach claims that Mercury called him and said, “Can you get over here? You’ve got to get me out of here, I’m recording with a llama.” Jackson was also reportedly less than thrilled with Mercury’s behavior during the recording session. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Mercury subsequently fell out with Jackson because the U.S. star objected to Mercury taking too much cocaine in his living room.”

At the time, it was reported that the duo had recorded three tracks named “State Of Shock,” “Victory,” and “There Must Be More To Life Than This,” but the two stars were unable (or perhaps unwilling ) to secure time to record more tracks and finish the planned album. The three tracks eventually surfaced in other forms, but the demos that Jackson and Mercury made were never completed.

“They were great songs, but the problem was time — as we were both very busy at that period,” Mercury recalled of the 1983 session. “We never seemed to be in the same country long enough to actually finish anything completely. Michael even called me to ask if I could complete ["State of Shock"], but I couldn’t because I had commitments with Queen. Mick Jagger took over instead. It was a shame, but ultimately, a song is a song. As long as the friendship is there, that’s what matters.”  It wasn’t until 2011, after both artists had passed away, that Jackson’s estate cleared the tracks for release.

Now, Mercury’s former Queen bandmates drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May are in the studio with producer William Orbit, adding what the Daily Mail refers to as “new guitar solos from [Brian] May along with Queen-style vocal harmonies” to the tracks. May told the Times  that there will be, “something for folks to hear” in two months time.

More than 2 millions people have clicked on the popular YouTube video ‘Michael Jackson alive?! Shocking proof’ and nearly 30,000 people have commented on.

A wide array of the singer’s fans are convinced the video proves conclusively that Michael Jackson is still alive.

Other Odd Things / Music from the King of Pop
« on: June 20, 2013, 06:07:01 PM »
Michael the best !!!  :bearhug: :moonwalk_:

The musical stylings of Michael Jackson will be featured at the 2013 Quad Cities Bank & Trust Riverfront Pops in Davenport.
The announcement was made on Thursday, June 20, that music from the “King of Pop” was selected by the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra. The concert will be Saturday, September 7 at LeClaire Park.
Previous music selections for the event have been the Beatles and ABBA, according to Jared Johnson, the Director of Marketing with the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra. Johnson said those selections were very successful.
“We think the only way to top that is with the ‘King of Pop,’” said Johnson. “We think this is going to be a really popular concert.”
Johnson said the show combines orchestra music and rock lighting.
“It’s music you love in a way you’ve never heard it before,” he said.
Tickets are available for purchase starting Monday, July 1, said the director of marketing. Children 12 and under are admitted for free; for everybody else, tickets are $20, according to the Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s website.
For special discounts and offers, groups of 15 are asked to contact the Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s box office at 563-322-7276 for information.
The Riverfront Pops is part of the 2nd Annual East West Riverfest that runs from Sept. 6-22 in the Quad Cities.

Daft Punk’s New Single Totally Sounds Like a Michael Jackson Disco Jam
Eliot Van Buskirk - Evolver.fm
Fans of forward-looking music have at least two things to be excited about this spring: new albums from Boards of Canada (which is teasing fans with the rarest vinyl released this year) and Daft Punk, whose Random Access Memories is set for a May 20th release.

On Friday, Daft Punk dropped the "Get Lucky" single on Spotify, breaking the company's internal record for the most streams of a single on its release day. Spotify did not divulge how many streams that was, other than that "Get Lucky" broke the record.

You can listen to that above. Once released, the single became weirdly intermingled with the late Michael Jackson in strange ways.

First, people began noticing that "Get Lucky" sounds a bit like a long-lost Michael Jackson disco track, which, sure, it does. Fine.

Main Ixed took that suggestion to heart, pitch-shifting the single so that Pharell's vocals fall into Jackson's range, and pairing it with footage of Jackson, along with a few of his trademark "whoo!" and "ow!" exhortations:

BAD 25 / Bad 25 streaming
« on: December 02, 2012, 12:08:46 PM »
I found this...  :icon_razz:

If you care the slightest bit about pop music, your must-watch list now includes Spike Lee's documentary Bad 25. The film bears the same name as the deluxe silver-anniversary reissue of Michael Jackson's third solo album, which was released (you guessed it) 25 years ago.
Bad had the unenviable task of following up his intergalactic smash Thriller, and while it's an amazing album, Lee's movie does an even better job than the music alone in reminding us what an overwhelmingly talented and hard-working performer the self-appointed King of Pop was.
Lee's movie debuted at the Venice International Film Festival and gets a full DVD release in February of 2013. In the meantime, there's an hour-long cut you can currently stream online by the grace of Hulu.
Bad 25 is more than a mere tribute or companion piece. Moving through the album track by track, Lee unearths some gloriously unusual tidbits that we'd been completely unaware of lo these many years.

Waiting  for this book... I love already !!!   :michael-jackson:

THE KING OF STYLE
DRESSING MICHAEL JACKSON
by Michael Bush

Michael Jackson’s image was as much a work of art as the man himself. Through his music, dance, and fashion, he created a mystique that engaged the senses and intoxicated the soul. Michael was the visionary of his style, and we were members of his cadre: a team of creatives that he personally assembled to help him bring his idea of himself into physical reality. The protectors of his presentation, we, as his personal stylists and exclusive designers for close to twenty-five years, learned through a unique creative process how to channel Michael’s thoughts, wishes, and philosophies to create clothing that would symbolize what he stood for. Dressing Michael Jackson is the first-ever pictorial compilation of the evolution of that process — a visual adventure of our work together.
The King of Style is a collectable, commemorative masterpiece designed to offer fans a glimpse of a side of Michael that they didn’t know before. Through our working relationship and friendship with Michael, we are able to share his personal philosophies, which were always reflected in his style. In The King of Style, stunning never-before-seen photographs are accompanied by endearing untold stories to capture Michael Jackson’s true essence.

Paris Rocks!
She’s been living without her beloved dad for more than three years now, but 14-year-old Paris Jackson has been keeping his memory alive by regularly wearing vintage T-shirts emblazoned with his face on them. And that’s not all the precocious tweeter does to honor her musical heritage. She’s also a devoted rock-’n’-roll enthusiast, something she likewise showcases the best way she knows how: through fashion. Her shaggy-chic hairstyle—courtesy of Beverly Hills stylist Nick Chavez—and printed tees are a testament to her love of rock. See some of her grooviest looks below.

Other Odd Things / Michael wardrobe
« on: October 05, 2012, 05:02:57 PM »
05 October 2012

Dozens of costumes and accessories from Michael Jackson's wardrobe are on display from today at Westfield Stratford City in the only UK stage of a worldwide tour.

Many pieces have not been seen since the singer, who died aged 50 in 2009, wore them on stage or screen. They are from the collection of Michael Bush and Dennis Tompkins, who designed his costumes for 25 years.

Highlights of The Collection of Tompkins and Bush: Michael Jackson Wardrobe include a crystal-covered glove, the Scream video outfit and the helmet from the King of Pop’s 30th anniversary concert at Madison Square Gardens.

Tompkins died in December. Bush, 54, who lives in Los Angeles, said: “Michael gave all of these pieces back to us. Now felt like the right time to share it with his fans.”

The collection is at Getty Images Gallery until November 4. Tickets are £10 at ticketmaster.co.uk

Other Odd Things / Nice idea about Bad 25 celebration
« on: September 30, 2012, 02:44:49 PM »
Look here ...nice !!  :)

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Bad album, Sony Japan launched a special animated music video, featuring the King of Pop's iconic dance moves and an insane amount of t-shirts!

Animator and MJ fan Saburo Hashimoto (known for his work on films such as "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro") hand-painted 1,000 illustrations, over a period of 14 days, to create the flip-book effect seen in the final video.

One thousand MJ fans were then photographed wearing Hashimoto's specialized shirts in an underground parking area in Akihabara, Japan. (The lucky volunteers were chosen at random from a pool of 30,000 applicants.)
