Why is there an auction taking place? The Jackson family and the Jackson Estate aren't exactly hurting for money these days.

As for this painting, I would think that it would not be among the auction items. It isn't some random painting. It is of Prince.  :?:

The blog states it will be part of the Julian Auction taking place. Does anyone know who writes this blog? She has pictures of them taking it away and was there when they emptied the house. This truly belongs to the family and Prince.

This emptying of the house of Michael's belongings took place in September.  Wonder why the family had not removed all his things before then.  Weren't they there with moving trucks in June?  And why auction any of his belongings, especially the ones so dear to him?  Somethings is smelly!

Is there a list somewhere of the items that will be listed in Julien's auction?  My first thought was they were sending it to Michael.

I haven't got too much to say, other than I tried to get this clarified as to whether it was the original or the study for (which is like draft painting first before the final product/painting). It's been discussed on the other forum too.

If you manage to find the correct answer, please let us know. Either way, original or study, I would think it would be something Michael would not allow.

Yeah we're all wonderful, wonderful people
so when did we all get so fearful?
and now we're finally finding our voices
so take a chance, come help me sing this

Looks like it will be the original oil study. I guess the real ones are safely tucked away.

Thanks for sharing the link to the Julien's Auctions catalog.  Wow.  Everyone should take a look through it.  This is an incredible collection, but it saddens me that this was "his" stuff and now they're selling it.  However, it is only "stuff", and when it comes down to it, that's not what's essential and important in life.  Maybe I should begin to clean out my closets, too.
