Lionel Ritchie

  • on: December 03, 2009, 12:08:44 PM
Hi. DId anyone (besides me) notice how Lionel was acting on stage during the memorial? When everyone was on stage at the end singing Heal the World and Lionel looked up , he had a very sour look on his face! His arms were folded!! OMG! He looked ticked off ! Ok Jackie was standing next to him and I forget which other Jackson brother. He was kinda rolling his eyes!!! What do u guys think about Lionel during the Memorial??? Is it a clue??? What was the significance of him and MJ's relationship? Can anyone research this a bit, and upload what you find. U know, like interviews Lionel has given since June 25th maybe we might find something right? I saw one interview with him and he says "MJ was not the person people think he was? " maybe I am wrong but I couldv'e have sworn I viewed this somewhere on T.V. LEt's go team!!! ;)

I've seen one short interview of his prior to June 25. He's speaking of MJ's coming tour and seems very positive. Then i found this:

[youtube:2rtpl8qx]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm9iXvuMsOk&feature=related[/youtube:2rtpl8qx]

from 0:38

... he probably was just p*ssed with paparazzi, but gave me a bad feeling...

seems to me he doesnt want to talk about Michael at all.

this song from Lionel was released on july 27 2008
Wonderful wonderful song !! and HOW much coincidence
He sings it with one of our Dutch greates zingers Trrijntje Oosterhuis.

OK I need someone to upload the memorial at the part where Lionel is clearly agitated he glances up rolls his eyes arms folded (i think) he kinda shakes his head. Is this grief, maybe he just angry over MJ's death or is it something more to it. You guys have got to see this. We need to dig more!!!! more on Lionel because I feel there is a reason for his behavior on stage at the end of memorial!! More interviews surley there is more. :o

I dont know what to make of it. His family seemed happy, his former managers seemed unaffected and all the celebrities acted like it was an award show and nothing else. Its a mixture of bad vibes. And Paris fake tears did not help either.

This has nothing to do with Lionel but I think Marlon cried because he was emotional FOR Michael, that they even had to arrange a fake memorial. Even I would cry even if I knew it was a hoax. I think Marlons tears were real, but for very different reasons than we were supposed to believe.

I noticed that alot of family members kept staring up while being on stage, was there a screen above them so they were watching themselves? I think maybe Lionel was emotional, wanted to cry but hid his emotions or he was pissed over something. I saw someone give him a tap on the shoulder.

I remember watching ET shortly after June 25th where ET showed a brief segment of the interview they had with Rionel Ritchie prior to Michael's 'death'. there, Ritchie said that Michael told him he [MJ] was nervous about the O2 tour and Ritchie said that it was expected as Mikey hasn't toured for a long time. also  Lionel seemed very upbeat and said nothing bad about MIchael and finished the interview by saying he wished he could do more duets with Mike as 'Heal The World was the only one they did 2gether

I agree, I saw that too, and I had thought I was the only one.  He was almost ready to blow up from anger.
The only thing i thought was at the memorial they gave credit for we are the world only writer as Michael.
Lionel Ritchie and Michael both wrote the song together, and Lionel at the memorial was not acknowledged as having any part in the writing of the song.

I'm sorry-but that would just be the dumbest thing to me-for one EVERYONE knows Ritchie and Michael wrote it together and if any new fans don't they will find out when they read anything about Michaels music or look up WATW-I so hope that is not what its about.
I saw the small interview with him before MJs comeback and he was looking forward to him coming back-very positive but said that it had been so long and he knew Michael would fel the pressure just from being nervous..basically.
I think it was in Maurras last vid (MJforeverandaDay) where she combined two short vids of him after June 25th..one he is very happy looking, assuring everyone that "the kids would be fine" and the next was like a few seconds long where they ask if he thinks there was foul play-I think someone posted it above me lol-he is so short and non chalant "no I think it was jsut a sad day you know" (did I get it right?) that just is sooooo weird. Somethin aint right -Lionel Ritchie have a good working history-I don't know how it has been recently..as far as I know there was no falling out like with McCartney. Is Michael not one of Ritchies kids godfather?

I noticed Lionel and he looked quit bored to me. Maybe because he may not sing his part in the original song.

More i think is strange that Paris and kenny (and the rest) seems very happy to me.

I also noticed all the simbols wich came through during the song We are the world...

the more i watch the memorial the more i think this has to be a hoax, it has to be! all those smiling faces, the children smiling and chewing gum, the family hiding under the sun glasses, no no no, this is not normal...i cried my eyes off watching that memorial on TV and i admire MJ, i love him although i never met him...but they knew him, some of them their entire life, he was their family, their friend, all those people on stage...they can't be so peacefull at such a short time after an unexpected death...and they look happy...i cannot believe it...just the thought of never seing him around, never talking to him again...i think he did it for a very good reason and they know it!!!

This brought back memories for me.  I remember at the time of the memorial I was barely functioning in my grief and I couldn't get out of my mind the images of Joe and Katherine's faces, his nonchalant remarks and the video of her shopping and gum chewing in Target.  I remember thinking how incredibly consumed with grief I am, in such a deep depression I can't eat or sleep, never even met Michael or saw a concert, yet had never cried this much in my life over anyone, and I couldn't understand the mild nonreactions from his own family members.

Amen. When Michael ''died'' the world stood still and my world came crashing down on me. I dont think Ive ever been this stricken with grief and sadness and depression, I couldnt even see my TV screen from all the crying and I even cried so hard I was screaming. On top of that, I was using a towel and not paper tissues to wipe off all the snot and tears. I didnt eat and sleep properly for weeks and I was put on perscription sleeping meds to get some rest. Fans all over the world committed suicide one after one. And the family? Not even ONE TEAR. Not one genuine remark of saddness or sorrow. They're up promoting themselves, laughing, smiling, shopping... Its hard to understand. I will say its because they know he is alive, but if he is not, those people have no feelings whatsoever. At first I thought they're just in shock, thats why they cant show their sadness. But come on, a memorial or funeral can make anyone cry, Ive cried at memorials when not even knowing the deceased in person!
