He sounded like he was actually there singing lol but i dont think he could do that if he wanted to keep the death a secret...like it wouldnt make sense that EVERYONE knew he was actually there except the fans this is getting a little over board i think i am strting to just go to the other side slowly...the longer without any clues the more worried i get

In order to find out if he was really singing live, could anybody do a comparison and show to videos in such a way that depicts michael singing in a live concert as opposed to the tribute show? If it sounds legitimate, then I think we can rule that he was singing live, if not, then he wasn't there and it was just the recorded version of Michael Jackson's "Earth Song". I would like to be sure before we could blindly say that it really sounded live. Don't get too excited here.

Guys, if he was singing backstage I am sure SOMEONE on staff at the Staples Center would have leaked it.

Also, if he was backstage in the flesh to support he kids, he would be in disguise.

hmm...so say this were true. How would security not notice someone locked away in some room as they walked by it with someone singing? wouldn't that be a little [too/i] suspicious?  Surely, they would have caught him. I mean theres a voice coming from a random room...

I feel really bad for Prince and Paris. Seems like they were both understandably nervous AND the teleprompter really messed it up. I bet the lines we're re-worked at rehearsal and it threw them off.

I have never heard his voice so clear in Earth Song.  Maybe it was prerecorded during rehearsals?  this reminds me of the extra "S"  in the word "pains" during "will you be there" at the memorial...

I would like to think so. In the past few months the children have been the focus and received much publicity since MJ's death. There obviously not prepared to give speeches, and you have to keep in mind that there young. I still get nervous giving presentations even though i've been through many of them. just a natural feeling I get.
