Clearing up the whole 3d situation
January 26, 2010, 03:39:59 PM
I dont think that the whole 3D thing was for the concert, for smooth criminal ,thriller etc.. because that would of meant giving out 20 thousand 3d glasses, and multiply that by 50 shows and thats 1million glasses, and that would cost a lot of money.

There has to be some other reason for doing it in 3d, wont they be show thriller 3d at grammys?

I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day, but to be honest I didn't know that Smooth Criminal and Earth Song were going to be in 3D too, mainly because in TII we only saw the 3D shooting for Thriller. In the Grammys it will be only Earth Song as far as I know, but this just comfirms the theory that TII was never supposed to be a concert.

Hm IDK, maybe it was just meant for the movie, you know? That these movies were not made for the concert, because the concert weren't meant to take place. So yeah, I think they were made for the movie "this is it" and yeah maybe also for the grammys. But I think it will be the Earth Song in 3D there but I'm not sure..

It was meant to be in 3D for the concerts. Kenny Ortega even talks about it in one of the special features, how 30,000 or whatever fans a night would put on their glasses and be thrust into the action.

Now I'm chillin here with the glasses for the Grammys and I'm wishing they would have included all the short films in 3D with the DVD. I'd love to see how they turned out, especially Thriller!

Are there 3D glasses within the DVD Box or Blu Ray?

Sorry for that off topic question
