People laugh when I explain. And though they may laugh, that doesn't change the fact that it's still the truth.

They influence kids and teens. That is the danger. I don't want my 11 y.o. niece to
go down with 15 older boys because she starts to believe this is cool because her
fave celeb showed that as "oh so hot and cool, everyone gonna love you!" in her music video.
It's okay to do what you want to do when you're adult and do it in your private life. Whatever.
It's not okay to push such life style on your audience which is NOT only adult gays
but 10-14 y.o. children who blindly repeat all the "trends" you set, ANY trends,
as we go lower and darker, trends will be too far really soon. That's all. Not all parents
are good enough to explain their growing kids where art ends and real life begins.
You can be sexy and "iconic" without selling too much graphic sex. We nearly see pornography in
music videos and those who say "Oh, that's a bit too much!" are labeled "judgmental old prudes"
asap and dismissed. I understand that. "Don't watch!" - I really do not. But you come across such
things accidentally and you see kids watching that and "taking notes". Maybe I'm "judgmental old prude" but I don't want pre-teen girls to think this is what woman should be about. I don't
want greedy low showbiz makers to form their young minds like that.

But what about the parents that are good enough to talk with their children and invite discussion on industry influences and body image?  I mean, I think the industry overstretches as much as the next person, but I want free right to choose what it is I am free to watch and not watch.  What some call art, others are offended.   But neither side is more right or more wrong.  I like Rhianna.  Some of her stuff is pushing it, but just because of her current trend doesnt mean I turn totally off of her.  If I don't want to watch something, I turn the channel, or the dial.  My kids and I talk a lot.  I don't shy away from topics such as sex, or God.  I want to be their role model, but they also have the freedom in being who they are.  If my kid is looking to Rhianna or a basketball player or even Michael Jackson as the end all and be all of "role model," I'm failing somewhere.  I KNOW I'm not alone.

Re: Rihanna sais there is no God!!!!!
January 04, 2012, 05:07:23 AM
I worry about Rhianna, that's all. Never said she's "lost cause" or "disgusting one".
She's still gorgeous lady with a voice and moves, but I can't see why she takes it too far
as she is good enough to stay popular without selling sex too much. If she was my niece,
that's how I feel. I worry about her.

As long as most parents are not too good {they are not too good}, it does matter
what the kids watch/see. Usually teens lose connection with parents and go by themselves,
picking up all the wrong role models. And media is more than happy to supply them with such.
Young artists should stay awake and understand who is their audience. When younger artist
turns 35, audience normally changes [adults stay, teens go] and it's time to do more "art"
if they are so desperate to do that "art". But they are not anymore :P and their audience
is already married with kids and doesn't fancy that "art" too much as well.
We can't always blame public for consuming something gladly, some things are being pushed
on public to change us, works faster with tweens and teens. Yeah, parents to blame.
But I do not praise media for happily "taking care" of kids separated with parents
by typical misunderstandings. It's in a way like people selling street drugs to kids who
just wonder around, looking for their way in life.

Call me old fashioned, call me whatever you like, but I still find it inappropriate to call a woman "sexy" or "hot". It reminds me of the Middle Ages and it shows very clearly how men are dealing with that issue. No matter how educated and how successful a woman is in real life, she is always judged by her figure and how "sexy" and " hot" she is. For me this is nothing more but a very clear discrimination. Sometimes "men" hire only beautiful secretaries, or women who expose their bodies. Why??? Because men want to be pleased, that's all. Would it be appropriate for a boss to call his employee " sexy' or "hot"? Would his secretary accept these kinds of descriptions from her colleagues? I have a colleague at work who once told me: "I walk on the street and look at women. If I find a beautiful woman I continue looking at her. And I find an ugly woman I just look away." This is the way many men think. A woman nowadays is nothing but a reason for pleasure, no matter in which country we live in. Men are always the reason for women to act that way. So women use this kind of "weapon" to get whatever they want. This is taught everyday to little children through "artist" like Rihanna and co. Hollywood knows how to mindcontrol people, as sexual pleasure is a human nature after all. So they are using these methods to take control over people's minds. Girls should become sex slaves to please men and men should demand more and more sex slaves. I guess the picture of innocent women does not exist anymore, thanks to Hollywood.

Rihanna is not the only artist in the show business who is behaving this way. This shows clearly in my opinion the system they are following. There is no need to mention who they are...

Lol, love u Adi and Aussie.

Exactly MJFAN4444, it's up to parents and other family members to raise their own children; entertainers are not their parents. I do feel role models are essential in the media, but there is nothing anyone can do if some kids don't have these caretakers. I think as citizens of this world we should all care for eachothers children and eachother more. Unfortunately, this world isn't like that, but atleast we have people like MJ to provide some positivity.

I do think as I've said before, there is an agenda in the media that is dark; but it's up to you what you will or will not take in. And yes, I am aware there are some things we can't control, but no one can hide their children from the harsh realities of the world forever.

Nothing's really changed, in reality. Parents ARE responsible for their children, period.

Look to Disney, Nickelodeon (and Spongebob swill), if you want stuff that isn't going to be sexy. Yet, it will be hyperactive.

Sadly, even in comic books, we've been having a fight with the Porn Industry, thanks to Michael's buddy, Gotham Chopra! Putting out comics based on established porn stars, is NOT my idea of helping the situation.

There are many people, in the movie, tv, music, comics, etc. industries, who do believe there's absolutely no reason to go past the PG-13 self limiter. One of Chopra's comics thought it was cool, by the director, Woo. Suuuure, page after page of cussing and racial slang that offended even me. Bunch of talking heads, that didn't move the story forward.

I can see why Virgin dropped the line, and why Michael's comic never came out. R in violence, many of us will deal with, but not violence towards women or minorities.

So, there are many who do have lines.

I think perhaps, what's going wrong with rock vids is that CDs are going goodbye. Welcome, singles only, and downloads are the future. CDs and DVDs are being phased out, much to even my dismay. Because when I pay for something, I like to own it literally.

Let Rihanna find her place, and be comfortable.

I myself, tossed my TV in 2009, and haven't gone back. I don't watch the mind-numbing junk that resides there.

Black & Proud! I'm like the Oracle/Batgirl, who helps Batman in the comic books. I believe in "Comic Book justice."

Yes, I've seen Michael jutting his hips like Elvis  , and it being called satanic. Come on, Artists are NOT RESPONSIBLE for what listeners do, for goodness sake! Each and everyone on this planet is responsible only for themselves!   /bravo/

Remember the first crotch grab of Michael!?   It freaked out the grownups so badly    , and the rest of the world was giggling that he dare do it  !

Rhianna is a sexy woman, deemed the SEXIEST woman in the world, by MAXIM. Good for her, not enough African-American Women get any sort of awards, without taking their clothes off.

FYI - What signs? You think anybody really puts any thought into that? They see what OTHERS do on TV and the Internet, and go, "Hey, I'll do it too, looks cool!" Simple as that.

Great post ThINK ,thank you very much  respect/  !!!!!
Well it seems that Michael's "crotch grab" is already old news ,cause Rihanna had the best Teacher ,lol  lolol/ !!!! She really "loves" Michael very much  ;) .Why only man are allowed to do it,and not woman, may I ask     ??? What Michael did is exactly the same with Rihanna 's grab ,lol   !!!!!!!

Now it is just me or this last picture seems "familiar",because of the microphone     geek/      ?

Let's quickly take apart the video on the dollar bill, and the stuff on the Illuminati, shall we:
In his book America's Occult Holidays Marquis tries to convince us that Christmas was "an ancient occult ceremony dedicated to the birthday of Tammuz, the son of the cofounders of the occult, Nimrod and Semiramis." Marquis tells us that Christmas was forbidden by the early American pilgrims. Marquis goes on to claim that "Easter... is in fact the celebration of the return of Semiramis into her reincarnated form of the spring goddess" and that "Halloween... is the deadliest holiday ever celebrated in human history... which is dedicated to the Celtic lord of the dead." Of course, Christmas originated out of the old Yule (winter solstice) traditions, not out of the Middle East. Easter is named for the Saxon fertility Goddess Eostre and has nothing to do with Semiramis. Halloween was never dedicated to the Celtic lord of the dead.

Marquis's book Secrets of the Illuminati, encapsulates the disparate elements that he is trying to paste together in his many books and presentations. Secrets of the Illuminati lists various symbols that Marquis has interpreted or combined in outlandish ways using peculiar logic to come up with even stranger conclusions. They all come together in a seal for the "New World Order" which Marquis has created in Secrets of the Illuminati. This seal consists of a triple circle with a Star of David in the middle. In this seal Marquis lists six things: The Illuminati, the Masons, the Black Pope, Rock 'n Roll, the House of Rothschild, and the Two Seals of Our Doom. One of these is placed at each point of this star. Inside the perimeter of the outermost circle Marquis lists: "8 Sabbats, Catholocism [sic], Rosicrucians, Satanism, D&D." Between each of these words is a series of Hebrew letters. Superimposed over the center of this is a three quarter side view of a rectangular altar bearing three symbols: An inverted crucifix and the two sides of the Great Seal of the United States. Above the sigil is the words "I Witch" in red, surmounted by an "all seeing eye" in a triangle. Red blood streams down from the letters i, t and c in the word Witch, around the circle in which the name "Illuminati" is written and onto the top of this altar and overflows out of the lower left corner of the page. One can summarize his interpretation of this seal as follows:

The "all seeing eye" at the top of the diagram, which is described as, the "Eye of Horus," is supposed to be Satan looking down on all the activity being done on his behalf.

NOTE: Remember this one? We encountered the Utchat or "Eye of Horus" in amongst Warnke's nonsense in an earlier article. It is not a symbol of Satan. One of the reasons that people like Marquis go after the Great Seal of the US is that they are misinterpreting the symbols and mottos depicted upon it, particularly those on the reverse side, which depicts an unfinished pyramid surmounted by an eye in a triangle, and surrounded by the Latin expressions Annuit Coeptis and Novus Ordo Seclorum. The first Latin phrase was inspired by the Roman poet Virgil, who lived in the first century BCE. In the Aeneid, book IX, line 625, is the phrase: "Jupiter omnipotens, audacibus annue coeptis." (All-powerful Jupiter, favor [my] daring undertakings.) Also, in Virgil's Georgics (book I, line 40) are the words: "Da facilem cursum, atque audacibus annue coeptis." (Give [me] an easy course, and favor [my] daring undertakings.) Charles Thomson changed the first person imperative "annue" to the third person "annuit." In the motto Annuit Coeptis, the subject of the verb must be supplied, and the translator must also choose the tense. We know that Thomson said: "The pyramid signifies Strength and Duration: the Eye over it & the Motto allude to the many signal interpositions of providence in favour of the American cause." The eye is therefore the missing subject, and the translation of Annuit Coeptis would be: "The Eye of Providence is favorable to our undertakings."

The second Latin phrase, Novus Ordo Seclorum, was also chosen by Charles Thomson. In the fifth line of Eclogue IV, Virgil also wrote the phrase "Magnus ab integro seclorum nascitur ordo." This has been translated in several ways, including, "A mighty order of ages is born anew", "The great series of ages begins anew", "the ages' mighty march begins anew" and "the majestic roll of circling centuries begins anew." Thomson coined the phrase "Novus ordo seclorum", which means "a new order of the ages". People like Marquis chose to mistranslate this phrase as "a new secular world order."

There is no "New World Order," just in the over active imaginings of writers and artists. Need I say more?

As for Carrie Underwood and her legs open? That's pretty amusing. Anyone here ever stood up on a stage in pumps or platforms, in a dress, walk around and sing? It's called, "Keeping balance," "Trying not to fall," it isn't provacative, if you don't get a crotch flash, now is it?

If Michael could grab his crotch   , why does anyone care if a poor girl in high heels and short dress walks around without falling on stage!?

OMG what a WONDERFUL post    respect/  /bravo/  bearhug !!!!
Thank you very much and let me tell you that you are my HERO  ;)  !!!!

CONSPIRACIES: People want to think that there are powerful, secret societies doing all kinds of mischief that affect our lives and destinies. It is not true. People cannot control themselves, let alone other people, for very long.
People believe in conspiracies because they want to believe that someone is in control, even if it is the bad guys; it is better than no control at all.
There are many secret societies that are trying to do this and that, but they are not smart enough, and they do not have enough time or cooperation from others to really do anything besides make themselves feel important for a short period of time. They cause plenty of unnecessary trouble, but that is all.
The greed and need for control that starts conspiracies destroys them. 8-)  ;)

ILLUMINATI: If there is an Illuminati, they are not very illuminated lol   and are nothing to worry about. They do not know the nature of reality, or they would not be trying to control it. They will not be able to change it, no matter what they think.

I am sure everyone would kill me for this but I'll say it:
I never liked it when Michael grabbed his....you know.I don't know why he did it and I can't understand why this move was really necessary for his show. I know he is a very good dancer, but still everyone can dance without grabbing his....... I am a very shy person and every time I see  it i get so embarrassed and shy.  Sorry, but this is just my opinion!!!
Peace
