Brittany Murphy Dies

  • on: December 20, 2009, 02:07:48 PM
According to TMZ:
http://www.tmz.com/2009/12/20/brittany- ... ac-arrest/

Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

Story developing ...

???IS THIS REAL OR A TMZ HOAX???
Is this story being reported anywhere else?

EDIT: Major news organizations are now reporting it.  It appears to be true.

Let's approach this rationally.  Have we learned anything over the past 6 months?   We cannot believe everything we see and hear, right?  We need to put our rational investigative and information-seeking hats on, instead of jumping the gun and believe this story without any concrete evidence.

How do we know that TMZ is reporting the truth?

How do they (the other media outlets) know that this is the truth?

As far as I know, there has been NO statement from the family or MD.

I've found one news source that HASN'T jumped the gun yet:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34500671/ns ... lebrities/

The Los Angeles Fire Department has responded to a 911 call from the home of actress Brittany Murphy's husband.

Fire Department spokesman Devon Gale says the call was made at 8 a.m. Sunday from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to British screenwriter Simon Monjack, who is married to Murphy. Gale says one person was transported to a hospital.

Messages left for Murphy's manager, agent and publicist weren't immediately returned.

The LA Times is now citing law enforcement sources:

Actress Brittany Murphy died early today after going into cardiac arrest, law enforcement sources said. Los Angeles city firefighters responded to "a medical request" at Murphy's home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road in West Hollywood. Murphy, 32, was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Murphy starred in films including "Clueless," "8 Mile" and "Don't Say a Word."
