The Official Negativity Thread - Whine, Cry And Rant In Here

I came here today to cry....a member of my family is severely ill. He´s in hospital right now, battling against cancer. He is only 42 years old and has a wife and 3 minor children. There´s not much hope that he will survive, maybe he won´t even be able to have a last christmas with his family at home.
I really feel that this is a place where pain, fear and the feeling of helplessness is understood, where compassion and love are truly existent despite of this often so cold and merciless world we live in. That´s why I came here today to share my grieve with you.

In the face of inexpressible pain one´s own problems seem so ridiculous and small.....

So...if you feel inclined to do so: please pray for him.....everyone please do.

hi mary. was going to come here to purge a minor irritation and frustration that i am going through at the moment, then i read your post... i then realised that my so called 'frustration' was incredibly insignificant compared to what you and your family are going through... so i 'reality checked' myself...

i genuinely feel so sad for you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. may god give you all the strength of character to get through this most difficult time. and give you peace during your tribulations.

@Aussie...I like what you said to Mary.  It reminded me of this 'story' I came across a long time ago but never forgot:

The Cross Room

The young man was at the end of his rope. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that other door, and pick out any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and he did as he was told. Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible. Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. And the Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

Thank you @Aussie and @BeTheChange...I truly appreciate your sincere and warm words and your prayers.
You know, that family member really has not been able to spend Christmas at home. They brought him home the day before Christmas Eve and he had to go back to the hospital the next morning  :cry:
However he was able to spend New Year´s Eve with his wife, kids and parents and they told me it was a beautiful night with a lot of sadness but so many happy memories and even some joking and laughing.
The battle against cancer goes on.....he´s so frail and tired you know.
Thanks again.....It´s an honor to know people like you.

if there is activity perhaps she is struggling with DH atm....
