Michael Jackson's Mother to Attend Press Conference to Announce International Fan
Katherine Jackson will attend the press conference announcing the first International King of Pop Fanvention where thousands will come to honor Gary, IN native son Michael Jackson
Katherine Jackson, the mother of the late entertainer Michael Jackson will be in attendance at a press conference to announce the first annual International King of Pop Fanvention on March 9, 2010 at 10 a.m.(CST). The press conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel and Star Plaza, 800 E. 81st Avenue in Merrillville, IN. The hotel is just 10 minutes from the childhood home of Jackson.The Fanvention will take place during the weekend of August 26 – 29, 2010.

I still don't understand why the family would go through all of these events and tributes if this was indeed a hoax. Wouldn't they want to keep a low profile, especially Katherine? Don't really understand it if Michael is alive but if he's gone it makes sense :cry: :cry:

This is all of the plan I'm sure. I don't think they like it to go through all the tributes and all but if it's part of the Hoax they would have to. :)

Is anyone thinking about going? I have wanted to visit the family home in Gary, and this seems like the perfect opportunity (sans, the crowd anyway) and the dance lesson does sound like fun. :)
I am curious how much tickets will be. Will find out Monday, as that's when they go on sale.

I was just thinking the announcement is on 3/9/2010 = 16 = 1+6 = 7
and the sale starts 3/1/2010 = 7. But shouldn't it be the other way around. The announcement first, then the ticket sale.

you can kick off the ticket sale prior to any promo action, like an announcement. you just tell the ticket office when you want them launched. it's not connected. you wanna make sure their apparatus is in full swing when you make the announcement, right? :mrgreen:

press conference thing is in march actual fan thing is august makes sense cos he can return before then and the fans will still go cos theyll be celebrating him i think he will be back before august thats why these things are planned for then!!

Oh, I want to go. I only live a few hours from Indiana I need to make sure I can get off of work. It would be awesome if several of us from here could go and we could all meet in person, finally.

hey it says the press conference will be held on 9th march. didn't TS in his last revelation say that 9th march will be an important day of some sort? and that that 9th march will be his next reveal date?

I am so glad and happy i was born in Gary Indiana 48 yrs. ago i live 30 min. away from the radisson hotel i will definately be there will bells on my toe's i never thought i would get the chance to see them and i hope they have a special guest if you know what i mean. :D :D :D

I've heard March will be an interesting month. Some good news about the hoax and some news that will test us. All will be revealed soon, and this is just part of the process.

I can't help but be reminded though, the Jacksons keep promising things to the city of Gary and then never follow through. There seems to be a track record of behavior with broken promises regarding Gary. I don't have any idea why, except to say that Gary's political system is fairly... uh... screwed up, so I do wonder if that has something to do with it.
Examples of broken promises: Michael Jackson dance accademy promised, never happened. Grant for Michael Jackson museum, never happened. Commemorative plaque at the family home site, never happened.
If you go to the family home in Gary, there is ZERO way of knowing that it is the childhood home of the King of Pop. It's quite odd. Not even a simple little sign. Nothing.
Not that it matters or means anything, just random thoughts.

Seriously, if I went to this, I would not hesitate to ask the question as to wether he is alive. The look on their faces would give me my answer. I may be a female but I can grow a set if I need to!!!

It IS sad.....I think the Jacksons are very aware of their beginnings and where they come from and have never turned their back ontheir old neighborhood, so I dont think it has anything to do with broken promises on the Jacksons part...its probably like Bec said....the political system is screwed up.

That's pretty keen observation. There are other celebrities whose hometowns have all sorts of markers to let visitors know that someone famous once lived there.
There should be Michael Jackson dance studios and music schools located throughout the state for goodness sakes. :lol:
