Title: Sony’s New Slogan: Clue or Coincidence?
Post by: WhiteNight on January 29, 2010, 04:22:01 AM
Hey guys!

I went out to purchase ‘This Is It’ on the 26th of January, 2010 and when I got home I noticed something really interesting.

But before I go into that, I would like to quote something that was posted on youtube by a member by the name of ‘alltheinjustice.’ This individual claimed to be Michael and many people were posting hateful things on his channel to discredit him. So he ended up posting an interpretive audio video to try to prove it. But people still did not believe him. However, there were a few that did believe.  He then deleted his account but before he did that, he posted a long message.

Now I’m not trying to make people believe that this person was actually Michael (deep down I really believe that it was him) BUT the things that he said were quite insightful.

I will not post the full message here but I will post a small portion of it as it is pertinent to what this whole post is about in the first place.

Here is an excerpt of that message:

>>>

“Sony are not as bad as you may think,
I wouldn't allow that. The new slogan has been done for a purpose.”

>>>

Slogan can best be defined as a motto, saying, jingle, catchphrase, or watchword.

I’m not sure how new this slogan is for Sony but please take a look at these photos that I have taken of the ‘This Is It’ DVD (this is also on the BlueRay Disk):

Here’s a closer look. Notice the slogan under the Sony Title:

make . believe

This is just too much of a coincidence for me…I personally don’t believe in coincidences because I feel that everything happens for a reason.

And no one needs to tell me not to get my hopes up because they are not. I’m a level headed person and I’m not that fickle. I am not easily convinced by things. I like to find stuff out on my own and I do not believe anything I hear or see. But I must say that this is the first time in my life that I have really followed my heart. I never would trust it up until now. This is strange for me and I hope that what I have just said in this paragraph does not sound too harsh. If it does, I’m really sorry. It’s just that I’m so used to be being criticized and maimed for what I believe pertaining to this whole thing. Either I’m called ignorant because people think that I am in denial about Michael’s death (which I’m not) or I’m accused of disrespecting Michael by thinking he could do such a thing.

I’m sure many of you can relate to this.

Now, I do not know that much about Sony and I have no idea how long they have been using this slogan.

I just would really like to know what you guys think about this particular ‘slogan’ that just happens to be on the ‘This Is It’ DVD.

I remember the slogan was first out right at the time of "This is it" Movie premier (Oct. 28). I watched it at Sony Center in Berlin and there were giant placards and billboards all over SONY make.believe

And yes, no coincidence, I think ...

Just a coincidence I think. Not everybody can be in the hoax.
All the big companies change their slogans ones a while, to me the Sony slogan has nothing to do with Michael, just with their products.

Does anyone know if the slogan "make.believe" was used on any other Sony product prior to TII? If it was then I'm inclined to think it's a coincidence, if not then possibly intentionally.

No mean to be rude, but I think that is not an anagram (by definition)...

I certainly think the slogan change is odd: "Make. Believe."
Why not come up with something more interesting for the word: "make"....like "create", which is more colorful to me than "make."
"Make. Believe" is much too odd, even if it is a nice catch phrase, in my opinion, to be a mere coincidence....I think it was created for intent------it means something significant.
Does anyone suspect that MJ acquired all of Sony at any point and is controlling the business/marketing direction now?  I do think it is quite interesting to hear of the story parallels to MJ in recent movies.......2012, Avatar etc.  After all, couldn't this be what has been implied by "this is not it" statements by his brothers and also stated on the "This Is It" film, "Discover the Man you Never Knew". Has anyone discovered that man?  Personally, I hadn't discovered anything I didn't already know or expect from the genius and wonderfully talented man that MJ is in that musical documentary. I suspect that it implies something much much more and that is yet to come.

Hm, I don't think it's MIchael

Did I hear a little accent in that voice or am I the only one?

It's hard to listen to it here, even with my headphones, cause my boyfriend plays "COD" in the background

I don't think so, when Sony change their slogan then it apears in EVERY Sony products and Cd's and DVDs too so look after CDs and DVDs released by Sony after 03/11 I'm 100% sure that there is make believe

For example look after that girl Ke$sha she's from Sony

Thanks for you input everyone!

Thank you so much for the link Believe 777!

Melzy 777: I happen to find it to be way too much of a coincidence that this slogan was launched on September 3rd which happens to be the day for the funeral. lol

It's important to remember that Michael happens to own half of Sony. Those in the company itself would probably not be in on it because that would be very risky. But MJ is most certainly capable of having plants in the company that may be involved with the creative control of Sony. This is just a thought though. But who knows...this may be right on the mark.

michaelsupporter: I totally agree with you! that makes a lot of sense!

The Jacksonologist: Oooh! Let me send you a PM!

As for the video. I would not be so quick to call it a fake. Some will say so because they think that it does not sound EXACTLY like him. We all sound different under stress and in different situations. I will take heed to Michael's message and have an open mind.

Purelove: I think you are referring to Dom, the one who claims to be from the UK. That in itself is interesting. I find it strange that this guy is from the UK. He sounds very American to me. I think that it is possible that Dom may be Michael. It's funny how his song called D.S. is referring to the DA that tried to ruin him. He calls him 'Dom' rather than 'Tom.' Michael loves to play games. Although I do not believe that Michael would ever admit to being Dom just like he may never admit to impersonating Dave Dave, attending his own memorial as ‘hatman’ or the blond lady. I'm not saying that he is either of these characters but I know that if I was him, I would not admit to being any of these people. It's all in fun and he's probably enjoying every moment of it.

I can say from experience on this one.

I used to be really into anime and cosplay (I still love to cosplay and make costumes) I would go to anime conventions where there are others who are also deep into cosplay.

Cosplay is a word that comes from 'costume' and 'play.' You put them together to form 'cosplay.' Cosplay is the works. > Costume, make-up wig, accessories etc.

Anyway, I'm female and I love to cosplay as male characters. We call this crossplay. It's a lot of fun and it's even more enjoyable when people can't figure out if you are male of female. It's crazy fun and it's much more fun when you leave them guessing. The same applies to all of the costumes I have ever done. I look like a TOTALLY different person in each one. Only those who know me very well know of all of my costumes and they are able to spot me. As for others, they just stare and talk among themselves trying to figure things out. To me it's a game and I love to be the player.

I think that's how Michael sees all of this. He's playing and having a lot of fun. But in doing so, he is also striving to bring a message across. A message of L.O.V.E.
