After some listening, I conclude Michael doesn't sing "THIS IS IT" !

It's not his voice, this voice, is more "nasal"

well the song was recorded in the late 70's early 80's so his voice is going to sound different.  we would need a sound analyst to compare his voice

Yes, but if he is alive, why not re-record the song ?
Like"Will you be there" for the memorial

I'm sure it's his voice. And do you think it's good idea to re-record an old song? It's better to focus on new materials than just reproducing the old things. :)
