Donald Glover is an actor/singer/rapper/comedian/producer and director.
For those who don't know, he writes, directs and stars in Atlanta, a series popular in the US.
In one of the episodes, he has a character, wearing prosthetics, who was supposed to be based on MJ. If anyone wants to watch the episode it's series 2 episode 6. It's a very interesting episode which talks about 2 Michael Jacksons. It's very dark and creepy. Here is a clip from the end (spoiler obviously):
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=06WBWEeoGFk
There are many theories as to what this all means but the one that made most sense to me was posted in the comment section on YouTube:
"Teddy is the Michael Jackson that the world knows, the one who the media claims was “weird, creepy, and messed up”, the MJ who dominates headlines because of rumors that float around him
Benny is the real Michael Jackson, the one who was painfully and irreversibly hurt. The one who underwent so much bullying in his life (either from his father or the press) that he was too ashamed about what he looked like and what happened to him that he never came out of hiding. He was the scared MJ.
Benny kills Teddy because he’s the fake MJ and Benny is tired of his being alive (aka the real MJ tries to kill the fake MJ/rumors that the media created)
Then Benny/Michael Jackson kills himself because he can’t take it anymore. He’s carried too much pain.
Idk it’s just a theory, but I do think the writers/directors of the show were trying to make us think deeper about Michael Jackson and the double life he reluctantly lead."
Now, interestingly, the character Teddy turned up at the Emmys last night:

At first, people thought it was Glover, but he was seen elsewhere in the audience:

It's worth noting that Childish Gambino often makes references to MJ, like in his recent music video, which referenced all of the black artists that were relevant in 2018. MJ appears at the end.

In Atlanta, the Teddy character, who is supposed to represent Michael Jackson, is the only character to not have the actors name in the end cedits. Instead, it says he is played by himself:

And of course, the TMZ article!
"DONALD GLOVER
Creepy 'Atlanta' Character
TEDDY PERKINS CRASHED THE EMMYS
Donald Glover's creepy mansion dwelling, Michael Jackson-esque, character from his hit show, "Atlanta," made a surprise appearance at the 2018 Emmys -- except Donald wasn't behind the makeup.
DG and the rest of the "Atlanta" stars were in attendance Monday night, but so was Teddy Perkins ... who nearly killed Lakeith Stanfield's character in season 2. On the show, Donald played the role of Teddy, but at the Emmys ... this group shot sparked a mystery -- WHO'S WEARING THE MAKEUP???
Everyone assumed it was Donald until the photo made it clear that wasn't the case. Tuesday morning, comedian Jay Pharoah started taking credit for the appearance -- which would make sense, since his 'SNL' buddies wrote and hosted the Emmys.
If you haven't seen the show yet, here's an example of just how damn freaky Teddy Perkins really was during his brief stint in "Atlanta." Spoiler alert ... RIP, Teddy.
"Atlanta" had a pretty solid night with 16 nominations and 3 wins ... including Katt Williams' for his role on the series.
We got Katt after the show ... with Emmy in hand."

Nobody has admitted to it as far as I'm aware.

My thought is that Atlanta writer Jamal Olori isn't Teddy Perkins either. His teeth and earlobes don't match "Emmy" Teddy Perkins I can't add a comparison pic but Teddy and Jamal's earlobes are shaped different on the bottom. Jamal's is attached and Teddy's hangs
-
I agree, it's not Jamal either. Jay's face was the closest of all the suspects but he didn't quite match up either. Plus he was photographed that night without ant makeup and denied it was him.

The telltale scar on the bottom of "Emmy" Teddy's lip is a dead give away. It's the same as MJ's

I agree! Thats MJ behind that mask and he's getting bold!

Question: Why wasn't it better hidden under make up?
We can see where it starts from the difference in color. Was this fine line left visible on purpose?
And those jaw lines!

Great comparisons Sim. And yes that is without a doubt a prosthetic nose, you can see in the close up quite clearly.
The side profile is quite obvious. They eyes are a give away, even with contacts.
I'm pretty convinced it's MJ at this point.

Brian Tyree Henry Still Doesn’t Know Who Played Teddy Perkins at the Emmys
The "Atlanta" co-star says he's perfectly fine letting the mystery be.
It’s been over seven months since the “Atlanta” Season 2 episode “Teddy Perkins” unleashed one of the biggest TV discussions of the year. Pored over and unpacked, both thematically and logistically, both title character and the episode itself have been shrouded in a layer of secrecy and uncertainty ever since it aired in early April.
That confusion only grew exponentially at this year’s Emmys, when Teddy showed up in the audience. Though eagle-eyed viewers spotted him in the crowd, photos later surfaced of this Teddy with the regular “Atlanta” cast, including Donald Glover, who played the character in the original episode.
Apparently, Glover’s co-star Brian Tyree Henry still doesn’t know who it was that popped up on awards night. In an interview on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” to promote the upcoming release of “Widows,” Henry told Meyers that he still has no idea who it was under the makeup at the Emmys.
“I don’t want any part of it,” Henry said. “I was sitting next to Zazie [Beetz] and I looked at her and I was like ‘Is that Teddy Perkins? So where’s Donald? Oh, there’s Donald right there.’ She’s like, ‘It’s gotta be Keith.’ I was like, ‘Keith is behind you!’ So we all started this group thread and said, ‘Who is Teddy Perkins?'”
It’s been a busy year for Henry, who in addition to his supporting turn on “Atlanta,” was also nominated for a Tony for his work in the revival of the Kenneth Lonergan play “Lobby Hero” and will have a busy fall on the film side as part of “Widows,” Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk” and the upcoming animated feature “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
