Yeah there was an earlier thread on this. It was picked up where the register signs the initals VE on Michaels & VD of both Brittany & P.Swayzes.  Been searching for what those codes could mean and haven't had any luck yet.

Maybe VD could mean "Verified Document" and VE on Michael's could mean "Very Entertaining"... gosh who knows

Does anyone know what the codes VD & VE stand for?

Here are many abbreviation descriptions for VE (as on Michael's DC)
http://www.acronymfinder.com/VE.html (http://www.acronymfinder.com/VE.html)

And here for VD (as on Brittany's and Patrick Swayze's DC)
http://www.acronymfinder.com/VD.html (http://www.acronymfinder.com/VD.html)

I have no idea actually.

I read, this DC was officially RELEASED? Not leaked. Is that right?

Does Jonathan E. Fielding sign ALL DCs? This man must be busy...

An informational copy can be obtained by anyone.  All informational copies of death certificates or most anyway [ depending on the years covered and the state] have blacked out areas.  There's no such thing as officially released.  If it's in the system, it's in the system.  You can order one yourself.

Jonathan Fielding does not sign these himself.  That is most likely a signature stamp used by a person with the authority to use it.  If I had to guess and it's just a guess, I would say the other initials are those of the person that printed the document and stamped it.
