One irate Michael Jackson fan is suing his Estate because she thinks MJ was not the lead singer on 3 of his songs on the 2010 CD, "Michael" ... the first release after his death.

The woman filed the suit today in L.A. claiming she bought the disc in 2011, but didn't hear enough Michael on 3 particular tracks.

In the suit she claims she hired an audio expert to analyze her CD and he determined it was very likely that MJ did not sing lead vocals on "Breaking News" ... "Monster" ... and "Keep Your Head Up."

The woman wants this to be a class action -- meaning if the allegation is true the Estate would owe money to everyone who bought the full album, or any of the 3 tracks in question.

The Estate's lawyer, Howard Weitzman, has previously said Michael did provide lead vocals for all the tracks on the album.

The Michael album is still for sale in stores today, 2014.

I'll be interested to see if this story goes anywhere. I'm actually surprised it took this long for some crazy fan to sue.

OMG! Here we go again! LOL :thjajaja121:
Someone wants to comeback to the discussion... About all of the work released after MJs death, not just that album in particular, I think! looool Do you think that it's just because of  this album? Of course not! It's deeper than that!

The truth of numbers:

- 3 tracks;
-2010/2011->7

If they comply with this demand, will have a long list of applicants.
the question here is, if it is a disappointed fan or a fan looking for money. She will have to prove that MJ is not what is heard on three tracks.  :icon_e_wink:

I'm pretty sure Michael isn't on the lead in those 3 "Michael" songs. The past is the past. Interestingly enough, I believe we get something special on Xscape. The original version of Love Never Felt So Good is clearly without a doubt TWO voices. I sing and I know the difference between stacking and a duet. Give it a listen and tell me what you think. Remember the back of This Is It? "always great to sing with my brother."  ;D

Which original version are you talking about? Xscape is Michael's voice, one may think it's different because the songs were mixed that way.

Im talking about the one with just piano. There are clearly two Michaels singing at the same time. They even speak to each other at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=HPDzTieZwtc

That's just chorus. Michael sang that thing twice and they layered it one on top of the other.  That's all. Thanks for adding the link btw.

I figured most people would think that. Listen to it with head phones. You can hear the other voice quite clearly making sounds and overlapping. Trust me , if it were stacking it would be in harmony like the Timberlake version. @Souza feel free to move this to a more appropriate forum subject.

As far as I understand you are saying that in a chorus all of the voices involved would be similar and in sync and the demo of Love never felt so good, isn't that way, i.e one of the two voices isn't singing the same as the other one. did i understand it correctly? If yes, my answer to that would be Michael sang the same line twice, and put them together and thus the difference. (he didn't duplicate the audio, he simply sang it two different times)

For example, the song Leave me alone (it's not the apt example but i couldn't think of anything else)
Quote
The song is set in the key of Gb Major with Jackson's voice range being sung from Bb3 to Ab5.

Michael layered his voices of different ranges in 'Leave Me Alone', there's actually a quote explaining the composition of the song, i don't know where it is. Anyway, LNFSO also uses the same idea, more or less.
