I haven't noticed if someone have allready posted about this, but the Estate of Michael Jackson will announce something big after 9 a.m in michaeljackson.com. I don't believe it'll be anything that big we hope but surely the date isn't accident from estate ;D

I know it's obvious, but the most interesting part of this for me is the name. The Estate just happens to choose this song to name it after.
I thought this would have set off some warning bells to those who think he's dead, cause it seems most insensitive for The Estate to release a posthumous album titled 'Xscape' when the artist is presumed to have died by such a messy and horribly ludicrous scenario. But then again, if people can swallow the 'official' stories about the 'death' of MJ, then they possibly will not even bat an eyelash at the name of this new album. :icon_e_confused:

MJWN has had the opportunity to speak with the 42 year old London designer Mat Maitland, the creator of the brand new artwork for the upcoming Michael Jackson album ‘Xscape’ and the Creative Director for Big Active Design. He tell us the background to the project, his inspirations and how it was made.
How did it come about that you worked on the ‘Xscape’ album?
Word must have got out that I was a huge MJ fan! We (Big Active, design co) were approached by Sony.
How many designs did you create for ‘Xscape’?
I created about 10 cover ideas.
How was the artwork made? Was it based on a photo?
It’s based on a photograph given to me by The Michael Jackson Estate; it’s a fairly recent image of Michael but like I say, it’s based on that image and uses parts of it.
Was there anything in the design process that you particularly wanted to achieve?
It was really important to everyone (including myself) that the cover felt like a new Michael album, something he might have done today, rather than a retrospective image that may have looked like a best of. I really wanted to capture the magic and power of MJ but also his vulnerability.
Where did you draw inspiration from for the ‘Xscape’ artwork?
I wanted to evoke a contemporary and quintessential incarnation of Michael as an artist who constantly injected new blood into his music and also to focus on both the intriguing and futuristic aspects of MJ. As well as being a tribute, I hope that it will inspire reflection on a man who continues to stimulate and offer unique creative musical possibilities to so many today. I also tried to say that Michael is all around us, in our universe and beyond, on earth and in outer space.

What’s your favourite album cover from Michael’s back catalogue?
‘Dangerous’ because it was such a knowing image that acknowledged and commented on the world Michael had created for himself, good and bad. It kind of carried on the theme of the ‘Leave Me Alone’ video as that was the last track on ‘Bad’ and then this was the album after that. It has so much detail in it which was unusual in the times of simple CD covers (although the eyes held your attention). Also, I like that it was true to Michael’s vision whereas on ‘Bad’ (and ‘Invincible’) the label stopped him from using the images he wanted. Actually, coming back to the eyes, this was a big influence on the cover I created for ‘Xscape’ – the magnetic stare, always looking at us.
How does it feel that your artwork is about to be owned by millions of people around the world and will be a part of iconic pop history for years to come?
It’s been a lifelong dream to create a sleeve for Michael Jackson and I feel honoured to be asked to do it. Even if I wasn’t a fan it would have been amazing but as a huge fan it makes it even more special. I hope that the fans like the cover. I’ve heard the album and it’s really amazing!

o.k., I KNOW this is going to sound extremely super craaaazy :Pulling_hair: (but, :WTF:) i remember looking at an interview with jermain saying mj is safe now and no one can get to him or hurt him (going off my memory) that he is safe now. he didn't come off as sad due to dying it was more like hidden/gone. and i thought well what is he off planet. now with the universal (pattern) looking clothing and talk of wormholes brought the memory back. yeah crazy i know. but for me it's o.k. i like to keep an open mind. i tried to find the vid but there are way too many - not much patience. can u beLIEve it's been almost 5 yrs (and we're still here)

Yes, it's almost 5 years now... i can't even think about it being real. I mean, if someone told me i'd be in this for 5 years...i would have laugh so hard. But yes, here we are, here i am.
I guess only love can stick for so long, upon nothing almost, few shadows seen here and there, and this crazy hope to finally see "that someone" soon again.
Or maybe we're all nuts, or maybe neither of you exist and i'm alone in my padded cell, living in a fantasy since my brain lost it after june 25th...(which would sound sometime like a good explanation lol)

o.k., I KNOW this is going to sound extremely super craaaazy :Pulling_hair: (but, :WTF:) i remember looking at an interview with jermain saying mj is safe now and no one can get to him or hurt him (going off my memory) that he is safe now. he didn't come off as sad due to dying it was more like hidden/gone. and i thought well what is he off planet. now with the universal (pattern) looking clothing and talk of wormholes brought the memory back. yeah crazy i know. but for me it's o.k. i like to keep an open mind. i tried to find the vid but there are way too many - not much patience. can u beLIEve it's been almost 5 yrs (and we're still here)

thanks for saying i'm not loco :icon_razz:. i remember seeing on the news or something that if u pay a kazillion dollars ( exaggeration - but it might as well be - it was A LOT, u can take a trip thru outer space). they claim this in a few years. (that would be a dream come true to be out in the galaxy looking at the creator's creations). since it's claimed the technology they have is 50-100 yrs further along then they let us know about, it could be happening now. if u research black budget projects it's said they already have been there. there are these things called a jump room & space elevator (research) that make far out claims. i've always been intrigued with the "so called" unknown and unanswerable. it's also said that intelligent beings live inside the planets not on the surface, due to the elements. some say earth is hollow with a hole at the north and south pole & a inner sun & beings. (research adm richard byrd) the ancients called this place shambala. this inner sun is what causes the aurora borealis.( differnt color lights coming from earth into the sky.) i don't know if all of this is true, but one thing that is said by "other beings" is- they don't understand why we kill our own kind and have to pay to live on a planet we were born on. true or not that makes perfectly good sense to me.

That would signify a NEW BIRTH for Michael, a NEW BEGINNING and possibly a Come Back date, but I'm NOT holding my breathe waiting. MJ changes his mind often and will plan to Comeback and change his mind the last minute. But this looks like the plan for today!
