Michael Jackson Estate Scores a Major Win in Court

The Michael Jackson estate has won a major victory in court. The executors have triumphed over Howard Mann, the Canadian business man who published a book of photos with Katherine Jackson without the estate’s permission. Mann also purchased a boatload of souvenirs and Jackson family memorabilia from a warehouse owner in New Jersey. Among the items were tapes of music by Michael Jackson. Mann claimed ownership of the copyrights of those tapes even released a song from the collection. Now, with a summary judgment, the court has ruled against Mann. He’ll have to shut down his Jackson websites, especially the one selling the book of photos. Mann took a bath on that book, too. He has cartons and cartons of them somewhere. More to come…

Here’s a statement from Howard Weitzman:
A Federal Court Judge ruled today that Howard Mann cannot exploit intellectual property created by the late Michael Jackson, including trademarks, copyrights, name, likeness and image.
These assets are owned by the late singer’s Estate for the benefit of his children and mother. The Court found that Mann and his entities improperly claimed to own the assets, and intended in bad faith to profit from them using his various websites. Zia Modabber, one of the lawyers who represents the Estate in this matter states “The Court’s ruling makes clear that Howard Mann had no right to use Michael Jackson’s intellectual property for his own benefit.” The Court ruled that Mann and his entities in fact do not own any of Michael Jackson’s intellectual property and should be permanently enjoined from unlawfully using Michael Jackson’s intellectual property in the future.
Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for the Estate indicated that “The Court’s ruling means that a trial set for September 4, 2012 will involve how much in damages the Michael Jackson Estate is entitled to collect from Mann and his various entities.” The Executors of the Michael Jackson Estate are extremely pleased with the Court’s ruling which prevents Mann from continuing to unlawfully profit from Michael Jackson and his intellectual property.

What can we do to help this??????? Can someone leak it to. Media sources so people will dig further!!!!! Just an idea as I am trying to find a good way to bring more light upon the will and have people look more into it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could also be MJ trying to expose those in our judicial system who are crooked etc...........

I have a really basic, almost stupid question.....
But wouldn't all this stop if Michael would just bam.....
if he shows up, the will is no longer needed. He
has the power to change his own will, if in fact
he doesn't want any particular people involved with
it....or am I nuts here?
So that's why I guess I am just going along for the
ride.......the hoax is a deep woven, complex thread
of inconsistencies, double-speek, double-takes and
old-fashioned WTFoosball moments. Why would the
issues with the will be any different? Michael is in
control....aren't you Michael?

I think we are only trying to figure out possible "procedures" that will lead the way to BAM.
Like: how is the "stage" going to be prepared, what will be the prelude.
In this particular case I think maybe the whole thing was aimed at Howard Mann to right a wrong :icon_e_wink:

Maybe he was just totally clueless and executed hoaxy tasks without his knowledge.

I thought it wasn't the WILL being contested in this hearing, just the claim of unlawfully using MJ's name, property, pictures etc without valid consent from the estate...
I'm thinking.....Just how good these executors are...infact, they are just too good and it seems like they are getting alot more help than what we are led to beLIEve . That leaves alot of questions to be answered...As someone else has mentioned, this must go further up the ladder....
Which would suggest the Court judges again....Remember, they can be bought..!!
But on the other hand, if Mann was corrupting the estate, and using Katherine, then I am happy.

2good, Mann’s attorneys recently wrote in court filings that they hoped to introduce evidence during the upcoming trial that Michael´s will is fraudulent.
Well obviously their hope was in vain.

I have read elsewhere that quite possibly Mann's project was structured more to line his pockets than Katherine's but I don't know that to be gospel. The article or blog came from one of the most vocal (and nasty I'm afraid) anti-Estate support groups. Even though I completely find their actions very distasteful I do read the info they offer up as "proof" that the Executors are actually evil incarnate. Every once in a while there seems to be a little golden nugget of possible fact hidden in all their hyperbole. This guys background seems to be full of less than honorable actions and deeds so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this turns out to have been a huge con. The writer of the piece I read even hinted at the possibility that he'd garnered his partnership with Mother Jackson through blackmail. Who knows though until this all comes out in the rinse cycle...lol. Unfortunately this latest still leaves the possibility that Mann is the bad guy...or the Executors are...possibly with a Judge in their pocket.
