Michael Jackson Estate
Back Up for Sale -- $23.9 Million

The house where Michael Jackson died is up for sale ... again ... for a whopping $23.9 million.

The estate went on the market Monday and we've learned a "major celebrity" will look at it tomorrow.

We're told the realtor -- Mauricio Umansky, the CEO and co-founder of The Agency in Beverly Hills -- will ONLY show the property to serious buyers who have pre-qualified ... which means they have the dough to buy the property.

The 17,000 square foot house -- which has been on and off the market since MJ died -- is completely empty. It has 13 bathrooms, a pool, guest house and an elevator.

Sheesh....Michael never owned the place, he just rented it. So why are they calling it "Michael Jackson estate"?

Wonder who the "major celebrity" is!?
Who would want to live there anyway?

And two other interesting links...

"The notorious Holmby Hills house where Michael Jackson died is back up for sale, yet again and with a tiny little priceup. The house has been on and off the market since 2008 (with a starting price of $38 million), and was renting to Jackson for $100,000 a month when he suddenly died in June 2009. Last fall, owners Hubert and Roxanne Guez (Hubert is the CEO of Ed Hardy) sued the woman who sells star maps down the street, saying she and her customers were scaring away potential buyers (we can think of a few other scary things they might want to sue first, but whatever). The house was designed by Richard Landry and built in 2002 on 1.26 acres. It has seven bedrooms, thirteen bathrooms, a theater, an elevator, a spa and gym, and a guesthouse. In December, many of the furnishings (including a “pair of obelisk and urn form table lamps” and a “Parian marble statue of a peasant girl”) were sold at auction. Now the house is back on the open market for the first time since last summer–it was last seen asking $23.5 million; it’s now asking $23.9 million."

More Haircutting While Chasing the Market Down

"Last Sunday we looked at a feature from Zillow Blog: ten expensive home sales in 2010 from all around the country.  Today we take another look at more hideously high-priced homes across the nation, only these still haven’t sold.

"Michael Jackson’s Rented House – Holmby Hills (Los Angeles), CA

Original Asking Price: $38 million (April 2008)

Reduced Asking Price: $28,995,000(August 2010)

Current Asking Price: $23.5 million (October 2010)

Haircut so far: –46% ($14.5 million)

Yes, MJ was the tenant here, not the owner.  It’s just your basic 17,100 square foot 7 BR/13 BA French Chateau designed by Richard Landry off Sunset Boulevard.  Has the usual guest house and private cinema.  Ho hum.  Last sold for $18.5 million in 2004, and may very well sell for something a lot closer to that."

"Completely empty" looks different.
I always wonder how expensive "remakes" are in the U.S.

I cannot imagine for one second that Michael would be accepting any remake to be part of his life.
Inspiration is the oxygen for creators for doing it "on my own like I want it done".
Inspiration comes from original, not from imitation.
