I decided to start this thread because I recently read a heart touching story about a family who was gripped with cancer. When I was reading this story I felt so much compassion with this family and I almost could feel the despair. If I was in such a desperate situation with this worst diagnose, I would do everything in my power to save my kid's life and to find a curing treatment too.

My four-year-old niece Billie has an inoperable brain tumour. Her mother, my sister-in-law, has breast cancer. It's just been the worst year. It's hard to describe how things have been for us all.
I'm one of three brothers and Billie is the daughter of my little brother Sam, who is 33. He and his wife Terri, 40, have a second child, Joe, aged two. Terri was diagnosed in February. And then Billie became ill in June.
While Terri was having chemotherapy, Billie began to show signs of being unwell. At first they thought it was just a reaction to her mum's illness. Then she started to get wobbly, her eyes started drooping and she had difficulty swallowing. They realised that her speech was becoming slurred and she was having problems with her balance.
Her GP referred her immediately to hospital. Initially they thought she might have had a mini-stroke. But after a scan, she was diagnosed with a tumour on her brain stem. It's called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). And it's known as the worst type of brain cancer. A doctor described it as "the worst kind of tumour in the worst place".
This is an incredibly rare illness: only about 40 children are diagnosed with it every year in Britain. The cause is unknown but it is not genetic. If you look it up on the internet, all the statistics are stacked against Billie. It's an aggressive tumour and it's in the most delicate place. It's too dangerous to operate on because many of the brain's vital functions are located in the stem. So all that can be done is to try to reduce it using radiotherapy.
The prognosis is complicated. Many of the children with these tumours have a life expectancy of around a year to 18 months. Is it impossible for her to survive? No, as it turns out. Sam and Terri very quickly found out about a pioneering treatment at the Burzynski Clinic in Texas for children with DIPG. The estimated cost is £200,000. It is not available in this country, it is new and there are no guarantees. When you are faced with a decision like that, what can you do? It's like Monopoly money and when we realised we would have to raise this amount, it seemed ridiculous. Especially as there's only a slight chance that the treatment might work.
But it might save her life. So you have got to try. It was a relief to finally do something. When we realised we had to raise this money it was almost like a blessing because we felt that we could divert our energy into that. I've always worked as a music writer and editor (I was one of the founding editors of the Observer Music Monthly) so I know a lot of people from that world. It has been refreshing after so many years working with a music business which Hunter S Thompson rightly called a "cruel and shallow money trench" to find musicians so willing to help, just because they can.
We set up a gig in Manchester with Badly Drawn Boy for the end of November. I helped him put out his first single and wrote the press release for it in 1997. We are still good friends. When I told him about what was going on, he said: "Whatever you need me to do, just tell me and I'll do it."
I also happen to know Peter Kay because I used to edit Manchester's CityLife and he was its Comedian of the Year in the late 1990s. I sent him an email and he responded immediately. He offered to set up two gigs in Blackpool which take place next week. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Everyone we have asked has done something. The actor Antony Cotton (Sean Tully in Coronation Street and currently on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here) heard about it and got the script from Coronation Street's 50th anniversary live episode signed by the entire cast so that we could auction it. Cheryl Cole sent a signed autobiography. So did Michael Bublé. Professor Green gave us a pair of signed trainers. Gorillaz gave us some rare figurines of them by a Japanese toy manufacturer. Radiohead was maybe the most shocking: I was expecting them to send a signed box set or something. They gave us Ed O'Brien's guitar. It raised more than £9,000.
I'm amazed by what has happened. Once people find out there is a family in which the mother has breast cancer and the daughter has an inoperable brain tumour, they will do anything to help. People locally in Exeter have organised "butterfly balls" (the charity is called Billie Butterfly Fund). Two guys did a bike ride from Edinburgh to Exeter in two days.
Billie's nursery donated a full-time nursery place worth about £20,000. The guy who won it in the raffle already had a child at the nursery and said: "I don't want to take the prize, I want the nursery to bill me and the money will go direct to the fund."
One anonymous donor in the US sent $25,000. I still can't quite take that in. So far we have raised more than £170,000. With the Peter Kay gigs we are hoping to exceed the £200,000 and any money that is not spent directly on Billie's treatment will go towards research. Billie has already started the clinical trial. She went to Texas for a month, six weeks ago. She was able to come back and bring the treatment with her. She has a backpack with the treatment in it and a Hickman line going into her chest which administers this liquid every four hours. She has not been eating since she has been on the treatment so she also has to be fed through a tube – milkshakes and protein drinks.
Her health goes in waves. She started school a couple of weeks ago. She goes in for the afternoon for an hour and then just sleeps in the corner of the classroom.
Of course, she doesn't comprehend what is happening. When Terri got breast cancer, her parents told her: "Mummy has a lump and the doctors have to take it out to make her better." Now they tell her, "You have a lump too. The doctors can't take it out. But they are going to try to make it smaller." That's about as much as a four-year-old can grasp. Her brother Joe just knows that she is poorly.
In some ways the fundraising has been great because it has given us something to do. Friends and family have been amazing and have really led all that because obviously Terri and Sam have to try to have some semblance of normal family life for the children. They run a property company together and that has been a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they don't have a problem with getting time off work. On the other, they are self-employed so they are not earning while all this is going on. It's not exactly the least of their concerns because they have a mortage to pay, but when something like this happens you do what you have to do. At the moment Terri's prognosis looks a lot better. But she has only just finished her chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
I'm overwhelmed by the support that we have had and I'm thrilled Peter Kay is doing these two gigs. It's a chance for people to see him in a relatively intimate venue. The Blackpool Opera House seats 3,000 and normally he would play to 20,000.
We hope the shows are a sell-out. I'll be there. Although I'm not sure I'm really in the mood for laughing much.
Until this happened Billie was just one of those people you imagine will sail through life. The change in her from a year ago is huge. I've spent the past 15 years as a music journalist meeting all these rock stars who supposedly have "the X factor". Most of them really don't have it. Billie does.
It's hard not to resort to clichés but she is one of those little girls who is incredibly beautiful and who just lights up a room. Of course, she's my niece. So I'm biased.

The name 'Burzynki' crossed my mind instantly, because while I was watching 'Thrive The movie' a few weeks ago, I saw the part about the healthcare industry which is suppressing alternative cancer cures for economical gain and their battles against medical geniuses who invent and develop those cures. I consider Dr. Burzynski as one of those brave geniuses.

Breaking News: Outrageous New Attack on Dr. Burzynski

The pioneering cancer doctor is a target once again. But you can help stop the attack.
Stanislaw Burzynski, MD, PhD, is a biochemist practicing in Texas who developed (using his own money) a nontoxic gene-targeted cancer therapy called antineoplastons. It has been shown to effectively help cure some of the most “incurable” forms of terminal cancer.
Dr. Burzynski had tried to get the FDA to review and approve antineoplastons since 1977, to no avail. To make sure he would not get into trouble for using the experimental therapy in his practice, his legal team confirmed that he was acting within the law and could use antineoplastons in his own practice “to meet the immediate needs of patients.” But in the 1980s the Texas Medical Board (TMB) charged him with breaking a law that didn’t actually exist and tried to revoke his medical license. Numerous investigations later—including an appearance before the Texas Supreme Court—found no violation of any law or standard of care. The TMB came up empty-handed.
We have reported on the TMB’s pattern of harassment against integrative doctors a number of times, discussing serious allegations from the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the serious attacks on Dr. Bill Rea’s work in environmental medicine and chemical sensitivity, and on Texas Governor Rick Perry’s involvement in appointing board members who actively harass integrative physicians.
As Dr. Joseph Mercola reported in June of this year, the FDA, the pharmaceutical industry, and the National Cancer Institute all knew how promising Dr. Burzynski’s therapy was proving to be. Standard cancer treatment is based on very expensive machines and very expensive toxic drugs. There is an enormous amount of money to be made in this paradigm, and Dr. Burzynski’s work single-handedly threatened to overturn much of it. On the other hand, this treatment showed such promise that they wanted to get their hands on it themselves.
So first they tried to copy his invention using a single non-patented ingredient, and when that failed, they tried to steal his patents out from under him. However, they knew they couldn’t use the stolen patents so long as he had the ability to defend his rights. So the government spent over $60 million to prosecute him on 75 counts of violating federal law, hoping to tuck him away in jail for the rest of his life.
For the next ten years, Dr. Burzynski was engaged in a lengthy and convoluted legal battle with the FDA. After two trials, he was found not guilty on all counts, and his antineoplastons medication is currently undergoing the FDA approval process. His fight was chronicled in a stunning documentary film, Burzynski: The Movie. Now the Texas Medical Board is back. The TMB is making yet another attempt to revoke Dr. Burzynski’s medical license which, if successful, would result in the closure of his clinic, the abandonment of all his patients, and would squelch any possibility of antineoplastons gaining FDA-approval.
Using the death of two of his terminally ill patients as a pretext, the TMB is charging Dr. Burzynski with the off-label use of FDA-approved drugs. It must be stressed, however, that Dr. Burzynski uses the drugs off-label in order to tailor the medication specifically to an individual’s genetic profile, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Dr. Burzynski takes blood and tissue samples from his patients to form their molecular profile. From that he chooses from wide variety of existing FDA-approved drugs to tailor his gene-targeted therapy to his patient’s genetic profile specifically.
Multi-agent targeted gene therapies are the way of future. The American Society of Clinical Oncology has stated that they want to focus on “targeted therapies and personalized diagnosis and treatment” over the next decade. Dr. Burzynski is the only one who is using such a treatment on patients today.
The TMB’s complaint concerns a patient who had triple-negative breast cancer, had already undergone conventional cancer treatment without success, and initially felt better after Dr. Burzynski’s treatment and was able to return to work. The board is charging Dr. Burzynski over the side effects of his treatment, though they do not seem concerned with the horrible side effects she experienced with the conventional cancer treatments.
The complaint also concerns a patient with estensioneruoblastoma, a cancer so rare that any medication use would have been “off-label” since there is no recognized treatment for this disease at all. The patient lived for five more years and the tumor decreased in size by 40%, but the TMB complaint is charging that the disease actually progressed during his treatment.
The off-label use of FDA-approved drugs is not uncommon, and it is legal. According to the American Cancer Society, a study showed that 8 out of 10 cancer doctors surveyed had used drugs off-label. And half of the chemotherapy drugs used are for conditions not listed on the FDA-approved drug label.

Sorry for this long post but I felt that these cases deserved more attention, and they don't get too much attention from the media as they deserve? Well..media isn't always so independent as you might think.. but we do know that already, don't we?

James Murdoch, as you may know, is the chairman and chief executive of News Corporation Europe and Asia, and chairman of BSkyB.
I can only imagine the extent to which drug makers can benefit from having a media mogul on their payroll, as well as "sponsoring" media content on health policy. Clearly they've thought this one through, and it makes perfect sense when you consider the clout they need to keep the media quiet about their various wrongdoing ...
I think it's safe to say that if strings need to be pulled, they will be pulled—hard.
Drug industry influence is not restricted to Murdoch's newspaper empire, but their ties are worth noting as they have been at the center of intense media and legal scrutiny before regarding allegedly fabricating lies against a respected British doctor, Andrew Wakefield (against whom, ironically, the British Medical Journal also launched an unjustified vicious attack).

Thank you, RK, for sharing and putting our attention to those important matters. It feels much more meaningfull to waste my energy on this alternative cancer cure and how it possibly can come to mankinds use than argueing about 'Who is Who' in Hoaxland - and while waiting for BAM we can do a lot of good to make the world a better place, even if it's just study and spread information to eachother. bearhug

I've seen the documentary about this doctor and I saw people who believe in him so i don't think he's doing any harm. There really is no cure for cancer? After all the research??

Sure there's cures for cancer. But if your BIG PHARMA ... there's NO MONEY IN CURE. The "system" is designed to keep you sick & on medication. Because anyone who has cancer will spend their whole life savings just trying to prolong their life. And if you choose modern medicine. Your going to die broke & in pain. Burzyniski has been fighting the AMA- (which I call AMERICAN MURDER ASSOCATION). because they know his facility actually heals people. I watch his videos on www.naturalnews.com. Did everyone ever think if they found a cancer what would happen to all those "cancer treatment centers of America?". All those people would be out of work. The agenda is suppose to keep you sick. If cures we're put out there for the public, the sick scum bags in medical fields & running this system would not be doing their job right. Cancer has just exploded. Breast cancer, all those pretty little pink things people buy, all your doing is helping them buy more portable buses so they can go to impoverished neighborhoods (mainly black & hispanic) & tell them they are offering FREE BREAST CANCER SCREENINGS. They pumped their breasts full of radiation, for a couple years in a row...........wow............guess what???????.............they get breast cancer. What better way for a repeat customer??? A friend of mine had such a free screening and they found something there that she said she had it there for many years and never bothered her...the result was they told her it was cancer and in 4-5 years after that she was dead, after having surgery, chimio and radiations :(((((.

yes, most women are also given "false positives". So they do all the pumping of radiation on a false positive to come to find out there was nothing there to start out with. I have 2 sisters who've had breast cancer. I don't have it. When I woke up to the truth of the cancer screenings I don't get them done anymore. And when I mentioned that to my doctor, & was concerned about all the radiation getting pumped into my breasts. she responds......."yea there is alot of talk of side affects"......& agreed with me. Everyone's doctors' office has to show revenue coming in. Most in vaccine dosages, & tests being run. If they can't generate revenue, they're facility will be shut down. They get kickback for every test, every blood drawn, & how many kids they can brain damage by injecting VACCINES! full of toxins. I know because my 5 year old grandson is brain damaged by vaccines, ( fancy word for autismn) so don't think it can't happen to you. My sisters are just radiation & chemo "survivors".

If you read the comments, blogs, articles on the web about Burzynski's treatment you simply can't ignore the discussions, controversial opinions and scepticism. I think it is important to read all sides of the story. It is obvious that internet and social media create awareness, though confusion too..
Dr Hilary Jones Promotes Questionable Burzynski Clinic on TV

Viewers told "It is pioneering research, and pioneers in medicine tend to get a rough ride to begin with."
There is a stark and inexplicable difference in how the mainstream media and bloggers have been covering the Texas based cancer clinic of Dr Stanislaw Burzynski.
There has been an explosion of blog posts since the clinic starting threatening bloggers who questioned the claims of the clinic, my own blog included.
Instead of looking at the claims of the clinic and the ethical practices involved in the long running ‘trials’, the mainstream media have been unable to tackle the issues in any other way than framed through the stories of desperately poorly children who are wanting to attend the clinic and need hundreds of thousands to get there. When framed in this way, the ‘human interest’ story will always overwhelm any concerns that people may have about this centre.
Bloggers, almost without exception, have focussed their writing on the science and ethics of the clinic – both of which have caused much concern. If patients have been involved, it has been tangential and as part of a discussion as to how Burzynski presents himself. The Observer responded to criticism of its own coverage by damning the bloggers who tackled the way in which the paper had discussed Burzynski, calling them ‘sanctimonious and aggressive’ and “having a disregard for the facts”.
It’s a topsy-turvy world.
The paper highlighted how the parents of children with cancer were distressed by much of the online coverage. Indeed this may be true. But the mainstream media is not showing that it is themselves who are putting these vulnerable people into the spotlight where indeed they may be exposed to negative coverage of their “personal choice of treatment”. Bloggers, if they want to cover the issue, are in a near impossible position.They cannot cover the serious issues about Burzynski without being made to look like thoughtless and socially inept fools who will make the families of terminally ill children suffer.
For their part, there has not been a single mainstream UK media article, programme or news item that has focussed squarely on how this clinic is almost certainly raising false hope, depriving desperate families of their life savings and misleading the world as to what it is really doing.
Even the Guardian had to frame their critical story of Burzynski through a 17 year old, who is himself seriously ill, who is having his own “struggles with injustice”.
This morning delivered a particular low point in this story.
ITV’s Daybreak programme brought on a girl with cancer, Chiane Cloete, and her father to talk about how they were raising £130,000 to send the five year old to Burzynski. Dr Hilary Jones, the programmes resident doctor, was there on the sofa to discuss the issues.
The segment started promisingly with one of the presenters saying how Burzynski was “controversial” and had been tried for fraud, and how the treatments ‘were not recognised by the US authorities.
Jones was explicitly challenged over the ‘question marks’ regarding sending someone to this clinic in the US. His response was shocking,
The treatment that Dr Burzynski is offering is very experimental. It is pioneering research, and pioneers in medicine tend to get a rough ride to begin with.
This is a simple distortion. Burzynski cannot be described as a ‘pioneer’. He has been treating people in this way for over thirty years. He is using an approach that other investigators have explored and found unsatisfactory. He is also using a ragbag of conventional chemo drugs in a haphazard way. So, whilst, ‘to begin with’ you might expect some harsh criticism. But after decades of being unable to provide decent results from your ‘experiment’ you might start to expect quite a lot more than a ‘rough ride’.
Jones is playing straight the Burzynski advertising spiel, described so well by oncologist David Gorsky, as a ‘cult of personality’ where Burzynski is a “brave maverick doctor”.
Burzynski is not a maverick. At best, he may be incompetent. Gorsky says of him,
Dr. Burzynski’s stock in trade, as far as evidence goes, is anecdotes and case series without control groups subject to major confounders and selection bias, all wrapped in a patina of science-y sounding gobbledygook designed to mimic what real oncologists and real science do. He keeps numerous clinical trials open to allow him to administer his antineoplastons but never seems to be able to progress to phase III trials or to publish his clinical trial in halfway respectable journals. Unfortunately, although Dr. Burzynski is a good mimic and very talented at portraying the “brave maverick doctor,” he’s not so good at actually doing oncology. As I have shown before, he uses the results of a commercial test that does nothing better that what a lot of other cancer centers do and produces recommendations that are facile and whose applicability to the tumor being tested ranges from the painfully obvious without the test to the highly questionable to come up with cocktails of chemotherapy and targeted therapies without regard to potential interactions. Then, of course, he throws antineoplastons–excuse me, phenylbutyrate–into the mix. The result is a gmish of up to six or seven drugs thrown together without consideration of potential drug interactions, the likelihood of which rises markedly with each new drug added to the cocktail. Worse, Dr. Burzynski tells the press and his patients that he is not giving chemotherapy when, in fact, he gives lots and lots of chemotherapy in a non-evidence-based manner, along with huge doses of antineoplastons, either given as antineoplastons many grams at a time or as phenylbutyrate, which is an HDAC inhibitor and thus chemotherapy.
Jones goes on to explain how one of his friends is currently attending the clinic and is ‘very impressed with what goes on there. And we need to keep an open mind. It’s unfortunate it costs so much money, but pioneering treatment so often does.’
This again is deeply misleading. Burzynski is charging people huge amounts of money to be included in trials. Remember, trials are the only way he is allowed to deliver his treatments. His trials have been going on for decades. No substantial results have been published. People are not normally charged to take part in trials. Indeed, in many cases, patients are paid to take part. The costs for these trials have also been criticised by patients as being disproportionate for what they receive.
Appearing to endorse the approach and the costs of the clinic is deeply irresponsible in my opinion.
People have been tweeting that I should report Jones to the GMC or that this programme should be reported to Ofcom. I am not sure about that. The main disciplinary hearing I am interested in is when Burzynski faces the Texas Medical Board in the New Year. What I would actually like to see is the mainstream media actually cover Burzynski where he is the subject. Where the story is focussed on the criticisms of the clinic and not on some heart breaking story of a dying child.
At the moment, all the heavy lifting around this story is being left to bloggers. And for their efforts, they have been threatened by Burzynski’s hired gangsters. Rhys Morgan, 17, had pictures of his house sent to him. I was told to “Be smart and considerate for your family and new child, and shut the article down..Immediately”.
It’s not as if the public only want to hear about heroic children. I have had nearly a quarter of a million page views in the past month regarding these issues. It would not just be ethically right to cover Burzynski properly, but it might also be a sound economic decision.
Not that it should be, of course, But it makes it even stranger as to why the media are incapable of doing anything other than promoting this dubious wicked nonsense.

I also feel the same way....and believe they don't want to let the public know about cures. Unfortunately, it's necessary for kids to get a zillion vaccines before they can enter school. And I do believe they experiment on people by giving free vaccines. I know so many people who :::run::: to get antibiotics and drugs at the slightest hint of feeling sick. Look, the only thing I agree on is that the FDA drags its heels on many things. I've known of many lame brain clinics that are purported to "heal" those who can't be cured, between Texas & Mexico. Most would've survived and saved much more money if they'd simply eaten an organic diet that's lowfat, and low on meats and sugars. Cancer is something I'm all to familiar with, and it's taken more people in my family than heart disease. For the most part, people simply need to do self checks, and come in to the doctors, instead of WISHING that growing lump to go away. Eyes blurring, etc., just doesn't go away.
I believe in a hybrid solution for cancer: catch it early, but eat right in the first place, eat organic. If you get it, fight, fight, fight! Throw the book at it!

I also believe we have to see the 2 sides of the story and I agree the old-fashioned vaccins have saved many lives but when it comes to cancer I don't trust the official "cure" simply because it proved inefficient.
All the people I know who had cancer and followed the old path of surgery- chemo-radio -* they all died in max 5 years and we're talking about young people, 40-45 years old. I guess if they would have done nothing more but follow a diet they would have survived at least that long.

I agree. 'Patch Adams' has been a great inspirator for many hospitals, called “Strength Through Laughter” therapy. Party's are being organized, f.i. at Halloween patients wear "spook cancer" costumes. Studies showed that laughter and fun makes so much difference for them.
Michael was convinced about this laughter/humor/music treatment. It was/is his dream to make a difference for these children.
About Burzynski, indeed it is hard to see solid proof of cured patients. In the movie we hear a positive talk of patients and it has a high PR level, so we will never know how TRUE it is. My point is, triggered by the movie Thrive, that we should be aware and NOT take everything for granted what the healthcare industry tells and 'sells' us.

Actually, it is a very positive fact that an internet discussion about vaccination is running. About 10 or 15 years ago I wasn’t aware about the side effects and risks of vaccinating children and I didn’t even consider to do research on internet. I took things too much for granted as a lame sheep, call it naive. Ok, I read the information which was included on the invitation of the children’s vaccination program. Now I know about the pros and cons of vaccinating children thanks to internet and some critical media outlets.
Still I find vaccinations necessary to prevent childhood mortality and for protection against infectueus diseases with a high risk on severe complications, f.i. according to the WHO measles is still one of the leading causes of childhood mortality. Rick Perry's appalling 2007 executive order mandating that all young girls in his state receive Merck & Co.'s Gardasil vaccine before entering school has brought the issue of the vaccine's safety and effectiveness, or lack thereof, back to the forefront of the national conversation. And a European physician has now openly spoken out against Gardasil, claiming that it is both dangerous and completely ineffective at preventing cervical cancer.
Dr. Christian Fiala, a general practitioner from Vienna, Austria, told WorldNetDaily (WND) in a recent report that Merck's Gardasil does not actually work to prevent cervical cancer, and that it is not safe. According to Dr. Fiala, "there is no proof of a causal relationship of HPV (human papillomavirus) and cervical cancer, and there is no evidence that HPV vaccine reduces the overall number of cervical cancer (cases)."
Assuming for a moment that the Gardasil vaccine actually does help prevent HPV, Dr. Fiala asserts that HPV is not even itself responsible for causing cervical cancer, which makes the vaccine completely useless at accomplishing the very thing for which it is marketed. But none of this has stopped Merck and its lackeys in the government and media from continuing to endorse the "money-making machine without any benefits for patients," as Dr. Fiala calls it. His group uncovered documents back in 2008 revealing that the FDA has known for a while that Gardasil is responsible for causing anaphylactic shock, foaming at the mouth, grand mal convulsions, coma, and paralyzation, among other things.

What happened, is they were run out of this country, because places like Ireland and such, actually offered a discount for them being there. The EVIL is in the Senate and Congress, those we voted for! Then, good health insurance companies, you are charged perhaps $10 - 30 a month. For say Topamax, a premium anti-seizure drug. Before it went generic, someone without insurance would be charged $400 a month! Now, you could sign up for a program for $10 a month, if you didn't have enough for health insurance.
So really, it can all be managed effectively.
But to take the word of ONE person, who gave birth to autistic child? It doesn't show up, in the beginning. It's genetic, not caused. Several years ago I had a friend who was Dr., physician in a clinic.
Poor State clinic, nothing special, so it wasn't "or your license goes!", but pharma people
were paying Drs for prescribing their new stuff instead of cheap alternatives, stuff

So Drs. advertise and prescribe that profit-connected medicine [they even SELL it

Actually, I'm incorrect: Gardasil protects against High Risk HPV, And protects against the four of the deadliest versions, as seen in the last link: HPV #6, 11, 16 & 18. Cervarix only guards against types 16 & 18, which cause 70% of cervical and anal cancers. That's what killed Farrah Fawcett, BTW!
This is sadly fact; plus, these two vaccinations don't prevent 10% of infections, so condoms are still helpful.
Blood clots were sometimes seen with Gardasil, and venous thrombolic. I'd surmise, this is what caused the deaths you speak of. Syncope/fainting, is also a possible side effect. Preventable by keeping the vaccinated person seated for 15 minutes, after injection.

Using this fear-based reference to Peron is not only painful and malicious, but victimizes a woman who changed the country's history by fighting for the rights of women, including their right to vote. Eva's activities were integral in the history of Argentina and she became a political symbol.
In fact, Juan Peron's first wife also died of cervical cancer and the possibility exists that Peron infected both wives with a particularly aggressive variant of human papillomavirus which combined with other risk factors may have caused cancer in both, or that his first wife infected him and he passed the infection along to Eva.

Dr. Burzynski's work threatens the viability of the cancer industry
Back in the 1970s, Dr. Burzynski came up with a theory about cancer and cancer treatment that was far different from the conventional paradigm of targeting cancer cells via chemotherapy and radiation treatments. After verifying the legitimacy of this theory, Dr. Burzynski developed a unique, natural formula made from peptides and amino acids that effectively corrects the gene malfunctions that he discovered were the true culprits responsible for the growth and proliferation of cancer cells.
This treatment, which he named antineoplastons, effectively balances the levels of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes -- the two type of genes involved in cancer growth -- which in turn prevents cancer cells from surviving. To make a long story short, this simple protocol effectively targets all these genes, as well as all forms of cancer, without causing any negative side effects or lost quality of life.
Since its original development, Dr. Burzynski has improved and refined the formula, and has successfully treated many patients with all kinds of cancers, including young children with supposedly "incurable" cancers like childhood brainstem gliomas.
But Dr. Burzynski's success did not go unnoticed by authorities with a different agenda. The Texas Medical Board (Dr. Burzynski's practice is located near Houston) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), both obviously threatened by his work, eventually went after Dr. Burzynski and tried to shut down his office and destroy his reputation. In the end they were unsuccessful, which represents a huge victory for medical freedom, but they put him through hell for over 14 years -- and they continue to deprive him and his work of necessary and rightful funding.
Dr. Burzynski's research has received FDA approval for clinical trials, but he has never been given any research funding
There is so much to the story of Dr. Burzynski that simply does not fit in this short article. But one thing you need to know about him is that his work has been so tried, tested, and successful, that the US government actually tried to steal his patents. This, of course, came after years of trying to have him arrested and jailed for his work and treatment methods, which the FDA and others alleged were illegal. (Hint: Anything that actually works to reverse cancer is quickly and aggressively declared "illegal" by the medical establishment. This is necessary to continue the cancer scheme that promises a cure but only delivers suffering and death at high profit…)
Since 1977, Dr. Burzynski has been trying to get his antineoplastons treatment approved by the FDA, and to this day it has only been granted Phase III FDA clinical trials. And this granting came after years of battling the FDA in court, which brought him before a grand jury at least four different times, and all for absolutely no legitimate reason other than to harass and potentially bankrupt him.
In the documentary, there is a very telling clip of an Oversight and Investigation Subcommittee hearing deliberator delivering the news to then-FDA Commissioner Dr. David A. Kessler that the agency had no case against Dr. Burzynski, that none of the grand juries had found any fault with his work or practice, and that there was no valid indictment. And yet this did not stop the FDA from continuing its harassment of Dr. Burzynski for years to come, that is until the agency's fictitious case against him eventually crumbled to ruin, which paved the way for the reluctant approval of his formula in clinical trials.
Even though Dr. Burzynski finally received approval to administer his treatment in FDA-approved clinical trials -- which, again, is a very significant victory in and of itself -- there are two crucial pieces of information to the case that illustrate the true agenda behind the cancer industry.
First, none of Dr. Burzynski's trials have ever received a dime of federal funding for cancer research. The US National Cancer Institute (NCI) has distributed hundreds of millions of dollars to conventional cancer research, which as we all know has been a failure, but none of this money has ever been directed to Dr. Burzynski's work -- in fact, the federal government has prohibited taxpayer money from funding Dr. Burzynski's highly successful research.
Second, cancer patients are only allowed to participate in Dr. Burzynski's trials if they have already gone through conventional cancer treatments that have been deemed unsuccessful. With the exception of a few cases where exemptions were granted, most of Dr. Burzynski's patients have come to him in extremely poor health as a result of the brain-frying, immune system-destroying chemotherapy and radiation treatments to which they were previously summoned -- and yet the success rate of Dr. Burzynski's treatment blows conventional treatments right out of the water.

• Most or all of the chemotherapy drugs that doctors prescribe actually cause cancer -- and this "side effect" sits alongside other devastating ones like heart failure, infertility, nerve damage, and kidney damage.
• Many of the FDA's drug approval advisers and committee members also hold positions at major drug companies, which means they are anything but objective in the decisions they make concerning cancer drugs.

Texas Medical Board again tries to destroy Dr. Burzynski with new lawsuit to revoke his medical license

(NaturalNews) The medical establishment in Texas refuses to give up its vicious agenda to destroy the work and career of Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, the famed cancer doctor whose innovative and specialized antineoplaston (ANP) treatments have helped cure many patients of supposedly "incurable" cancers. Medical Mafia fascism forces parents to hide their children

NaturalNews) From Africa there are stories of mothers being hunted down and forced by gunpoint to have their children receive vaccinations known to produce adverse reactions. This might be expected in third world countries. But the same essential tyranny has also been occurring in America.

As an adult, you can still manage to avoid toxic cancer treatments and toxic vaccinations. But if you attempt to seek alternative cancer treatments for your child, you risk your freedom and endanger your family.
That's because you'll be charged as a criminal and your child will be abducted by a local Child Protection Services (CPS) agent, and then forced by court order to undergo chemo. Now gun point medicine is spreading to vaccinations.
Actual forced chemo cases
Jim and Donna Navarro's child Thomas was diagnosed with brain cancer when he was four. Donna was a former RN with emergency room and military experience. She knew chemotherapy was very toxic. She and Jim agreed to allow partial tumor removal with surgery while looking for a safer yet effective treatment.
Ultimately, their search wound up at Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski's clinic in Houston, TX. Under extreme duress from the AMA and FDA, Burzynski's clinic could take in cancer patients only if the patient had undergone enough Medical Mafia "standard of care" to be considered hopeless.
Even taking that level of half dead patients with burnt out immune systems, Burzynski had a cure rate approximating 50%. The Medical Mafia claims a success rate of under five percent with most cancers and 10% to 15% with a few others. The Navarros were shocked to discover that their son Thomas could not undergo Burzynski's treatments until after a full round of chemo.
At a cost of $43,000 per chemo bag, the Navarro's were forced to go into debt to cover the 10 treatments that came to almost a half million dollars. Adding all auxiliary hospital and caretaker expenses brings the total to nearly a million or more dollars. After 18 months of dealing with the FDA, Thomas was finally allowed to become a Burzyinski patient.
After substantial success with the brain tumors in the following seven months, Thomas died. The medical mafia would likely claim Thomas died of brain cancer at age six. But his death certificate says otherwise: "Respiratory failure (from) chronic chemotherapy toxicity."
A couple of years ago, the parents of 13 year old Daniel Hauser went on the lam from their native Minnesota when a judge ruled Daniel must undergo chemo after he had decided he couldn't take it anymore.

These are TWO completely separate subjects, that are getting convoluted here!
I do seriously believe Peron gave both his wives HPV deadly variants of Cervical cancer.
Cervarix has had less side effects, yet I don't see anything posted. Cervical cancer caused by HPV is serious business, and women DIE. Men are mostly carriers, and SHOULD be vaccinated, too! HPV-16 & HPV-18 are the two killers, btw.
I don't believe in the Hoxsey, or the other natural cancer therapies. Why? Because 9/10 patients die! I also don't like the fact that the doctors and nurses of the natural therapies will then blame the patients, for not having the proper attitudes. To me, if something is going to work, it's going to work - whether I believe in it or not!!
I'm quite pessimistic, after seeing my own family members desperately give these people all their money, while living in a trailer, because they lost their home from being too ill.
Then, a male friend of mine was told by a naturapath to stop eating all dairy and ice cream, 2 years ago. We saw each other last year. Why am I 5 inches taller than him!? Because he listened to someone who didn't have his best interest, and now his spine is collapsing. 5 feet tall, when he used to be almost 5'7"?
Do research, don't just home in on the FIRST page you find. Because oftentimes, I'll find pages that will refer back onto themselves, which means they have absolutely no hard evidence! Just testimonials, and people blaming someone else. Instead of owning up that perhaps it's in their OWN DNA, that the problem is coming from! Like, heart disease, diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc. When will people stop trying to blame others, and take responsibility for THEMSELVES!?

After research on internet, the anti-campaigns and discussions with other parents and conclusively having too much doubts about the HPV vaccin, it was very clear to us not to vaccinate our girl with a questionable and apparently incomplete researched vaccin based on too much assumptions. Besides, after reading the news about the vaccin not being cost-effective in the Netherlands, it gives me even more reason to doubt and to me DOUBT is definately a NO on life decisions!

Medical doctors question the safety of the HPV vaccine.
Back in early October 2011, three medical doctors in Paris, France, called upon the National Assembly to delist vaccinations for HPV (human papillomavirus) and to suspend the European approval for the quadrivalent vaccine Gardasil® because they doubted the vaccine’s safety and efficacy.
One of the physicians, Dr. Philippe de Chazournes, chairs the association MedOcean. The two other physicians are Dr. Joel Pilgrim and Dr. Jean-Pierre Spinosa, a Swiss obstetrician-gynecologist, who co-authored the book, “The Sting too. Why do we vaccinate girls against cancer of the cervix?”
It seems the requests came out of an investigation and report made by Dr. Catherine Riva, Dr. Spinosa, and an un-named freelance journalist.
Dr. Spinosa states that the “precautionary principle should apply” regarding the dangers of the aluminum adjuvant, which is a neurotoxin. Dr. Riva questions the U.S. FDA’s “fast track dossier” on Gardasil®, plus there is indication of “clear influence” apparently on the part of the manufacturer of the vaccine. The investigation found that European regulatory authorities apparently followed the FDA’s recommendations, which are now being questioned for safety and efficacy by physicians.

Research into any medical field (such as cancer therapies) are mostly funded by two sources: pharmaceutical companies (thus big pharma) and the federal government. There are lesser sources but I would say that at least over 80% of studies in cancer are funded by these two sources.
Big pharma are COMPANIES. They want to make a profit. I am not saying that there aren't researchers and physicians who care about people, there are, and if not most actually do care; however, what research is funded is what is studied (and vice versa, if not funded, no study). As far as the feds, they are lobbied by big pharma. Therefore, over 80% (probably more) studies are funded by big pharma. Do you really think a COMPANY is going to study something such as a natural therapy that you can get at the supermarket that therefore can't be patented? Yeah, it all comes down to funding, and therefore, 'natural therapies' (ie. can't be patented) do not get studied much if at all. Therefore, true research on these potential therapies are slim. And therefore it is difficult to get true scientific info on them.
I personally think we should study both allopathic and holistic medicine, as I think both could be helpful, depending on the situation. But holistic does not get studied due to corporate greed and lobbying, as a general rule. I know of people that tried allopathic medicine, which did not help them, go to natural therapies and holistic medicine to have a very good response that the allopathic medicine did not do. That is not to say that allopathic medicine is bad necessarily: it especially seems helpful for the acute diseases and some great discoveries have been made in the field.
I also think at the high up (Illuminati and TPTB) don't want a cancer cure and just want to do harm to the general public. However, most researchers doing the studies actually do care and don't have this agenda (but many have been conditioned to only look in one area (allopathic) for cures and treatments). It goes back to education and what is studied, and therefore, what studies are published.
I don't know much about this doctor, but I have heard about his research. Definitely is interesting a needs further study. The question is: does the cancer industry even WANT a cure due to all the profits they are raking in.
Vaccines are a whole 'nother can o' worms: at the VERY LEAST, we should get the toxins out of the vaccines such as mercury and formaldehyde, plus other bad things. I also think it is absurd and not scientifically ethical to be giving tiny babies however many vaccines they are given, right at birth, while they already have maternal antibodies. Just sad.

I'm quite pessimistic, after seeing my own family members desperately give these people all their money, while living in a trailer, because they lost their home from being too ill.
Then, a male friend of mine was told by a naturapath to stop eating all dairy and ice cream, 2 years ago. We saw each other last year. Why am I 5 inches taller than him!? Because he listened to someone who didn't have his best interest, and now his spine is collapsing. 5 feet tall, when he used to be almost 5'7"?
Do research, don't just home in on the FIRST page you find. Because oftentimes, I'll find pages that will refer back onto themselves, which means they have absolutely no hard evidence! Just testimonials, and people blaming someone else. Instead of owning up that perhaps it's in their OWN DNA, that the problem is coming from! Like, heart disease, diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc. When will people stop trying to blame others, and take responsibility for THEMSELVES!?

It is (likely) not just DNA causing these epidemics. Actually there likely is no such thing as a genetic epidemic, because the two terms are not really synonymous (depending on the definition of epidemic):

But what you can't ignore is the fact that genetics (at least the nucleotide sequence) does not change quick enough to see these huge epidemics that have been seen by the world recently. They usually have to change over at least one generation (humans that would be 30 years average maybe), as a general rule. Now epigenetics is another story but I will focus on the nucleotide sequences for this post.
So my question is: why has autism rates skyrocketed? I have come to three possibilities (four if you take into account epigenetics):
1. Genetics have changed so much that we see it more (I think I debunked that above)
2. We are diagnosing it better but honestly, I don't think this is true because physicians, even 50 years ago would have noticed the symptoms of autism and reported it http://www.webmd.com/brain/autism/autism-symptoms because I don't think they were dumb enough to overlook something so profound. Or they diagnosed it as something else, but I kind of don't buy that either because that is not discussed in books regarding the history of medicine, etc but I will leave the possibility.

4. Epigenetics (which can change in less than a generation) are at fault. But this is a little harder to study at this point (sorry I am not an expert in epigenetics :) )
I know I have come to my conclusion of the most likely scenario. There are lots of info of all sides of this.
The same conclusion can be made about diabetes, heart dz as the autism example above. Genetic changes just are not likely to change that fast to see these kinds of epidemics occurring. Do people need to take responsibility: of course. But first of all, they need education regarding what lies are told to them: JMO.

Might I add that the cannaboids in marijuana have been shown to attack cancer cells while leaving healthy cells alone. Obviously, there's not enough research nor funding to conduct proper research for this, but it would make sense that that is exactly why marijuana has been given such a bad rep on purpose. If marijuana was legalized and regulated medically and recreationally, the big pharma industry would literally die a very quick death. People without medical insurance have already been "self medicating" for years and are some of the healthiest folks around. I'm not saying marijuana is the answer to all this, I'm just saying it's a great example of how we're lied to and how THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US!

Not sure if your post was in response to mine or not, but if that was, rest assured, we agree WAY MORE than we disagree. Believe me. :bearhug: That and I appreciate the posts that you have previously posted in this thread: they are very good /bravo/
Like I said, at the VERY LEAST we need to get these toxins OUT of the vaccines ASAP. I mean what is a mercury derivative doing in vaccines anyways, except to make and save $$ (and possible ulterior motive for TPTB for the very few that run the top) and CYA idea? We also need to educate people so they can make the right choices for themselves.
However, this is the short term thing we need to do. In the long term we do need to do the studies regarding vaccinations. I do intimately know the data in one study with seemingly positive results regarding helping in an epidemic of an infectious disease (I am not against all vaccines therefore, and to keep my identity secure I will keep the details limited but if interested in further details, PM me). (No I am not in the vaccine industry nor ever was, rest assured). But that was ONE vaccine and ONE scenario and the likely truth is that we (probably) don't need however many boosters of any vaccine that are given this day in age, likely just one or two. That is why further studies are needed.
I also think we need to do studies on alternative and natural therapies, but like I said before the system does not allow this much. What can we do to change it? We first need to spread the word and get people to think for themselves (like TS always has said) and honestly I have learned a lot from him. We don't necessarily base things on opinions, but on real solid data obtained without bias. We need to look at all sides, because not all disease, not all vaccines are created equal...

If I had my way I would deeply study the benefit to risk ratio for vaccines against other therapies to see which is best scientifically (and I am talking about good studies here, not the poor study designs that are out there for some of these topics, such as with MSG). And to see how many boosters, what age given, etc. Most disease, since not deadly, are probably not worth the risk/benefit ratio to give them. However, there are instances, with some diseases which vaccines MAY help. Emphasis on may. This depends on the disease itself (how deadly, etc), alternative therapies available and efficacy, other preventions available, and the efficacy and risks of the vaccines in question compared to potential benefits. The truth is that most vaccines are probably not worth the benefit to risk ratio and are too dangerous.
We do need opinions because that is how hypotheses are developed. Then we need to study these hypotheses using unbiased approach and good, real scientific data.
Again, I am not for or against vaccines necessarily. I just want real data looking at both sides. And to get the toxins out of the vaccines. People's quality of life, and life itself depend on getting these toxins out of the vaccines. That I think we can agree on. Thanks for your support. I have been greatly affected that what drives to me expose as much as I can, & pass the information on. My grandson who is 5 years old, was a preemie at birth. 5lbs, compared to his brother who was born 8 lbs 5 oz. Actually Aydan (whos' 5) didn't received the cocktail of the MMR until after 18 months because he was sick, (another side affect of vaccines since birth) lowered immune system. My other grandson, who was also heavier at birth & heavier at his 18 months shots was not affected like Aydan was. The lower birth weight, & not as heavy with the MMR cocktail was injected, the barrier on the brain wasn't as thick so it affected him. My other grandson, hasn't been affected to Aydans level. I have a grandaughter that was born 15 months ago, has had 1 Hepatitis B shot, & it was right after she was born & was given the first round of shot of Hept. B that I started researching vaccines. She has not had 1 vaccine since, & my grandchildren will not have anymore.
It's everything in the food, vaccines, drinks, baby formula( which is WIC supplied is over 50% sugar. How many people are aware of that? The push for vaccines will not end. Like you wrote there's indeed a lot of info about all 4 points you mentioned and more. Still, it is not solidly proven what the exact cause of autism, ADHD, PDD-NOS is. Maybe because it is a combination of all these factors, plus food and allergies. Though, most conclusions after research are leaning towards vaccins. I was just reading a news topic about Dr. Andrew Wakefield who's research indicates that vaccins triggered youth autism. He has been accused by the British Medical Journal of fraud. (CBS/AP) Dr. Andrew Wakefield is either the victim of "a ruthless, pragmatic attempt to crush any attempt to investigate valid vaccine safety concerns" as he describes it or a huckster paid by lawyers in 1998 to falsify an autism study to make it appear vaccines were to blame for the disorder. The lawyers later sued the vaccine makers.
The huckster version of events is described in a British Medical Journal piece released this month which rips apart Wakefield's study and his motivation for writing it.
"Such clear evidence of falsification of data should now close the door on this damaging vaccine scare," said BMJ's editor-in-chief Dr. Fiona Godlee in a statement.
The 1998 study, which appeared in the prestigious British journal the Lancet, was groundbreaking when it came out. Wakefield examined 12 children with regressive autism - they were developing normally and then went awry. Wakefield said their symptoms appeared soon after receiving a vaccination for measles mumps and rubella called an MMR. In rich nations, almost all children receive the shot.
Wakefield, a gastroenterologist, hypothesized that the vaccine caused both the autism symptoms and gut problems.
Parents with autistic children, desperate to find it's cause and a cure, quickly rallied around Wakefield's study. Vaccination rates dropped in Britain as well as the United States. New cases of measles rose.
And so did the cases of autism or at least its diagnosis.
Later studies tried to replicate Wakefield's findings, but could not. Debate raged about the root causes of autism.
But the BMJ investigation by journalist Brian Deer found that five of the 12 children in Wakefield's paper had symptoms before the MMR shots. One girl turned out to have a heart disorder. Her symptoms disappeared after it was treated. The report claims three of the children turned out to not have autism at all and only one was eventually diagnosed with the regressive form of it described in Wakefield's paper.
The report also alleges that Wakefield falsified timeliness and when investigators showed Wakefield's study to parents of the children involved, some claimed he misrepresented their stories.
Perhaps most damagingly, the report claims Wakefield developed his autism vaccine theory only after he was hired by lawyers planning to sue vaccine makers. BMJ claims he was paid more than half-a-million dollars for his efforts.
On Wednesday, Wakefield fired back. Speaking to CNN's Anderson Cooper, he claimed the report's author was "a hit man who has been brought in to take me down" by big pharma.
According to the network, Deer signed a disclosure form claiming he has no financial interest in the matter, but freely admits he was paid by BMJ for his reporting.
"That's what journalists do," he told CNN.
Last year, the Lancet formally retracted Wakefield's study. Ten of the 13 authors had earlier done the same. Wakefield has since been stripped of his medical license in Britain.
But for Wakefield's supports, the battle drags on.
"I cannot imagine for a second that Dr. Wakefield would have any reason to falsify data," Wendy Fournier, president of the National Autism Association, told CNN. "He's a man of integrity and honesty and truly wants to find the answers for millions of children who have been affected by autism."

This evidence was made available to the BMJ before the publication of their accusations, but they chose to ignore it. BMJ caught in highly politicized scientific fraud
The BMJ, in essence, has been caught pulling off what may be the largest scientific fraud ever perpetrated by any medical journal in the history of the world. It grossly misrepresented the facts in falsely accusing Dr Wakefield of fabricating the clinical trial data that led to his landmark study being published in The Lancet in 1998. The innocence of Dr Wakefield has now been established by these newly-released documents.
The British Medical Journal also failed to disclose that its own finances are largely funded by vaccine manufacturers who fill the journal with paid advertising, and that such financial ties may have influenced the journal's decision to attempt to destroy the reputation of a researcher whose findings threatened the profits of its top sponsors. If you follow the money in this story, in other words, it leads right to the editors of BMJ, whose salaries are effectively financed by vaccine manufacturers. This all-important conflict of interest is almost never discussed in the mainstream media, by the way.

In a series of articles published in the UK Sunday Times and the British Medical Journal (BMJ), written by freelance journalist Brian Deer and BMJ editor Dr. Fiona Godlee (1), I am accused of altering the clinical histories and test results in autistic children in order to manufacture a novel disease – a disease described in The Lancet in 1998 that Brian Deer claims does not exist. I have documents that confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that I did not falsify this data; that the finding of bowel disease in these children is real; and that these findings were accurately reported in The Lancet in 1998.
The first document (2) describes 7 of The Lancet children and was written by Professor John Walker-Smith in December 1996, 14 months before The Lancet paper was published. Professor Walker-Smith prepared this document in an exercise that, in his words, “was totally unrelated to Andy Wakefield” (3). The document was a report prepared for a scientific meeting, and was based upon Professor Walker-Smith’s own independent assessment of the children’s condition.
He was assisted by a senior pathologist and an expert in bowel disease, Dr. Dhillon, who reported on the microscopic findings in the children’s intestinal tissues. This independent analysis was conducted to a high level of scientific rigor, and are the precise findings reported in The Lancet.
These documents, including Professor Walker-Smith’s report; the transcript of his sworn testimony before the UK medical regulator (2), the General Medical Council (GMC), and the relevant sections of the statement of Dr. Dhillon to the GMC3; were available to Deer and the editors of the BMJ well in advance of their recent publication. (4) They knew, or should have known, that their allegations against me were false. It is clear that the BMJ acted recklessly by failing to check these facts adequately before making their false allegations.
On the basis of this evidence, the British Medical Journal must retract these articles, or face the consequences.

It would really help to see, more than the same 2 or 3 websites over and over. That's what makes me suspect.

Marijuana is used for a lot of medicinal purposes and it has been given to cancer patients. Being legal for recreational use and being legal for medicinal use are two different things. People can get medical marijuana with a prescription (especially in California). The issue of legalization is more in terms of recreational use and lets face it, it will be used more for that than medical use. I don't think that marijuana is any worse for you than alcohol or cigarettes but I do not agree with people who say it is perfectly natural. The fact of the matter is that if you smoke anything, it will have an effect on your lungs and marijuana gives you a high.I really don't care if it is legalized or not. I just don't agree that it is as healthy as everyone tries and makes it out to be.

This is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, so think of us survivors, and pray for those that are lost. No - let's agree to disagree. I do have a license for MMJ in the state of CA, but I also try to limit the inhalation, to protect my lungs. I ingest it, for when my pain is over the top, and I don't want to go to the hospital for Dilaudid. Smoking it is for emergencies.
I don't feel MMJ is for the public at large at all. It should be downgraded to alcohol use, IMHO, so you can be given DUIs, and given fines up to an ounce if found in your car - like is done in the state of CA, if you don't have a license, like I do.
I use mostly legally prescribed pills for pain. MMJ for breakthrough pain.

You know, I think you may find you and I agree on more things, than not.
Yes; MMJ has a place, when it comes to medicine. That, I won't argue, because I do use it on occasion. For extended use, I eat it. For quick relief, I smoke it. I tend to do the first, because it gives all body relief for Fibro and spinal patients.
I tend to speak from similarities of my life, which can throw people off. People may think I'm a know it all - I've just had a rather concentrated life, because I've chosen to have an adventure for a life. It's hard to explain, unless you realize how many aunts/uncles I grew up with, it does get complicated. I'm even the 7th kid in my family. When you count up how many had how many kids by the time I was born, that's an awful lot. Which is why it wasn't a big deal, to adopt more kids into my house.

Perhaps we should start a thread on General Nutrition? I've been told to look into the Mediterranean Diet, since I've had some high cholesterol, from my tests. Just a little, but I sure love that I get to double both my fruits and veggies!
As for vitamins? Yes, there are fillers in some. I read the ingredient lists, and usually purchase mine from Swansonvitamins.com or Iherb.com online, when I'm not in a hurry.
When it comes to WIC, I've only seen women use the coupons, and go to the store. I've seen them buy the Juicy Juice, which is pure juice, btw. I've not bothered to read the dried formulas, but they were buying Enfamil, if I'm not mistaken.
Some doctors do get kickbacks - this is true. For Fibro, it's probably Cymbalta and Savella, the two drugs cleared now for us. But I went back onto an older SNRI standby, that's covered by my insurance. I used to pay $150 every month for one of those, but it did help with the pain. My health insurance is cheaper than that, and for that same cost, I now have insurance, and all my meds covered that I need now. Most of what I take has fallen out of patent, so I'm finally getting some real relief.
I do understand. And sugar IS my enemy, because I crave it. There was a time that my parents gave it to me all the time, growing up! But with Fibro, sugar intake directly = more pain with me. Most likely, feeds candida, in the stomach/intestines.
What I do, is take a synergistic approach to medicine. And it begins with diet.

That's a great idea for the nutrition link. I actually was going to start one, but wasn't sure how it would go over in the Michael Jackson Hoax Forum....lol.... But it would be a start. I'm sure there are many people who know alot of natural healers..... like ACV (apple cider vinegar), if someone has some good tips on improving their healthy, with stuff we just have laying around the house, it would save many a trip to doctor for medications. Lets try to spread the word of natural spices, that we have in our cupboards to get my peoples's "diseases" so they don't have to rely on any medication. Remember............medication only MASKS THE PROBLEM. IT NEVER CURES IT!!! I know when I was craving sweets (I'm not diabetic) it was because of the lack of nutriton, that's when I started taking "superfoods" mixing them in with my smoothies. It doesn't taste the best at first, but it's tolerable, & has many many "greens" we can't get from food in their natural state.

Yes, Fibromyalgia, IBS, DDD, and a few other issues. Sugar is like my hugest roller coaster, that spurs everything off. After 8 years of alternative meds and such, I'm quite aware that there isn't any cure for all the discs in my spine degenerating. But, I can help them, by drinking 1.5 fluid ounces of water per pound of body weight, each and every day. That's higher than we're told, but it gives me the best results, without the chills I feel otherwise. And, has stopped me from being rushed to the ER, and shoved onto IV drips, hurrah!
Glucosamine with Chondroitin along with MSM has taken my joint pains down due to being hit by a bus that affects my sciatica rather badly. I was told I'd be in a wheelchair, 5 years ago. The docs can't understand how I'm still walking, lol.
I made an agreement simply by taking opiates, MMJ, and some Fibro meds and muscle relaxers on a schedule. Otherwise, I take natural stuff, including Adrenal glands. Docs feel I'm an anomoly, but to keep doing what I am.

I also eat the Mediterranian Diet, which doubles fruits and veggies for most people. Greek Yogurt, each and every day, too. Lots of things that are easy, plus it's a heart healthy diet.
Though I take my obligitary flu shots, I have had my illnesses cut way down, which is a boon for me. I massage the area, just like I do for my cat. I also only get my cat her shots, every 3 years. I make sure it's absorbed, so she doesn't get a nodule.
I feel the answer is somewhere in between, and approach my life that way. Thus far, I'm improving my health for the first time in years. I pray it stays the course.

According to vaccine promoters, if you take a flu shot vaccine, that means you can run around and drench yourself in flu viruses with total immunity. You can lick dirty doorknobs, shake hands with people who just wiped their runny noses, and even touch filthy drooling babies right before you eat a sandwich with your contaminated hands. Thanks to the vaccine, you’re now bulletproof!
So why worry at all about un-vaccinated people infecting you?

So getting injected with last year’s viral strains is only useful if you’re a time traveler with a time machine in your living room. Wanna relive the flu season of 2007? No problem! The vaccine companies have those strains readily available for you. Just crank up your time-traveling gizmo that you bought on eBay and you’re ready to roll!

Vaccines need no proof that they work
The best part about the total morons who get vaccinated every year with flu shots is watching them try to explain why they always get sick anyway!

Option #1) Did you avoid the flu this winter? Must have been the flu shot!
Option #2) Catch a flu this winter? Oh, it “could have been worse” without the flu shot.
So, in the minds of the flu shot takers, there is no scenario in which the flu shot fails. It ALWAYS works in their minds, regardless of the outcome. That’s a sure sign that somebody at the medical clinic is quacking like a duck… Quack! Quack!

There are no credible clinical trials performed on any flu vaccines before they are rolled out, did you know? Not surprisingly, nobody in the field of medicine bothers to test the efficacy of flu shots versus vitamin D supplements, because they know vitamin D would vastly out-perform flu shots in its ability to prevent influenza infections.

Flu shots work beautifully on me, I can't say enough good, along with the pneumonia shot. I used to get sick for one or two months in bed. Now, day or two, that's it. They stop the Fibro from flaring, in my situation - I've proven this one, with me as the guinea pig, 2 years ago this month. Never missed another shot, after that.
I also cover my face with a scarf in public around sniffling & coughing people, and use the alcohol hand cleaner, if I touch anything, or anyone.

Fibro is the Monster I deal with, first and foremost, and get my information from the two research groups on it directly. Nutrition is #1, controlling my pain is #2, exercise #3, and sleep is #4.

Angela Zhang, High School Student Devises Potential Cancer Cure
While it may not have been a typical extra-curricular activity, 17-year-old Angela Zhang's after school project may change the world. Zhang has been making headlines recently after taking home a check of $100,000 from the national Siemens science contest, and now it has been suggested that her research could lead to a potential cure for cancer.
"I created a nanoparticle that's kind of like the Swiss Army knife of cancer treatment in that it can detect cancer cells, eradicate the cancer cells and then monitor the treatment response. So the major aim of the project was to personalize cancer medicine," Zhang told ABC News.
The teen began reading doctorate level work on bio-engineering when she was a freshman. She admitted it was a "little bit overwhelming" at first, but she quickly caught the hang of it, and by junior year the rest was history.
"I'm excited to learn just everything possible," Zhang said in the above video interview with CBS News. "Everything in the sciences -- biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, even computer science -- to make new innovations possible."
This has been an exciting month for teen girls and science: Earlier this week, an inspiring homeless teenager, Samantha Garvey, was honored in a prestigious science competition. After word spread about her accomplishment, she was given a home. The three amazing teen 2011 Google Science Fair winners also gave TED Talks about their incredible research, which you can watch here.

THIS is the future of medicine, and will replace cutting people open!! Already, they've been able to extract people's own stemcells from their hips, grow them, and re-introduce them into trouble spots, such as degenerating discs!
I also love the TED talks. Nanites have been around for awhile, but tailoring them is an art to themselves. It's exciting, as long as people leave the scary science fiction aspects where they belong: in the entertainment section, and don't fear Nanotechnology.

Canadian Researchers Find Long-Awaited Cure using “Dichloroacetate”

No hoaxes, no rumours, this is the real deal. Researchers at the University of Alberta’s Department of Medicine have discovered a simple and inexpensive drug that is proven to kill cancer cells.
This drug, dichloroacetate (DCA), changes the metabolism of cancer cells and causes them to age and die, a feat that is alien to cancer cells and stops them from otherwise destroying the human body.
Dr.Michelakis and his team at the University of Alberta have been heavily researching the effects of DCA on non-human models since 2007. The team published its findings in that year and since then has proceeded to prove the success of DCA on human cancer cell samples and recently on actual human subjects.
Michelakis’ project is in dire need of funding at this very crucial stage of the research, as the majority of the breakthrough has already been unearthed. Fine-tuning on the findings—such as making the drug safe on all human recipients, as well as scoring out the side effects of the drug—still needs to be done.
If DCA becomes successful in the cure for cancer, it may eliminate the plethora of chemotherapy drugs that rake in millions for pharmaceutical companies each year.
With adequate funding and media attention, Michelakis’ cancer curing team may well accomplish what the twenty-first century had thought was impossible: an end to the baffling and invincible disease that is cancer.
Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada. Cancer.org cites that “[a]n estimated 177,800 new cases of cancer … and 75,000 deaths from cancer will occur in Canada in 2011.” The organization also states in their recent findings of 2011 that 40% of women and 45% of men in Canada will develop cancer during their lifetimes.
For the Canadian population that is headed for these horrifying numbers, as well as for the entire global population, the discovery of DCA effect on cancer represents a wave of concrete and substantial hope.

Proof that the cancer industry doesn’t want a cure – even if it’s a pharmaceutical

(NaturalNews) A safe and effective cure for cancer has been discovered with a drug that was once used for unusual metabolic problems. Yet, the cancer industry shows no interest with following up on dichloroacetate (DCA) research from University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, reported in 2007. That’s because DCA is no longer patented. (1)
That research also confirmed cancer as a metabolic malfunction, not a weird mutation of cells often explained away as a genetic issue. But the medical mafia doesn’t want you to hear about it. But it confirms what most alternative cancer therapists already know.
Since Nixon declared the “war on cancer” in the 1970s, the cancer industry has succeeded with raising money for researching very expensive chemo substances at $50,000 to $100,000 per round or more for toxic therapies that rarely work. (2)

Explaining DCA research results
Evangelos Michelakis and the Alberta University research team tested DCA on human cancer cells outside the body and in cancerous mice with profound success. DCA was once used for unusual metabolic disorders. The worst side effects, which rarely occur, include some numbness and an affected gait.
The mice were fed DCA in water, and in weeks they had remarkable tumor shrinkage. This indicates DCA can be taken orally. DCA works by restoring the cells’ mitochondria. Michelakis and his team had discovered that the mitochondria in cancer cells are not permanently damaged and irreparable. This is what mainstream medicine thinks.
With mitochondria malfunctioning, cancer cells use glucose fermentation for survival energy. This fermentation occurs when glycolysis (glucose conversion) occurs in an anaerobic cellular environment, which can be created by benign tumor masses, toxins, and low pH levels.
DCA restores mitochondria in cells to make them function properly. Another function of normal mitochondria is signaling apoptosis, or cellular self destruction. Normal cells die and become replaced constantly. But with cancer cells, the apoptosis signal is nullified, making cancer cells “immortal.” (3)
The Alberta University researchers also realized that glycolysis fermentation in cancer cells produces lactic acid. The lactic acid breaks down the collagen holding those cells together in a tumor. This allows cancer cells to easily break away from a tumor shrinking with mainstream therapies.
The researchers reasoned this is why cancer metastasizes or spreads to different parts of the body or reappears after remission from chemo.
Tragic hypocrisy
Alternative cancer therapies have little or no problem with metastatic cancer or even cancer reoccurring after remission. Most alternative cancers simply cure cancers completely.
DCA offers the cancer industry an opportunity to come up with a pharmaceutical cure that is much cheaper and safer than their current standard of care. Yet the cancer industry is ignoring this opportunity. Instead, DCA is a homeless orphan begging for research funds to avoid legal issues with off label use on cancer. (4)
Alternative cancer practitioners have always simply tried out and when they succeeded shared them with others who cared more about healing than money and power.
The medical mafia has created a matrix that demands big bucks to make big bucks for sick care instead of curing. Everyone in on the scam makes out financially. "The single most important thing I need to stress is that "cancer" is not one specific disease with one specific treatment. and there are no treatments without side effects.
Here's what I can sum up for you about DCA. I'm going to try to be as general as I can, but this is NOT a simple, cut and dry topic. However every link below should connect to an actual published, peer-reviewed study or at least an abstract (not some wikipedia link) to guide your own research.
DCA is a pyruvate mimetic compound that stimulates mitochondrial function by inhibiting the family of regulatory pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases (PDK1-4). The stimulation of mitochondrial function, at the expense of glycolysis, reverses the Warburg effect and is thought to block the growth advantage of highly glycolytic tumors. (Basically, cancer cells eat more and grow more, DCA is thought to alter that tumor's metabolism). It has been used for about 30 years or so to treat mitochondrial disorders, and is currently under investigation as a possible cancer therapy.
However, research has run into a problem evaluating DCA for cancer. The weird thing seems to be that there is a marked difference in the way DCA appears to act in a dish, the way it appears to act in animals, and the way it appears to act in humans.
This peculiarity alone may take years of research and tons of money to understand, mostly because in vitro (dish) analysis is usually the first step in evaluating potential new compounds, and it may suggest that there are things about tumor growth and metabolism which have yet to be understood properly enough to evaluate the effectiveness of DCA.
From what I have read, DCA does have toxic effects, which seem to be mainly neuropathies and adverse effects on the liver.
Another problem is that DCA has a long history of being studied as a pollutant, cause of tumors in mice,and possible disease in humans particularly in association with other toxic hydrocarbons in superfund sites.
Simply take into consideration the idea of how carefully you would want to study something that was previously investigated as a toxin and pollutant, and you're not sure yet how it exactly works. You'd probably want to be as thorough as possible before handing it out like candy in oncology wards across the world, regardless of how much money is involved.
On the whole, DCA seems to show promise in some forms of cancer, mainly by acting on the tumor's metabolic pathways in a manner not yet clearly understood. A DCA treatment protocol will still take man hours, years, dollars, and whatever comes of it, beneficial or not, it will certainly not be a miracle cure.
Now comes the problem with dealing with profit for "BIG PHARMA". A lot of this seems to stem from the article here, and is of course debatable and could easily devolve into heated, off-topic debates.
Most people need to understand that what they think of as the "BIG PHARMA" is actually thousands of independent international interests including pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, clinics, regulatory agencies at local, state, federal levels, research firms, laboratories, universities, philanthropic organizations who provide grant funding, insurance providers, government and military agencies, oversight comittees, educational institutions, marketing firms, legal firms, advertising agencies, all the way down to individual medical personnel and the guy who empties the bedpans. The interaction between the way these entities compete and cooperate with each other is complex, to say the least and there is indeed much room for critique of the system as it currently stands, but to lump the whole thing under some "BIG PHARMA" cabal run by Satan and Darth Vader from atop a gigantic pile of money is a bit naive. If there is real promise in DCA, someone will find it, someone will fund it and despite any bureaucratic or economic hiccups, it will get to market, because there is no one out there profit-driven or not, who wouldn't want to sell their products with the label "From The Company Who Cured Cancer".
