Title: Michael necklace in TII
Post by: Wildy on November 24, 2009, 07:46:40 PM
I was wondering if the necklace he wears on TII is a buddhist one (a mala)?
If it is, maybe we can look at the reincarnation theory because the number "7" is really important in this !!

I know he wasn't buddhist but he always did the namaste sign and then I saw this necklace.. Just wondering, I don't know if it can be a clue or not.

According to the Esoteric School, the number seven is the ultimate number in the cycle of Birth and Death. Therefore, in the bardo stage, the "soul" must undergo changes every seven days, and to be efficacious, mantras should be recited at least seven times. Buddhist texts note this with the words "the Dharma is thus," i.e., according to the law of nature it has to be that way and cannot be explained, just as it is difficult to explain why fire is hot and ice is cold. Starting with the number seven and multiplying it by three or seven, we have twenty-one or forty-nine. Therefore, the Esoteric School teaches that mantras should be recited [at least] seven times to be effective, twenty-one or forty-nine times if the mind is weak and agitated. Thus, basing themselves on this teaching, practitioners arrange retreat periods of seven, twenty-one or forty-nine days.

Hmmmm. Maybe. But it just looks like a wooden bead necklace to me. I didn't know what a mala was so I looked it up. Mala's look like they almost always have tassels on them. I don't see a tassel on his.
I used to have a bracelet that looked like his necklace and it wasn't connected to any religion....that I know of.
Uhh....I just found a bracelet that looked like another one I had, similar to the one I was talking about. Maybe it is Buddhist....i don't know. Now I wonder how many people thought I was a Buddhist   All well. People now think I'm a Kabbalist. I simply found a red string on the ground, liked it, and decided to wear it. lol

So.....I really don't know, but it's interesting!

It looks like a Buddhist rosary.  Those have have 108 beads, representing the 108 human passions.

I think it's a buddhist rosary, people pray with the necklace in their hands and stuff.

I started this topic because I thought it could be a clue  :?
It's all about the "seven", the birth & death etc.. so I don't know, I'm sorry if I'm wrong  :|
I think we all want to know the truth and find many clues as possible  :geek:

Mala/prayer beads are used for meditation which does not need a religion attached to it  ;) ...

"What is a Meditation Mala?

A mala is a string of 108 beads with one bead as the summit bead called a 'sumeru'.

It is a tool used to keep your mind on the meditation practice. Malas are generally made from different materials such as tulsi (basil) wood, sandal wood, rudraksh seeds or crystal. Each type of material has certain properties which subtly affect the subconscious mind of the practitioner.

Why use the Mala?

Meditation can be quite a tricky practice because the mind is like a naughty child. By its very nature, the mind tends to wander off during the meditation practice. If ones energy is low at the time of meditation, falling asleep can result. If the energy is too high, fantasy and distraction become the barriers. At such times, the mala provides the much needed anchor.

The mala beads are moved in rhythm with the breath and the mantra, so that both-sleep as well as excessive mental distraction-are prevented by this action upon the beads.

For wearing: A personal mala is a wonderful accessory to meditation, which when used regularly with a personal mantra, absorbs the vibrations of the practice. It becomes like a close friend or a comfortable piece of clothing!"

Maybe Mihael has a buddhist theory because he loves their message ? i mean it's peace, and love and nature. Even if he's not buffhist he can find the neclkace beautiful too. Or it can be a gift

Yes, prayer pearls, he very often carried these pearls during the last months.
Can you still remember to the dreadful pictures of news of the World the "dead person's bed" of MJ?
This chain lay in the pictures on the bed, this was so cruel.
This hurt me and I had fear he had really died at that time, however, thank God I have big hope and belief he lives.

That's the Islamic beads
I'm not saying that the rumors about him being a Muslim is true
I dont know anything about it
But what I do know is that the necklace is the beads Muslims use for prayers
Some people not only use it for prayers
They hang it on the mirror in their cars,in their houses, use them as necklaces or bracelets, etc.

True, those are Islamic beads. I have the exact same ones with the same color.
They not so unknown to Michael, Jermaine uses them too so maybe Michael liked them and decided to wear them as a necklace. ;)

They could be a Mesbeha (Islamic prayer beads) most likely because Jermain is Muslim and according to him he did share Islamc books and such with MJ and Mesbeha are a very popular gift to give.  The Mesbeha can be used in two ways, the first way the wearer recites one of God's names for each of the 99 beads.  (In Islam God has 99 names to describe him like the most merciful, the most benevolent, the most high, etc.)  The other way they can be used is to make "thickr" which is using each bead to say alhamdulillah (Thanks God) subhanAllah (God the most Glorius) and Allah uakbar (God is the Most Great)  It seems to be most popular to carry them around in the hand so they can be used but some people do wear them.  These wooden beads are a very popular type because the more you use them the smoother the wood gets and a sheen develops on them.
