Thread is not directly hoax related but indirect part of our socio-economic landscape. Author Naomi Klein writes about how Disaster Capitalism exploits vulnerabilities to generate money.

Her book in has been out for years but as capitalism implodes, there seems to be a proliferation of global disasters attesting to fact that disaster capitalism has become commonplace as to almost be a mainstream economy. Whistleblowers or Dissenters fight corporations and demand transparency and accountability. Other people fight back using the internet to viral news.
Disaster capitalism tentacles reach into all areas now:
Bilderbergs, Illuminati
Bird flu
Swine flu
earthquakes
9/11
Katrina
global warming
BP
HAARP
bankruptcies
jobless recovery'(?, oxymoron to me)
etc

Have you read this book?
I have this book on my table now. It's gonna be 565 pages (not one picture), so it's gonna be a heavy read, but interesting.

I hardly know what to say about electro-shock therapy. My mother (dead long time), had sexual abuse as a child that messed her up royally, very suicidal, and in and out of mental institutions all my (and siblings) childhood so I didn't really know her at all. She received EST several times, took tons of meds, and I think her mind became dull as the years went by and she suddenly died at age 50, from change in meds we think (long story). My friend's mom also had major depression and she swears her mother was really helped by EST every time. Obviously it is a last resort when nothing else seems to work. Severe depression or mental illness is not easy to "cure". I don't think they do EST anymore. Some mentally ill people are a danger to themselves and others, and may require severe treatments.
Sometimes I think these people looking for evil central power agendas, go too far in connecting everything. As the race for discovering solutions and cures for illness continued there was a mix of helpful and hurtful in the process. Trial and error. That doesn't mean I don't believe in the existence of mind-controlled slaves and corrupt agendas. JMO
