Prince Involved In New Michael Jackson Release?

Sony Records began pre-selling the new MICHAEL release recently (CD and DVD).
The cover, designed by painter Kadir Nelson, is a collage of MJ pics and icons. If you look REALLY closely at the tiger on the right hand side, you’ll notice the Prince symbol floating in a glass orb. Yes, THAT Prince symbol.
Someone sent it to us and at first we thought it was a Photoshop hoax, but when you visit the Sony website and check out the album artwork, it’s very clearly there.
So was Prince involved somehow in one or more of the tracks on the new release? According to Sony, Kadir’s painting was created in 2009 and “takes us on a journey through some key moments and important people in Michael Jackson’s life.”
Whether Prince and MJ collaborated or Prince was just considered “important people” in MJ’s life remains to be seen. If there is a Prince/MJ collaboration, we definitely want to hear it!
To add to the mystery: Next Monday, November 8th, michaeljackson.com will world premiere “Breaking News,” a full track from the album. It was recorded in New Jersey in 2007.

I think thru the years many people have also underestimated Prince and I wouldn't be surprised if these two are in collaboration in some way. Isn't there an interview clip of Prince saying that "Michael knows more than you think"? but he never divulged anything more..hmmm

I always followed Prince , is a great musician and a very intelligent person. I went to see him in a wonderful concert here in Italy, in Milan, two days ago. He performed a series of cover songs including "Shake your body down to the ground" of the Jackson Five, but not a word about Michael, did not seem to me, but I could be wrong. It seems strange that he never said anything in memory of Michael, does anyone know if in some interviews?
I think it is Prince who must know something.

Despite what the media led us to believe (or maybe what they were led to believe themselves) I wouldn't be surprised if they were close, Prince is being very cryptic in the video but he knows something big alright. Maybe Michael chose the name Prince for his sons for some other reason than the media assumption that he was fixated on being King of Pop and like royalty. I always felt kinda guilty liking Prince songs as a kid as it somehow seemed disloyal to MJ who I adored, now all that guilt has left me!

US: You also knew Prince. That's very interesting because Prince and your uncle didn’t get along so well, right?
AB: That's actually not true! My uncle actually told me a couple years ago that they talked about doing stuff together again, but it just never happened. When I saw Prince a few years back he was giving my uncle props and saying how much he loved his voice. So I don't know how true it is that they didn't get along because that's not what I saw.

He named his children PRINCE after his mothers father. He grandfathers name was Prince. :)

Go back to the Sony MJ online store and look again. If the Prince symbol was there before, it's gone now. Maybe because they said "no permission was granted."

The video was done in 1999, to announce his new years gig, rave unto the year 2000 .........
On june 7th 1993 – Prince announces he will change his name to an unpronounceable symbol 0(+> (for legal reason)
On the Come album he declares prince "dead".....
On may 16 2000 he reclaims the name "Prince"
Just noticed: the album cover artist is called Nelson Kadir, Prince's full name is Prince Rogers Nelson......

Okay thanks for that, it was only a half-joke actually I don't think they were THAT close! :lol: I love that fact that they were in fact friendly with each other. It's a pity the media wasn't called out on it but then again maybe MJ and Prince chose to let it slide as it made for yet more intrigue! As a kid growing up it always seemed to me that Prince was made out to be the one that had the problem with MJ, less so the other way round. So I had less respect for him than I should which I'm annoyed about now. I always respected him as a genius musician but back then it was almost as if you had to choose which one to be a fan of, yet more media puppeteering!!! :evil:

This got me all excited, not because I think Prince is in on this so called hoax (which might not even exist) but because of the possibility that MJ and Prince might have done some collaborations! I can't explain how that makes me feel, it's just... BRILLIANT! But then again the sign might just mean that Prince was important in Michael's life which I believe he was (the creative life).
But now they've removed it right? Anyone who knows if Prince might have been involved in that? If so, my excitement just turned to that familiar feeling again - sadness...

hmmmm never believe the media and they tried to do this beef between Prince and Michael but I just saw it as healthy competition just because they didn't make music together doesn't mean they weren't close
