Title: MAKE THAT CHANGE!
Post by: PureLove on November 03, 2010, 08:45:36 PM
Firstly I want to thank Souza and Mo for creating this section. And second of all, I'm asking you to make this section as the center of our new movement! I want to paste the post I made to make you all remember what it was about.

Quote from: "PureLove"
Everybody is talking about MAKING A CHANGE, but nobody is talking about how we are going to make it. We should have a plan, we should organize things! What are we going to do? How are we going to make that change? I see everyone writes it everywhere; Let's make a change, help others, save the world etc. But I wish I could see the same effort in DOING things as in writing it. This forum shouldn't stay as a hoax forum only, this forum has to be the center of that change! If we are the Army of LOVE, if we are the ones who will start to make that change, then we should start talking about how we are going to make it! We have to MOVE TOGETHER! For example, we should start doing something all together as members of this forum, as soldiers of Michael Jackson. We tried to tell the media about the hoax and it didn't work out. We tried to tell non-believers about the truth and it didn't work out as well. Is this it? Are we going to sit back and wait till Michael comes back? I know that Michael's return is a must for us to spread the message to everyone but I believe that there're things that we can do before and after his return. I don't want the things that we talk we're going to do, to stay on the forum only but we DO them for real! I know that almost all of us, or maybe all of us try to spread the hidden truth to everyone we know but is it enough? NO! We should do more, we should give more!

How about publishing a Newspaper and deliver it to people at the streets? How about starting to choose an orphanage every month and make donations? How about chosing an area and start planting trees?

I know that most of us are trying to do all of these by ourselves and some of us just write what we want to do. But how about making these all together? How about making this forum the center of the CHANGE? We're THOUSANDS of people here! If we unite and dedicate ourselves to make that change for real, we can save the planet, we can save the humanity! It's all for LOVE, it's all for Michael, it's all for us, it's all for the planet! So what do you soldiers say? Are you with me? Are you with Michael? Are you ready to unite, raise your voice and MAKE THAT CHANGE for real?

It is important to move together. Let's unite and let's show the world how we can make a change. This part is about children, so I believe we can start with an orphanage and make our donations. Pls make a post under this one if you would like to join this.

I think this is great idea!

What about volunteering as well as donating money? Even the children in our own neighborhoods really need love. Even the ones who have a roof over their head and dinner on the table, many of them do not get the love and attention they deserve and need, and then they grow up without knowing how to love. The result is all the angry, sad, frustrated, and lost that we see everywhere. Perhaps we could find some kind of volunteer program that we could participate in having to do with children? Donating money is WONDERFUL especially for those charities and orphanages that really do need the money to keep their efforts going. But for those who cannot afford to donate, or for those who have the extra time, volunteering would be a great way to help children (and it's good for the soul, I would find any excuse to hang out with kids all day, I just love them!)  :)

But definitely count me in for this and for whatever else we decide to do. I'm all in!!

Jaci, as I wrote at my first post, this movement is about ACTING ALL TOGETHER! :) And I do believe that everyone can donate something. You don't have to be a billionaire to do some donations. If you have money to afford your taxes and the internet then you can donate some of it to people in need. If you have 10$, give 5$ of it to someone else. If you have 2 t-shirts, give one of them to someone who doesn't have any. You don't need to donate millions. You know what I'm saying? Or it doesn't need to be money. We can send books, clothes etc. It's about to SHARE. And if you want to share and give the world more, it is easy to find solutions. Pls keep on doing your personal charity which is AMAZING but here let's talk about the things we're going to do ALL TOGETHER as the soldiers of LOVE. Because it can cause a confusion if we write about our personal charities. Let's focus on this thing. Don't you think it's a better idea? First of let's pick up an orphanage that we're going to make the donations. How about that? :)

Excellent initiative everybody! I for one am truly moved by the disasters occurred in Haiti and I cannot imagine the pain and misery those people have to endure... My heart goes out to all of them and especially to the helpless children, who have been deprived of a real chance to a decent life, to education, love, happiness and everything we aim to and don't feel impossible to achieve... for them it is, sadly. Can we make a difference?

We can choose from these organizations (or others, if you find) the most effective or trustworthy ones and help in every way we can - donating money, buying products, contributing somehow to their rescue. We can bring a mild relief to their pain or at least do our best:

http://www.centerofhope-haiti.org/ (http://www.centerofhope-haiti.org/)
http://www.haitichildren.com/ (http://www.haitichildren.com/)
http://www.helphaitinow.org/ (http://www.helphaitinow.org/)

In the meantime, we should be careful where we send our hearts and help to, because not everybody is part of the Army of Love. This might be helpful: http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/a ... scams.html (http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/186887/fbi_warns_of_bogus_haiti_online_donation_scams.html)

There are so many places to start.  I like to "think globally and act locally"  I too am very concerned about Haiti, especially the children and the devastation of natural disasters but also the lack of protection for children resulting in child rape and slavery.  I hope to speak out about these issues because child rape and human trafficking is happening everywhere.

And, in my own backyard in the US, there are children who go to school hungry or don't go to school at all and nobody is paying attention.  Social workers and child protective services are completely overwhelmed and understaffed.   The level of psychological homelessness and spiritual hunger is in the eyes of many young and old, from those who've grown up destitute to those getting the best education in the world... Even a smile at a stranger may go a long way.  That stranger might be the life you save today  just by a small act of kindness.  Volunteer in some local agency serving children and families!

I like Make A Wish Foundation because they seem to have a strong, proven, comprehensive track record.

Ok so first of we need to have a plan to organize this thing. Here's the plan:

1- Selecting an orphanage to donate
2- Making a post or posts if needed to make every member on this forum hear about our campaign.
3- Spread the message about the campaign on Twitter/Facebook etc
4- And finally, making the donation.

Ok, here're the orphanages you guys offered:

a- http://www.centerofhope-haiti.org/ (http://www.centerofhope-haiti.org/)
b- http://www.haitichildren.com/ (http://www.haitichildren.com/)
c- http://www.helphaitinow.org/ (http://www.helphaitinow.org/)
d- http://www.zimbabweorphanageproject.org/ (http://www.zimbabweorphanageproject.org/)
e- http://www.healtheworldfoundation.org/members/htwf (http://www.healtheworldfoundation.org/members/htwf)
f- http://www.wish.org/help/donate (http://www.wish.org/help/donate)
g- http://www.charitywater.org/ (http://www.charitywater.org/)

Please let me know if you would like to add more to this list and then we will be choosing the one we will starting to make the change. :) And finally I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your contributions to this post. This means a lot to me.

This feels like it's all about the Army collectively doing this together. I'm sure many here already give and support  various charity organizations as individuals. Feels like a mission for MJ's Army of L.O.V.E............love in action.

1- http://www.centerofhope-haiti.org/ (http://www.centerofhope-haiti.org/)
2- http://www.haitichildren.com/ (http://www.haitichildren.com/)
3- http://www.helphaitinow.org/ (http://www.helphaitinow.org/)
4- http://www.zimbabweorphanageproject.org/ (http://www.zimbabweorphanageproject.org/)
5- http://www.healtheworldfoundation.org/members/htwf (http://www.healtheworldfoundation.org/members/htwf)
6- http://www.wish.org/help/donate (http://www.wish.org/help/donate)
7- http://www.charitywater.org/ (http://www.charitywater.org/)
8- http://www.ffcin.org/ (http://www.ffcin.org/)

Please let me know which one you prefer to start with. Thank you. :)

With Haiti must be very careful, there they are running about 10,000 NGOs and nobody monitors are "black boxes" should be well informed who will have to send donations, I would say that given that there Confucianism Haiti is better to donate food, clothing and medicine, not money.

Let's give TS a chance to have a say in this.

That can be a good idea. Should I ask TS to make the choice for us? But first of, we need to let everyone learn about this movement. I don't know if it will be a problem if I make a post on different parts of the forum. I'll ask Souza and Mo about it first.

If you really want to make a change and reach the masses, this needs to be more organized. Something is agreed on here and most people haven't even seen the thread. I told you yesterday, take a deep breath first and think it through. It doesn't have to be done right now, we should take the time to organize things, inform everyone and get everyone on the same page, promote it on twitter and with the non-believers etc. This way maybe a handful will donate. It's better to have a thousand people donate in a week, maybe two, than just a handful because you want to rush it.

I als think we should take a look at Badkolo's idea: viewtopic.php?f=72&t=15363&start=50#p257211 (http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=15363&start=50#p257211)

I think this will motivate people and we can work towards a goal. I think $5,000.00 for each charity chosen is a good idea, it should be doable with this many people and it's a lot of money to receive just at once. We also can see whether the money is really donated and no one of us have to manage the money.
I also think we should do a poll first with some verified charities, to and ask everyone on the forum first what they want to start with, because I will say it again: we can't just donate to every charity foundation, we want to make sure the money will reach those who need it, and not the CEOs. Please stop the rush, it won't do good for the amount of people that will donate and we only want verfified and trustworthy foundations. I really hope you won't think again I am being harsh, but this can't be done in half a day and all of us should be involved before we make any decisions.

We don't need TS to choose for us, because we can think for ourselves and I think we will be very able to choose a good first charity, as long as we unite, and that doesn't mean we are already deciding to donate while most of the members haven't even been able to participate in the discussion.

I was about to make the post Souza. Thank you. I'm so excited. This is such an amazing plan! :)

Here's what Badkolo posted and I think it is such a great idea. But still we can continue to talk here about where we can make the donations and who would like to join etc. Pls tell me what you guys think about Badkolo's idea. :)

Quote from: "badkolo"
We can open a Sub Site, There can be a main header/gfx/description etc..
Then a signature list. Each person that donates gets there Name on the Army of L.O.V.E list. The list will be only for the ones that donated.
A specific charity or foundation can be chosen, legaly easier to choose one specific charity or foundation that is verified.
The money that is donated which can be 1 dollar and beyond will go into a special escrow foundation.charity account. It will be overseen by The Escrow company so no Hanky panky can happen in any way and no legal issues can be brought.
Once the Goal is achieved at whatever number that is set(ie, $5000) from the donations which will be shown on top of the signatures then the escrow will announce that money has been sent to the charity/foundation everyone chose to donate to. then a new charity can be chosen from that point on and it just continues.

What ya think.

Hi!

Can you please add Hannah Orphanage in Ethiopia to this list as well:
http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=14100#p239207

There is a website and officially registered charity set-up in the UK - donations can be made via paypal.

With L.O.V.E

PS: Agree with Souza - People need to be given the time to contribute to the thread --- One needs not to assume that SILENCE means NOT INTERESTED, it may mean BUSY!

I want to make a change! 'Silence' for me so far meant mulling things over and busy! It's right that we should actually start DOING something as a group, so thank you to PureLove for starting the ball rolling and to everyone else who's given suggestions so far.

I agree with Souza that we need to think this through and be clear of our intentions. I'll be honest and say that I'm unsure if our ideas so far point to our aim being to reach the masses re Michael in some way, or whether we are simply coming together as a group to start making charitable donations. Or maybe it's both! Having discussions here and on the TIAI 11/3 and 11/4 threads isn't necessarily helpful to time pushed members! Could we look at keeping all the discussions in one place? (Please!)

Personally, I think we should start simply - if we try too much at once things will be watered down as there's only so much that any of us can do, both in terms of money and time.

I favour choosing just one or two charities that we all agree on, to start with, until we see how it works out, and donating as per Badkolo's suggestion. I'd personally just want to look into Escrow first, to be happy that this would be a safe way for the donations to be handled, as I know nothing about it.  Badkolo, or anyone, have you any experience of using it already?

One more thing (for now!), I don't like the idea of having names on a 'donation list' - that's akin to naming and shaming those who aren't participating, or naming and praising those who are. I would personally prefer to do this quietly and anonymously.

Love you all! xx

Cross post from the TIAI 11/03 thread:

Quote from: "*Mo*"

PureLove, I'm excited and happy as well about this positive development as well as I understand and share your enthusiasm but...let's take one step at the time.  Remember, Rome wasn't built in one day either.  ;)

This whole new turn needs to be looked into, worked out and a plan has to be created.  If we just rush into things the chance of not succeeding is big, and that's something we wouldn't want.  Failing or a messy action would harm the initiative.  We can only start this once, so I strongly suggest we first create a solid foundation to start from.

I want to add that if someone wants to take the initiative to run a website for all this, I am fully prepared to design a website for it, at no costs of course.  If desired, I will provide a fully functioning website, but the initiator will have to take care of the updates him/herself.

I go on a website called Care2 and I would love it if more people go on it. There is a click to donate feature where all you have to do to give to charities is click. It lists their sponsers that make this happen. Care2 also has articles, petitions and lots of other things to help make the world a better place. I really recommend it x

Thank you so much for all of your participation. Did you guys read what Badkolo write? I think a new web-page is going to be created for us to meet up and start making the donations in a safe way. But I don't know when it is going to be done and by who. And there will be a list and your names are going to be on that list if I didn't get it wrong. I read some of you do not want to have the names on the donation list in which Badkolo mentioned. Do you guys want to wait till the new web-site is created or do you want to keep on talking about the donation issue here and try to spread the news to other members of the forum? We're not in a rush, so no need to worry about that. We're just sharing where to and how to begin.

We have RunningGirl here who made the donation before, so I think she can help us about the issue. It depends on what you guys think but just let me know about it pls. And here's the new list of the orphanages that we can make our first donation to:

DearCurls, thanks for posting these thoughts which echo my own on this subject - especially the part about keeping donations anonymous.  This has always been Michael's way of doing it and I think we should follow his example.

I applaud everyone's enthusiasm and all the wonderful suggestions, and I too believe it's time to put our faith into action.  However, rather than jump in boots and all, I think the slow and steady approach is the best way to go.  Once we have a cohesive plan of action up and running, it will be easier to draw others in.  Some people need  very little time to become enthused, and then there are others who need to "warm" to an idea and give it a lot of time and reflection.

We all have our own unique gifts and talents and ways we can put them into action, either individually or as a collective group.  Being encouraged to share these gifts and talents is the key to the success of this venture.  People can do amazing things with a little praise and encouragement.  I hope the encouragers amongst us will join forces and get behind the ones who are great at organising and making things happen.  It's all about teamwork and not letting anyone feel left out or inadequate.  That's why the slow and steady approach will reap the best results IMO.

Thank you Mo & Souza for making a separate forum for charities - a tangible way we can put LOVE into action.  I hope we really can COME TOGETHER and make small changes to begin with that will have a ripple effect all over the planet.  I love all my fellow soldiers on this amazing journey  :D

Great job guys as always!
Forgive me if my idea is stupid because I do not know if and how it can be done, but I was thinking if we make it as easy as possible on how to donate so even those who come here just to read will be encouraged to contribute. For example, you can create "sms solidarity" and "contribution from a land line" so even those without the availability of cash or those who are not able to make payments online or can not do it so they too can participate in

Ok, so what do we do? Are we going to wait till the new web-page created? Some of you say that you don't want your names to be seen on the donation list. I don't know if we can find a solution to this. I think to be anonymous is way so much better too. Are there any volunteers to create the web-page? Or is the new section of the Charities of this forum is enough for us? Need your opinions guys.

Looks like this thread died on Nov 7! I just now got around to reading up in this section and making my own posts. I'm not sure if I was suppose to start a new thread about the site I wanted to support or if it is suppose to be put in this list or??? Anyhow I vote for  http://feedathousand.org/wp/ (http://feedathousand.org/wp/) to be added to the list! Thanks and what IS happening with the Charity list donation by the group thing? I liked Badkolo's idea, and I also liked the water charity alot! Maybe if I keep reading I'll find out where this thread has gone too?! LOL!!

We are working on a site, http://www.michaelsarmyoflove.com (http://www.michaelsarmyoflove.com)

It's on hold for a few weeks, because I am moving into my new apartment, but will work on it again when I am settled. Here is the thread about the site: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=15712 (http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=15712)

New ideas are always very welcome!

I'm listening and I'm willing to donate.  Are we going to choose a single charity?  Will this be an annual undertaking? That way we could make more of an impact.  Just an idea, but I'm down with it whatever we decide.   Since the death of my son, I have always provided temporary shelter for displaced  boys in my home.  Girls always have places willing to accommodate them, but boys are treated like 2nd class citizens.  Did you know that battered women's shelters do not allow boys over age 14 to go in with their mothers?  Girls can, but not the boys.  That is heart breaking.

Yesterday i visited an orphanage with a lot of presents for the kids living there, it may seem a trifle for  some but it is the first big change that i've made, it is really very huge for me, Michael has inspired me to do so, they were so happy and excited, at that moment i  felt really happy.

God bless you MM!
It's not about presents, it's about noticing them at all and giving them your time and attention.
Imagine how you would feel having lost your parents, being left alone, and nobody is even noticing you or your tremendous loss.
It's being there that makes a change and gives a smile back.
Have a wonderful new year, MM!

I'm so sorry to hear about your son. :( In my opinion we should choose different charities everytime. That was the reason why I asked if you guys had any ideas where we can donate. And we made a list where we can donate. As soon as the web-page is done, we will start doing it all together. Many thanks again to Souza for making the new page for us all. God bless all of you.

i love this new thread. i think helping children is so important. I used to work in the entertainments industry and loved the whole life style and the job but on the day that i thought we lost MJ i had a good hard look at my life and what i had done and wanted to be more like MJ and help people.

I now work with children who are in care, Through neglect or abuse and although its difficult i hope one day i can make that change. I have even turned a few into Mj fans lol.

We really should be helping the children of the world and giving them hope xx
