Clark Gable's Tomb -- Vandalized with a Kiss
Originally posted Jun 6th 2010 12:15 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

Clark Gable's marble tomb at Forest Lawn Cemetery has been so badly damaged it needs a total overhaul -- and it's all because one adoring fan couldn't keep her lips to herself.

TMZ spoke with John Clark Gable -- the famous actor's son -- who tells us he noticed the smooch last month during a visit to the mausoleum.

Gable tells us that the lipstick bandit has struck several times in the past -- but they've always been able to easily wipe off the mark ... that is, until now.  This time, the stain is so bad, Forest Lawn had to dispatch their in-house marble repair team to fix the damage.

Gable also noted that his father is entombed in the same mausoleum as Michael Jackson -- and warns that if MJ fans are allowed into the place, they could accidentally damage some of the surrounding tombs.

As for the Lipstick Bandit -- Gable tells us security will "keep an eye out" in case she strikes again.

Yep, was the first thing I thought as well. So if you are an MJ fan you don't have access, so MJ fans better turn into Clark Gable fans, because they can go into the mausoleum. Easy as that.

Clark Gable is in the Great Mausoleum witch was opened for public viewing...not behind the Holly Terrace :

http://www.seeing-stars.com/Maps/Forest ... eumMap.JPG (http://www.seeing-stars.com/Maps/ForestLawnGlendaleGreatMausoleumMap.JPG)

Here again and here you see Michael Jackson was the only one on Holly Terrace....but Holly Terrace is outside the Mausoleum   every other was placed in any part inside.
And from the others they are written the day ot death...Michael had the 25.June and the 03. September...the only one who has it.

There are not mentioned the Ascension windows and when i surch them i only can find articles with Michael and the Windows....not before the " death" and there and the Holly Terrace and the Marble Tomb arn't emntioned at the official side from Forrest Lawn...i read anywhere that the " fans " they are visiting the place are always the same....is this all a film set ?

Clark Gable's tomb is inside the Great Mausoleum, in the Sanctuary of Trust.

Now take a look at this:

To get to Clark Gable's tomb you need to take entrance B, Memorial terrace, entrance to the Last Supper window.

To get to Mike's alleged tomb you need to take entrance C, Holly Terrace.

I called Forest Lawn last Wednesday because I wanted to know if you could walk around the entire mausoleum if you enter through the Holly Terrace entrance.  I was told that that's not possible.

I then specifically asked which entrance has to be taken to get to the tomb of WC Fields which is inside Holly Terrace (Plot: Great Mausoleum, Hall of Inspiration, Columbarium of Nativity).

Hall of Inspiration, which is located at the intersection of the Columbarium of Nativity and Sanctuary of the Nativity, according to what the superintendent of the Mausoleum told me:

The superintendent's answer was: "You can only access WC Fields' tomb through the Holly Terrace entrance".

So, Clark Gable is entombed in the same Mausoleum as where Mike is supposed to be entombed, but in case Holly Terrace (entrance C) would be opened to the public, there's no way one can get to Clark Gable's tomb in Memorial Terrace through the Holly Terrace entrance.  Through entrance B ( Memorial Terrace), there's no way to get to Holly Terrace.

The Great Mausoleum is opened for public, but only to access the Memorial Court of Honor, to see The Last Supper Window.  Access to the tombs located there is restricted.

Clark Gable wasn't in the same building. He was near the Last Supper painting in the bigger right building.

I'm just wondering if this kissing Clark Gable's stone or whatever they keep going on about over and over bringing up the dispute from Mr. Gable's relatives about MJ fans....UM is this more than what it seems? Is there something more to this like a hidden message about the hoax inside of all this Gable nonsense, something we are suppose to see or find out...like maybe the MJ crypt is a set or a prop. I've never heard so much run around the rosie block mis guided info on a crypt in my entire life! Elvis was sooooo famous and there was never this sort of just plain goofy hog wash! Come on! We're being toyed with! If they wanted us all banned we would be banned I assure you! And there would be no mistakes about it! Maybe they want us to start poking around the FL perimeter until we figure out exactly what is going on. *ARE WE THERE YET!!!*

I would say that the statement by Clark Gable's grandson "the mausoleum "wouldn't be as sacred" if just anyone could go inside" is ungrounded.

Like I wrote down in my earlier reply to this thread:

That pic of the lipstick mark on Mr Gable's tomb looks like whoever it was tried to give his  cold marble a big open mouthed wet one.  Very strange and why would it be difficult to remove?  Come on TMZ we know MJ is not there and you guys are just stalling.

Yes. And that mouth print is rather large in my opinion. This is so silly and doesn't make any sense at all. It kind of reminds me of the James Brown story a few months ago and the family came back and said it was a false story. Diversion tactics.

Must be time for the padded cell cause that doesn't look like markings in the marble, it appears to be writing that becomes more distorted as it goes further down in lines.
Just adding that I think I see the word comfort  at the start of the dark lines in the marble.

[Ghost are appearing to recall the Sanctuary of Trust.]

This is MJ's face on the marble.

Reminds me of MJ's eyes on the judge's face when Murray was told "I don't want you sedating any people. Jan 8.

I cannot take these Levinesques serious.
Reminds me of cinnamon donuts with ricotta. Bah.

Vandalized with a Kiss or...Sealed with a Kiss..?  ;)

Though we gotta say goodbye for the summer
Baby, I promise you this
I'll send you all my love
Every day in a letter
Sealed with a kiss
Yes, it's gonna be a cold lonely summer
But I'll fill the emptiness
I'll send you all my dreams
Every day in a letter
Sealed with a kiss

I'll see you in the sunlight
I'll hear your voice everywhere
I'll run to tenderly hold you
But baby, you won't be there

I don't wanna say goodbye for the summer
Knowing the love we'll miss
So let us make a pledge
To meet in September
And seal it with a kiss

Yes, it's gonna be a cold lonely summer
But I'll fill the emptiness
I'll send you all my love
Every day in a letter
Sealed with a kiss

Sealed with a kiss
Sealed with a kiss

Feels to me like another excuse to keep the fans from going inside.

Randy has said he has had no complaints from the Gable family...  and as another poster has demonstrated, Gable isnt even in the same area as Holly Terrace.

All this seems to be generated from TMZ.

Also..  so Gable has a fan who likes to show love and kiss his grave.  ITS SHOWING LOVE!!   Seems to be a problem with Gable fans and not MJ fans to me.. i mean, what has this got to do with Michael????

This pic doesn't really look like it was taken by a cell phone.  But...I think these flowers are pretty fresh.  Access to Clark Gable's tomb is restricted, so I would say that a family member recently visited his burial place.

OK, let's get serious again - this is what I understand - hopping into the pool of Levinesque humour.

1) MJ fans cannot disguise as CG fans to try to enter through some back doors and sneak in. (txs to Mo's excellent map explanations)

2) Randy opened the doors for MJ fans to drop off their flowers and pay their respects (he does know what that means, doesn't he?)

3) We learn that there is a IHMRT at FL (in-house marble repair team) which most likely will translate into some fine lady or gent. Could I ask for a date with the IHMRT, I would have some kisses to wipe off, too. Txs for leaving your phone #.
And txs for noticing that this time the love presented is so HUGE that it CANNOT be overseen or wiped away.

4) We learn that leaving lipstick kisses is a crime (well some men don't like lipstick at all, but a crime?)
What is vandalism?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vandalism
"Vandalism is the behaviour attributed to the Vandals, by the Romans, in respect of culture: ruthless destruction  or spoiling of anything beautiful or venerable. Such action includes defacement, graffiti  and criminal damage." [...]
"Historically, vandalism has been justified by painter Gustave Courbet as destruction of monuments symbolizing "war and conquest". Therefore, it is often done as an expression of contempt, creativity, or both" [...]
"Examples of vandalism include salting lawns, cutting trees without permission, egg throwing, breaking windows, arson, spraying paint on others' properties, tagging, placing glue into locks, tire slashing, keying (scratching) paint, ransacking a property, and flooding a house by clogging a sink and leaving the water running."[...]
"Reaction of authorities
In view of its incivility, punishment for vandalism can be particularly severe in some countries. In Singapore, for example, a person who attempts to cause or commits an act of vandalism may be liable to imprisonment for up to 3 years and may also be punished with caning. Vandalism in the UK is construed as an environmental crime and may be punished with an ASBO (Anti-Social Behaviour Order)."[...]
"Vandalism as art
For more details on this topic, see Graffiti.
Graffiti is a common form of vandalism.
Though vandalism in itself is illegal, it is often also an integral part of modern popular culture. French painter Gustave Courbet's attempt to disassemble the Vendôme column during the 1871 Paris Commune was probably one of the first artistic vandalist acts, celebrated at least since Dada performances during World War I. The Vendôme column was considered a symbol of the recently-deposed Second Empire of Napoleon III, and dismantled as such.
After the burning of the Tuileries Palace on May 23, 1871, Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche himself meditated about the "fight against culture", wondering what could justify culture if it were to be destroyed in such a "senseless" manner (the arguments are: culture is justified by works of art and scientific achievements; exploitation is necessary to those achievements, leading to the creation of exploited people who then fight against culture. In this case, culture can't be legitimised by art achievements, and Nietzsche writes: "I {also} know what it means: fighting against culture". After quoting him, Klossowski writes: "The criminal fight against culture is only the reverse side of a criminal culture"
As destruction of monument, vandalism can only have sense in a culture respecting history, archeology - Nietzsche spoke of monumental history. As destruction of monumental history, vandalism was assured a long life (as Herostratus proved): Performance art could make such a claim, as well as Hakim Bey's poetic terrorism or Destroy 2000 Years of Culture from Atari Teenage Riot. "

We remember MJ AIR - "art is resistance" - and could draw a conclusion of "fight with love against a loveless culture"  :?:

5) Btw. the first article in the list when searching TMZ for "Clark Gable" is his grandson, CG3, having been stabbed in the chest, not the article about Clark Gable's Tomb.

This article "Clark Gable's Tomb -- Vandalized with a Kiss" cannot be found by search function, only by direct link. There are two other articles as search result: "Battle Brewing at Michael Jackson's Burial Site" and "http://www.tmz.com/category/bud-55/" translating into an article about Britney spears and her conservatorship.
http://search.tmz.com/search/index.php?search=all&q=Clark%20Gable%27s%20Tomb%20--%20Vandalized%20with%20a%20Kiss

6) Why Clark Gable?
The most famous movie of Clark Gable was the epic drama "Gone with the wind". The end of the story:
"As Rhett walks out the door, planning to return to his hometown of Charleston, (Scarlett) pleads, "Rhett, if you go, where shall I go? What shall I do?" He famously answers, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn," and walks away into the fog. She sits on her stairs and weeps in despair, "What is there that matters?" She then recalls the voices of Gerald, Ashley and Rhett, all of whom remind her that her strength comes from Tara itself. Hope lights Scarlett's face: "Tara! Home. I'll go home, and I'll think of some way to get him back! After all, tomorrow is another day!" In the finale, Scarlett stands once more, resolute, before Tara."
Well...food for thoughts...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gone_with_the_Wind_%28film%29

Comment on TMZ:
[youtube:2z06sc0k]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACj50uq6_s[/youtube:2z06sc0k]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACj50uq6_s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACj50uq6_s)

"RHETT: You will, though. And another thing. Those pantalets. I don't know a woman in Paris wears pantalets anymore.

SCARLETT: What do they... you shouldn't talk about such things.

RHETT: You little hypocrite, you don't mind my knowing about them, just my talking about them.

SCARLETT: Rhett, I really can't go on accepting these gifts. Though you are awfully kind.

RHETT: I'm not kind, I'm just tempting you. I never give anything without expecting something in return. I always get paid.

SCARLETT: If you think I'll marry you just to pay for the bonnet, I won't.

RHETT: Don't flatter yourself, I'm not a marrying man.

SCARLETT: Well, I won't kiss you for it, either.

RHETT: Open your eyes and look at me. No, I don't think I will kiss you. Although you need kissing badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how.

SCARLETT: And I suppose that you think that you are the proper person.

RHETT: I might be, if the right moment ever came.

SCARLETT: You're a conceited, black- hearted varmint, Rhett
Butler, and I don't know why I let you come and see
me.

RHETT: I'll tell you why, Scarlett. Because I'm the only man
over sixteen and under sixty who's around to show you
a good time.

Clark Gable as Rhett Butler and Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara."

7) And once again TMZ gamble with us. The link says June 4, the posting date says June 6. Oups, Harvey, you're late. What's up?

Comment on TMZ:
[youtube:3pnd9o15]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACj50uq6_s[/youtube:3pnd9o15]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACj50uq6_s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACj50uq6_s)

What's up?

Regarding bullet #6.) According to wikipedia - "William Clark Gable (February 1, 1901 – November 16, 1960) was an American film actor, nicknamed "The King of Hollywood" in his heyday. In 1999, the American Film Institute named Gable seventh among the greatest male stars of all time.[1]" ???????  could this be some kind of clue - all these king references - ie: the King of Pop = MJ; The King of Rock N Roll = EP & The King of Hollywood = CG.  Could this mean MJ will become the next King of FILM????  Just a thought... let me know what you think!

From another point of view is also called vandalism to the illegal act, though illegal, containing itself a motivation that points to the general welfare of the society or simply a nice effect on it. It is understood that this kind of vandalism aims property, public or private, and not the individual owner, except in very few cases (e.g. launch pie in the face of famous people).

A typical case is the graffiti on the walls of a neighbor: the neighbor is victim of the Bandit Act. Some believe that graffiti could not be considered a form of art, as that was not subject to regulations or rules of expression. There are others who believe that art is as the need to dump contendios (expressing them) in public or private areas without looking for the place where. The diatribe is a special case of a much broader philosophical dispute, for public and private property and, at the same time, on freedom of expression, marginality, etc.

Yep, was the first thing I thought as well. So if you are an MJ fan you don't have access, so MJ fans better turn into Clark Gable fans, because they can go into the mausoleum. Easy as that.

   Now non-believers need to disguise as a Gable fan to get inside. This's great

Maybe this is what it means.....The kiss seemed like an "open mouth" kiss.....

The Opening of the Mouth ceremony.
When an ancient Egyptian died, he was not buried into the ground, mourned and then forgotten. Nor was his grave simply visited at certain times and some token words spoken over it, so that once again he is forgotten until next visit. The ancient Egyptians believed that ritual existed which would bring sensory life back to the deceased’s form, enabling it to see, smell, breathe, hear, and eat, and thus partake of the offering foods and drinks brought to the tomb each day.

Priests would recite hymns such as this one, for Pa-nefer:

"Awake!..May you be alert as a living one, rejuvenated every day, healthy in millions of occasions of god sleep, while the gods protect you, protection being around you every day."

Once the deceased was rejuvenated back with all his senses, he could also interact and watch over the family members, affecting their lives. Letters have been found attesting to the continued contact, or at least, belief in the continued contact, between deceased and living. Letters such as this one, from the scribe Butehamun to his deceased wife Ikhtay, where he asks her to intercede with the Lords of Eternity on his behalf. "If you can hear me in the place where you are…it is you who will speak with a good speech in the necropolis. Indeed I did not commit an abomination against you while you were on earth, and I hold to my behavior."

The ritual that would re-animate the deceased was called The Opening of the Mouth ceremony. It was an important ritual in both funerary and in temple practice. The Opening of the Mouth originated as a ritual to endow statues with the capacity to support the living ka, and to receive offerings. It was performed on cult statues of gods, kings, and private individuals, as well as on the mummies of both humans and Apis bulls. It was even performed on the individual rooms of temples and on the entire temple structure.

Hmmmm...sounds very co-incidental ........ Back to the King tut theory again.

Yeah it does resemble a face. Oh snap Thriller night.  And what's up with the lipstick damaging the marble so bad that it has to be replaced.  It must be that lipstick that stays on all day because it seem like it would just wash off.

Vandalized with a Kiss or...Sealed with a Kiss..?  ;)

Though we gotta say goodbye for the summer
Baby, I promise you this
I'll send you all my love
Every day in a letter
Sealed with a kiss
Yes, it's gonna be a cold lonely summer
But I'll fill the emptiness
I'll send you all my dreams
Every day in a letter
Sealed with a kiss

I'll see you in the sunlight
I'll hear your voice everywhere
I'll run to tenderly hold you
But baby, you won't be there

I don't wanna say goodbye for the summer
Knowing the love we'll miss
So let us make a pledge
To meet in September
And seal it with a kiss

Yes, it's gonna be a cold lonely summer
But I'll fill the emptiness
I'll send you all my love
Every day in a letter
Sealed with a kiss

Sealed with a kiss
Sealed with a kiss

Makes me think of the song "Put the blame on Mame"

When Mrs. O'Leary's cow
Kicked the lantern in Chicago town
They say that started the fire
That burned Chicago down
That's the story that went around
But here's the real low-down
Put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
Mame kissed a buyer from out of town
That kiss burned Chicago down
So you can put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
Remember the blizzard, back in Manhattan
In eighteen-eighty-six
They say that traffic was tied up
And folks were in a fix
That's the story that went around
But here's the real low-down
Put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
Mame gave a chump such an ice-cold "No"
For seven days they shovelled snow
So you can put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
When they had the earthquake in San Francisco
Back in nineteen-six
They said that Mother Nature
Was up to her old tricks
That's the story that went around
But here's the real low-down
Put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
One night she started to shim and shake
That brought on the Frisco quake
So you can put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
They once had a shootin' up in the Klondike
When they got Dan McGrew
Folks were putting the blame on
The lady known as Lou
That's the story that went around
But here's the real low-down
Put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
Mame did a dance called the hoochy-coo
That's the thing that slew McGrew
So you can put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame *****

Is there any relation ? Clark Gable = old movies = Gilda = Kiss
