I was pescribed beta blockers years ago when i was totally stressed out and my heart used to race.

yes , calcium channel blocker act on calcium channels located in our heart  while beta blockers act  on heart .blood vessels  smooth muscles and also respiratory channel s called bronchi. although both drugs  more or less are used for same medical condition  but some  calcium channels  blockers interact  with beta blockers so one should avoid using them  together without  physician opinion
