OK; I'm going to say something here that may not go over too good with some. I will preface this by saying that whether MJ is gay or straight is not going to change the way I feel about him, his music, his legacy or anything else. I Adore him no matter what.
I am NOT saying I believe this Halperin guy at all, but think for a minute....What If MJ did lean that way? I doubt he would come out and make an announcement or admit it. His Fan Base is a high percentage Females that are Gaga over him physically (gold pants freaks?) and seem to carry around a Fantasy in their head of a sexual/romantic relationship with him. Finding out he was Gay would burst a Lot of Bubbles out there and devotion could turn to disgust for some, eroding this lust struck female fan base. Plus his Mom's strict religious values...If you remember when the Beatles arrived on the scene, it was kept a Secret for a long time that John Lennon was married. (When it leaked out the PR people said they wanted him to appear single cause girls screamed and went crazy over the Beatles and they were afraid this would have a negative effect of the female fans reaction) I mean What IF MJ was secretly gay? The reaction you are exhibiting would be exactly Why he would need to deny it - Right? I have no Idea whether he is or not, all I'm saying is it would not surprise me cause he can lean to the effiminate side somewhat. The Andogynous thing is somewhat Hot sometimes and I would prefer to think of him as straight too, but with MJ as they say "Anything is Possible"!

There is one mention of the autopsy and how it will be "doctored"
(not the word in book).  And speculation on the will.
Both of these items have been discussed and speculated upon.

Actually, all in the book and not because of the book, has been

So it really shouldn't matter whether he's straight or gay.

Of course Michael could've been gay... or could be gay. THEORETICALLY. But the thing is just that Ian Halperin is a huge, huge liar, and he's the first one to ever make claims of that type, and only after Michael "died". Before that he would've written about Michael being a perverted pedophile, then he changed his mind, because he quite possibly just felt that positive books about Michael sell better now, but Michael had to at least be gay. I very much think it's impossible that nobody ever figured that out about Michael, but IAN HALPERIN did, in like three weeks. If you want to believe Halperin, then almost the entire world is gay, because that's his bombshell story about all kinds of celebrities. They can't all be gay, can they? The problem is that he's probably gay himself. No offense, though.

Plus, you've got all the comments by people close to him that he's really not gay, you got some private conversations, you got him lusting after Diana and other ladies, you got a big bunch of heterosexual and only heterosexual porn at Neverland. Gay? I think not.

It's so unfair that someone's sexuality is a subject to such frenzy. I mean, unless you're going into bed with someone, then it shouldn't even matter whom does a person prefer: men, woman or both. Michael could have been hetero, gay or bi (likes both sexes), but does that really matter?  If Michael was gay, would it make "Thriller" a worse song? Erm, no.

Halperin is an opportunist looking to earn a fast buck. He wants attention and he is receiving it. Mjs supporters and non-supporters will purchase this book out of curiosity. As far as Halperin is concerned…mission accomplished.

Here’s the point that keeps slipping through the cracks. There aren't many people willing to reveal things about themselves that could jeopardize their reputation. This is especially true if their livelihood is based upon that reputation. In addition to being viewed as a remarkable singer/dancer, MJ was viewed as a desireable  man  by women all over the world. Women of all stripes wanted a piece of MJ and they supported his career based on their love of the music and adoration of the man. He could not risk something as explosive as his sexuality  to interfere with that. This applies whether he was straight or gay.

I’ll even flip the coin and offer something else to consider.  MJ could never have been portrayed as a ladies man who hooked up with a new one each week. MJ could never have been portrayed as a playboy who banged groupies 2-3 at a time. There are celebrities who have been and can continue to be  portrayed like that but never MJ. He had to remain pure and pristine for his fan base since that was the image that many felt most comfortable for him to have.   Imagine having to adjust your desires and needs to protect the comfort zone of complete strangers. MJ often spoke of a difficult childhood where demands were constantly made on him. The adult portion of his life seemed to be quite difficult as well. The demands were elevated to a higher level by many people who believe what they believe and only those things about  him. With that in mind, MJ had to hide some things in order to live his life his way.
