A Youthful Papa Joe

Yes I can definitely see Michael in his father as a young man.  MJ got his father's mouth, chin and jawline, nose, ears, distance between eyes.  I don't understand why Joe made rude comments to him because apparently he took after him with alot of his features except for the blue eyes/green eyes.  Whatever color his eyes are.  Marlon got his dad's eyes.  I guess Tito favor him the most though.  MJ was better looking than his daddy though at a young age.  Sometimes I wonder if he said those hurtlful things to MJ because he was mad and jealous of his son's success.  Joe had a band at one time and he didn't go big but I think he lived his dream through his sons.  Since his sons became so popular I think he may have used the verbal attacks as a way of remaining in control because he realize that MJ was so talented.  I'm sure he knew one day that he would go off on his own without his guidance.  At least Michael said their relationship got better in recent years that's good.

It's called "Projection".  No doubt Joe projected onto MJ everything he hated about himself and in himself.  Often this is what we do when we pick on others.

Wow! He looked exactly like a young Joe. The mouth and nose are almost identical. I've read somewhere that this was the reason that Mike wanted to change some of his features, so he wouldnt look so much like Joe. His biggest fear ( according to some sources) was becoming like Joe. I dont know if this is true, though. I think I read it in Taraborreli's book.

Sorry for saying it, but I can't believe Joe turned out to be that ugly later on. Seems like his personality deformed his face.

It is interesting that Michael is the one who inherited his father's name. They didn't know at birth what he would come to be, and Michael's not even the oldest. My oldest son got his dad's name. That's usually how it goes. Doesn't matter how awesome our MJ is and how aweful his dad treated him, if it wasn't for Joe's early effort the world wouldn't have been blessed and would still be musically simpler. Michael is a pivotal person!!!

I agree with the general resemblance, mostly in the lower face, particularly  the mouth and jaw line.

That's probably what Joe looked like when Ms. Katherine fell in love.  If she only knew  :lol:

Do you see any resemblance to MJ? In the "You Rock My World" Video at t he end when the place catches on fire, you see a photo of young Joe burning up in the flames. It's very similar to this photo....[attachment=0]JoeJackson.jpg
