There HAS BEEN a national Children's Day, which predates both Mother's and Father's days by about 150 years, now. Also, the UN made an international children's holiday, as did many other countries and U.S. States....
A group called Childrens' Rights Council (1985) has even drafted an impressive Bill of Rights on kids' behalf, even though it as yet carries no official legal power. And someone else has created an official flag which is just as impressive.
There is all kinds of help for parents who care about their KIDS more than anything, even their own convenience.
(Personally, it has always bothered me that kids from a "broken" home are expected to automatically be the ones whose lives are interrupted weekly, as they are forced to live in either "mom's" or "dad's" house, by rotation. NO adult would tolerate a forced Nomadic existence, living out of a suitcase or backpack ALL THE TIME like this.
Just because kids are resilient and, mostly acquiescent, DOES NOT MEAN they aren't being damaged by their feelings being discounted in this way. :(
It ALWAYS matters when someone you love says by word or deed---or the lack thereof, that their convenience is more important than your peace and "quiet enjoyment".)

I can't tell if MJ himself had any thing to do with helping this along; it's been 18 years since he brought it up publicly, but it is official, and international...Kinda-sorta... :?

Since we can't actually ASK him, perhaps, when he re-appears MJ could clear this up? Or, maybe if people quit BASHING :roll: :roll: Rabbi Boteach, he will publish his proposed second book on all MJ's thoughts about JUST EXACTLY THIS. :) 8-)
