The reason for her clothing could simply be that it's her 'court/special occasion clothes' and she thinks it looks good on her, which it does. She also wore it at the 2005 trial when supporting her son the same as she is now.
No reason to search for something behind everything

You could be right.  Both Katherine and Joe are elderly, and probably cant be bothered going through the hassle of choosing and buying new clothes.  And going to court isnt an experience you expect to go through many times in your life!!

Im wondering.. in the 2005 trials.. did Katherine change her clothes during that time or she wear the same every day back then?

Ok, I find it really funny that someone comes to this forum trying to make us believe Michael is dead, and now people are getting excited because of this picture and Katherine's clothes. : D

I think so as well and worried and probably anxious as well. Must be tough for an older woman like her to put on such a front especially with the values she has. However she will do anything for her baby Michael

The clothes thing is point on.,  She looks weary, perhaps tired of the fiasco.  She is elderly and playing games don't appeal to her generation.  HOWEVER, I think she is probably wanting all of this attention off of her and her family.  She more than likely didn't want to attend anyway.  Get all dressed up in the middle of the night for a make believe service.  She would probably rather be taking an evening nap.  Besides, look at the people in the background.  No one seems a bit sad to me.
