Take a friggin' hint !
Not just tabloids ppl; all trash printed including from medialoids; mainstream media.

We need to give Michael a living legacy of true honor.
"Stand-up, stand-up" to clear his name.
Isn\'t this the least we can do for him ?

Alright, you all may think this is crazy but I often think about the representation of anything creative (as art is my outlet). When I think of MJ's "burning of the coat" I think of it like this:  A coat provides warmth, protection, shelter from the elements. Taking it off and burning it is a rather strong statement. To me, it represents exposing oneself and purging himself from it. Yes, it could mean media lies, the illuminati or any other fraction of your choice. OR, it could mean that MJ is revealing or shedding a part of himself-a protective layer-and exposing himself in a new light......perhaps exposing the "Michael we never knew"!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!  It could go very well be parallel to the themes of "the man you never knew, the man behind the curtain or Liza's blatant and puzzling statement about "all hell's gonna break loose!"  I cannot wait for the reveal.....this is exciting! I love you Michael!

Okay, letting my mind wander on a theme here . A jacket can be used to convey belonging to a group such as bikies wear jackets with their colours.  Maybe taking it off and burning the jacket represents disassociating himself from what he had previously identified with. Or as the saying goes clothes maketh the man, so by taking off the jacket and burning it, it could mean stripping away whatever is percieved first and what is left is exposure and vulnerability ,  but also individual  and honest about what lies beneath. I have found that a well cut jacket can hide some of my less attractive parts. But take it off and your gonna see that I have a bit of a jelly belly.  By burning the jacket there can be no going back to the familiar comfort zone  once experienced before.  A place of no return. I'm just thinking aloud here, but maybe MJ is saying that the enigma that the King of Pop has been is over and he won't be putting that coat on again. I hope he finds his new clothes a wonderful fit and joyful comfort to wear. I'm hoping it's the casual wear of a great film maker and the snuggly comfort of a loving father. More than my wishes I hope it's a perfect fit for Him.

I thought something like that too when I saw that part. Like he took off his jacket to burn it as if to say this isn't me anymore... hmmm :geek:

I've been asking myself what burning that jacket represents also?   I agree with RK,  I believe it to be the end of his "musical career".  Remember how he said "and let it burn" with such emphasis?  Now, I remember this mind blowing video...Rabbit in your headlights, or something like that...take a look at it.  What he thinks is protecting him, is rather making him weak and a target for his accidents...

interesting thread! i don't know what the burning of the jacket meant but i loved the build-up to it, when the music was getting all fuzzy and everybody started stamping their feet and jumping like crazy people. wonder what it symbolizes tho

hey, I could be wrong; whatever.
Yes, a jacket can be a symbol of protection and yet the shedding of something on the outside I find significant, because of course it's what's on the inside that matters.

I too think of this as is a life transition for MJ. He's had a longer career w/dance than most dancers. I also think that he's laid down the crown. He will always be regarded as the King of Pop though I think he just wants to be free to be a person; to be free to be as he chooses to be.This to me is a huge part of this for more than one reason.
Maybe, just maybe he'd just like to be a father as he keeps creating & not be taunted as he was before. I cannot speak for MJ, I can only go by what he's shown us.

Meanwhile, I need not be told how to say what I care to say. I happen to think that ref. to medialoids is deserving of the word hell.
There sure is enough judgment on this site.
Why ?
This to me in not in Michael's light of love.
me ?...I like the funny & lovin' stuff.

Hopefully he can burn this jacket one day. This jerk needs a chill first (only my opinion)
