Katherine Jackson will attend the press conference announcing the first International King of Pop Fanvention where thousands will come to honor Gary, IN native son Michael Jackson

Katherine Jackson, the mother of the late entertainer Michael Jackson will be in attendance at a press conference to announce the first annual International King of Pop Fanvention on March 9, 2010 at 10 a.m.(CST). The press conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel and Star Plaza, 800 E. 81st Avenue in Merrillville, IN. The hotel is just 10 minutes from the childhood home of Jackson.The Fanvention will take place during the weekend of August 26 – 29, 2010.

I still don't understand why the family would go through all of these events and tributes if this was indeed a hoax. Wouldn't they want to keep a low profile, especially Katherine? Don't really understand it if Michael is alive but if he's gone it makes sense  :cry:  :cry:

This is all of the plan I'm sure. I don't think they like it to go through all the tributes and all but if it's part of the Hoax they would have to. :)

Is anyone thinking about going?  I have wanted to visit the family home in Gary, and this seems like the perfect opportunity (sans, the crowd anyway) and the dance lesson does sound like fun.   :)
I am curious how much tickets will be. Will find out Monday, as that's when they go on sale.

I was just thinking the announcement is on 3/9/2010 = 16 = 1+6 = 7
and the sale starts 3/1/2010 = 7. But shouldn't it be the other way around. The announcement first, then the ticket sale.

you can kick off the ticket sale prior to any promo action, like an announcement. you just tell the ticket office when you want them launched. it's not connected. you wanna make sure their apparatus is in full swing when you make the announcement, right?  :mrgreen:

press conference thing is in march actual fan thing is august makes sense cos he can return before then and the fans will still go cos theyll be celebrating him i think he will be back before august thats why these things are planned for then!!
