Interesting. It's too far away to tell. Plus, if he was actually there I think he would be disguised anyway. He'd have to be.

What you have just witnessed could be the end of a particularly terrifying nightmare. It isn't. It's the beginning.

in the video it looks like he is holding a mic and singing, might be wishful thinking though :-)

Up on the screen?  If he is up on the screen why would that mean he was there 'live'?  I am not being snarky, just don't get it?

Guys, have you ever performed live before in a stadium? This person might be a tech up there for lights and crew. I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I bet there's another person opposite this person in the rafters or catwalks as well. My friend performed at the Grammy's and he said there was no buzz backstage of Michael singing live. I'm more of the belief if Mike was there he was in the audience disguised.

looks like your pic got cut off, Speeddemon.  I think I know what you are referring to....everyone else if you re-watch this tribute and pause it near the end of the song when the camera pans to this scene.  Look up in the upper right corner & it sorta looks like there's someone standing on a balcony??  it's very dark and I might be crazy to suggest it but I think that's what Speeddemon circled in red...

I've heard somebody say somewhere today that it could be the sound engineer up there, but i know the sound booth will be towards the back or centre of the room, did anyone notice Carrie singing "What about Mike" at the begining of every chorus of "What about us?"
Also does anyone know what the face inbetween these of Mike are?

I didn't even notice that face...  :?  No idea who that is supposed to be.

I don't know who that's suppose to be either, but I also keep seeing a smaller image of MJ between those two. Or maybe I'm just going crazy! lol

Does anyone have a larger scan of the second face or a thread on it?  Thank you.

Did your friend from the Grammy's say if he/she has heard anything about Michael being alive?
I'm proud to be a child of God and a member of MJ's Army of L.O.V.E.

He didn't say yes or no about him being alive. He said no talk of him being backstage or singing live. My friend performed with Green Day and was at the after party.

As I have mentioned before in another post, that I felt that while these singers were singing along with MJ's Earth Song that MJ's voice was crystal-clear like he was on the stage somewhere.  I even mentioned this to my own mum who was in the room with me.  When this angle was shown on Grammys as shown above in the photo that is posted on this thread, I felt  that MJ was going walk out on the stage.  I honestly felt that he was there.  I always trust my gut.  I really think there is something to your photo that you have posted.  My feelings were strong that night that MJ was there on stage somewhere.  MJ's voice was so clear like a bell.  Thank you for sharing this photo.  God bless you all!

Not sure whether the dude up in the balcony was  Michael or a sound guy, or whether Michael was singing live or if it was from the cd or whatever (sounded like the recording, to me).  I do know that I half expected a bulldozer or something carrying Michael to come out on stage after Prince and Paris ended their speeches. :?:
