In 1943 a movie was released telling the story of the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912
However, this particular movie was different, in that it was commissioned by Joseph Goebels (Hitlers chief of propaganda)
It told the story of greedy British capitalists who drove the ship headlong into an iceberg in order to make a killing on the stock market
But here's where the story gets weird and dark
The director Herbert Selpin trashtalked the Third Reich and was eventually arrested and "hanged in his cell"
The ship they used to play the Titanic (the SS Cap Arcona) was eventually sank by the Allies.
The SS Cap Arcona was carrying many Nazi prisoners
2000 people lost their lives
Whereas 1,523 people lost their lives in the Titanic disaster
