QuoteAbout the ARG XI:
Patrick O'Luanaigh told Edge magazine that nDreams "ended up doing 12 spaces, 24 minigames, 108 videos and four huge websites." He also mentioned that "By and large" everything went according to plan. nDreams had a chart that was 12 weeks long and that every weekday, something new was happening. "Getting in on Sony's project early meant nDreams found itself in a privileged position" notes Edge magazine. "We were able to really push Home," says O'Luanaigh. "We were given carte blanche to mess around." He also notes how the company was fortunate that there was a fairly large Home community already there and were really satisfied how people of different languages were communicating with each other by posting in other forums, not of their own language, and helping each other out to solve Xi. "Normally, language players are fairly separate. It's rare for people to interact like that, and it's really satisfying" says O'Luanaigh.[4]
Bec, I don't want to push my opinion into your face, I'm just trying to find out WHAT is going on. Sony CAN come up with an ARG like that, it's their business! Whether or not done by themselves, whether or not it's for home-entertainment like playstation, the concept stays the same.
Not to mention they can't influence the court and the coroner and the PD and the FD in such perfect harmony. If this hoax is real it's way over Sony's head. They don't create art, they just market and sell it. Sony needs a mastermind behind a project like this, a puppetmaster... an MJ.
Reallyyyyyyy far fetched: What if the coroner, PD and FD are in this ARG as generously paid puppetmasters? Remember that we found out some were also actors??? What if Sony was trying to use MJ to pull off this ARG? What if MJ found out (I remember Jermaine writing in his book that Michael overheard a conversation between a so-called friend and a high Sony executive and left upset, he didn't write what the conversation was about unfortunately). Michael out thought them, felt that it fitted is own plans and is playing along? I'm grasping everything I can, I know, but THEN this would be the Greatest show on earth, a real Truman Story!! The family can continue to claim they didn't know that Michael hoaxed his death, thus the trial against AEG. And.......the blame goes to Sony!
QuotePuppetmaster – A puppetmaster or "PM" is an individual involved in designing and/or running an ARG. Puppetmasters are simultaneously allies and adversaries to the player base, creating obstacles and providing resources for overcoming them in the course of telling the game's story. Puppetmasters generally remain behind the curtain while a game is running. The real identity of puppet masters may or may not be known ahead of time.
Could be the bloggers, trolls, fronts, backs,TS's, coroners, you name it. Could be Michael ofcourse!
Besides, everyone uses the word "believe", it's a popular slogan right now.
Yeah, but Sony was REAL quick, as in september 2, 2009! Everyone else would also take some piece of the pie.
I have always rejected this theory because to me, it's further fetched then MJ simply faking his death as an entertainment spectacle.
Well, you, just like me, are also a bit switching between the different possibilities! :beerchug: But one option doesn't have to exclude the possibility of the other option.
If the theory had any footing the 'hoaxed hoax' concept would have had to have been whipped together in a few days time considering this theory requires MJ to actually be dead--under those circumstances--which was pretty much unexpected and sudden according to the official story. This hoax is way too vast to have been hastily prepared and executed on the fly. So no, in my opinion, this is not Sony's hoax.
Could be Sony's and Michael's hoax. A co-production or a huge counterattack.
The Curtain – The curtain, drawing from the phrase, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain," is generally a metaphor for the separation between the puppetmasters and the players.[3] This can take the traditional form of absolute secrecy regarding the puppetmasters' identities and involvement with the production, or refer merely to the convention that puppetmasters do not communicate directly with players through the game, interacting instead through the characters and the game's design.
Rabbithole/Trailhead – A rabbithole, or trailhead, marks the first media artifact, be it a website, contact, or puzzle, that draws in players. Most ARGs employ a number of trailheads in several media to maximize the probability of people discovering the game. Typically, the rabbithole is a website, the most easily updated, cost-effective option.
This Is Not A Game (TINAG) – Setting the ARG form apart from other games is the This Is Not A Game sentiment popularized by the players themselves. It is the belief that "one of the main goals of the ARG is to deny and disguise the fact that it is even a game at all."
