Sorry bec, I had no intention to offend you or anyone else who is an atheist. I base my knowledge on this scriptural verse: New International Version (©1984)And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 1John 4:16We can say that this is simply what people who believe in God accept and experience -- a point of view. I am not minimising your understanding of “Love”. I say this in all humility and with due respect.P.S: The word "God" to me represents that magnificent, benevolent, gracious, merciful, and compassionate "force" or "energy" that is omnipresent and omniscient in our Cosmos.
I'm wishing Mike and everyone here a VERY happy day of love...@Grace...thank you for posting the verses from 1-13....verse 13 sums it up perfectly and beautifully, while the verses before it are filled with beauty in detail, language, and love. Anyone can say what they will about the Bible (I know I have)...but no one can deny the absolute exquisiteness and beauty of the language of many of the 'writers' (it's poetry on crack lol). Who talks or writes that like anymore? Better yet, who truly KNOWS and lives that kinda love in their daily lives? What a world it would be if we KNEW that kind of love! I hope and pray to God that Mike---or at this point, anyone lol...but I SO hope it's Mike :----(with the help of God) is gonna help the world KNOW that kind of love.Although I've read this passage many times before and have always loved it on so many levels....having read it again just now was like reading/seeing it for the first time (in essence, it was the first time this 'me' read it.....'me' is always changing lol). Verse 12 especially struck a chord with me....Quote (selected)12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. ....in light of this part of Front's poem:You are not allowed to view links. It's so easy to become cynical and jaded when we live in a world facing an epidemic of conditional love, which is not really love at all.
Matthew 7:20-23 (Jesus' words)20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us ALL.
L.O.V.E.... that's all we need! ;^) Happy Day to all soldiers!
