The most obvious thing is that the track has been completely re-recorded and remixed and they seem to be using the beat from Billie Jean. Also Michael's vocal is slightly different in terms of it's pitch and timbre, meaning is probably not the one that was used on the album.

Could this be Michael Jackson? This is one of the first things about the video that stuck out to me by a mile, the only real close up of someone else other than the lead character...

Yayyyyyyyy! The video is nice! The girl is beautiful!!!

That Billie Jean beat is getting on my nerves a bit...
It sems they are really reading forums because Teddy Rileys arrangement of Hollywood Tonight with violins was criticised on the official forum. People sugggested the guitar samples as more suitable - and they changed it here.
However, my first impression was - adding "Billie Jean" rhythm was not a good idea, leaving out the Tarryl's spoken bridge - was ok.
I don't like when they change the original album versions but I guess they have a purpose in it...

Did I say "they"?   Not "he"???

WOW...and wow.  What a great dancer she is.  I recognise the same kids from Hold my Hand video as well.  Again we have the Michael Jackson Hollywood star walk of fame.................there must be something to that.

Love the concept, and story line, but goodness me, it really does need Michael in it....Thanks for sharing this.  It has worth the wait...Cheers.

Hmmm ... interesting, almost sounds like they've stuck the Billie Jean beat in there?

"The storyline of "Hollywood Tonight" charts the journey of a young woman arriving in Hollywood from small town America as she follows her dream to be a star; though her ambition is to be a dancer, her story represents the struggle for every artist or musician struggling to make it in the world.

Wayne Isham, who directed the video for Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone," returns to one of the very same locations where he filmed in 1995 with Michael – the Pantages Theatre near the famed corner of Hollywood and Vine that has served as a beacon for those drawn to the dream of stardom. In the new video, the Pantages Theater once again becomes the setting for the clip's spectacular closing but this time they are outside the theater for a "flash mob" dance scene."

I LOVE this production an the video! GREAT.
The girl  just perfect for the role. Very classy in the way that is presented when she is pole dancing.
There is a story attached to the main character and "she is going to Hollywood" to become a dancer, her dream!

Reminded me of Flash Dance a bit.

Very nice I must say.

("Minkin güerveeeee")
Michael pls come back

The drawn out hiccup/gasp in the beginning doesn't sound like Michael Jackson at all. That's what stood out the most to me. I knew something was off. I like the video though.

Your true character is how you act when no one is looking.

I didn't liked the Billie Jean beat in the music. Seems that they are trying to enhance the songs with great success from the past, first with Flight of Bumblebee in Breaking News and now Billie Jean in Hollywood Tonight. I don't think Mike would do that, I like to think that he would want to create new stuff.

Makes me wonder if he is behind that or not...  :?

They way she seemed to wipe her hand over the MJ star was interesting, does anybody know if that gesture has any significance in any culture? It has to mean something. Of course, it could very well be her doing that just for the hell of it, but usually when it was focused that clearly for a period of time in the video it has some sort of important meaning...perhaps some underlying symbolism hidden within?

As for the video as a whole, I admire it. very well done and properly executed. the whole Idea of what happens in the spotlight and having high aspirations for fame means a lot to someone, but this video clearly demonstrates the horrors that come with becoming a celebrity, possibly turning you into some sort of monster without your say and being controlled by the entertainment medium. People dream of being famous, but some don't realize that theres a cost that comes with sacrificing yourself for the entertainment world. you go through a lot of hysteria, particularly with the media  and such that its hard to get out of the spotlight once your well known. so i see this video as a warning as well as a cautioned blessing for those who are looking for fame, its not all what it's worked up to be. For example, Ted Williams was highly publicized in the moments after he was discovered that it lead him to an overwhelming amount of pressure and thus went back into his drinking faze after being sober for two years.

Coming soon to a trial near you; MJ: the resurrection
