I agree, it doesn't make any sense.  Perhaps the Twitter premiere for the song wasn't enough promotion???

1. Why would you want your city to be known as A Place With No Name? Currently there is no name on Michael's tomb at Forest Lawn.

2. 'In the spirit of Michael Jackson' the winning town will receive tablets to 'enrich the lives and education of the youth'. So schools are going to receive these tablets? Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys come to mind on that.

I wonder when this contest was created. Was it always part of the release to A Place With No Name video or an after thought? And who thought of it? The Estate has to be part of it, they had to have given their ok.

Oh and some of you may not know this but the Estate oversees the Sony official fan site, michaeljackson.com

Love you Michael!

Who was lucky enough to obtain Michael Jackson stamps from St. Vincent in the British Virgin Islands in 1986?

Here is an article stating the British Virgin Island stamps were never issued but were issued by St. Vincent Islands:

Michael Jackson on Stamps

The stamp collecting world mourns the passing of pop icon and music legend, Michael Jackson.
Jackson, 50, died yesterday of cardiac arrest at his home in West Los Angeles.

Jackson has appeared on the stamps of many countries around the world and was a popular topical subject.

In her book, Michael Jackson (1993), author Lisa D. Campbell writes,"In the spring of 1986, the British Virgin Islands announced plans to release postage stamps featuring Michael Jackson. Shortly before their release, in fact after a few hundred sets were already printed, the stamps were cancelled due to regulations stating that stamps bearing the likeness of living persons must be members of the Royal Family, not the Jackson family. Stamps with Michael's likeness were subsequently issued, however by a Caribbean Island, St. Vincent."

For more facts and photos about Michael Jackson, click here.

Shown above, British Virgin Island stamps featuring Michael Jackson that were withdrawn.

Here are the St. Vincent stamps - same ones but just from St. Vincent.

And this means what? Well, I found this site that gives the islands of both British Virgin Islands and St. Vincent:

http://www.virginstamps.com/list.html?order=price&category_id=3299

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
GRENADA
BAHAMAS

ST. VINCENT
TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

The first set of stamps were from the British Virgin Islands and Grenada is part of that - Murray was born in Grenada.
The issued stamps were from St. Vincent and Trinidad is part of that - Murray was raised and grew up in Trinidad.

I know this might be a stretch but do you think it is possible that Michael met Murray in 1985/1986?

And why would the official michaeljackson twitter account tweet about obtaining stamps that were never issued? They are available to buy (ebay) though.

And the tweet isn't correct. St. Vincent is not the British Virgin Islands. They are both part of the Caribbean Islands but they are not the same.

This is what the stamps remind me of:

Murray's tie/stripes from court and jacket from the Michael cd mural
Billie Jean
'Napoleon'
Aviator
King

Love you Michael!
