He then asked shocked workers to ship the box to his Neverland Ranch in California, and many speculate it was purchased for his own funeral.

He was obviously planning to use it for this illusion called the death of Michael Jackson. 8-)

I may be mistaken, but during a shopping trip with Martin Bashir I remember them discussing a coffin that they saw in a store.
