I think that for so long we are used to hearing Michael sing in a certain octave. Now is we all took the time to listen to some of the recording that he did with his voice coach we will notice that Michael has a voice that can range from different octave.  This could be the side that we never knew about Michael.  We always have to keep in mind that Michael will give to you want he want you to hear when he wants you to hear it.  Michael also knows that his voice is a powerful one. And he knows how to use it. We have to get out of the habit in thinking that he would not sing a certain way or he would not do a certain type of song with a certain type of artist.  At all points in his career, Michael knew exactly what he was looking for, some would say he was ahead of his time. He is a great observer, he is aware of what the fans want. I think that we the fans of his music still portray him in a certain light. And what I think he is trying to do is let us know that there are more facet to Michael Jackson than what we see. He wants all of us to think outside of the box, to not be so conformed, and not limit ourselves to the possibilities. As taking a note from the phrase at the Memorial" They say the sky is the limit",  Michael is taking it a bit further to him the Sky is not the limit anymore.

@lemonbread904

I completely agree!  I LOVE behind the mask and Hollywood tonight.  In fact, I love all of them already except for Keep Your Head Up.  That song does nothing for me, but the rest of them I love.  Such a diverse album!  And this is a very recent Michael singing on most of these tracks....no doubt in my mind!

Behind the Mask is freaking amazing!

What you have just witnessed could be the end of a particularly terrifying nightmare. It isn't. It's the beginning.

I really have mix feelings about this album. I think it's nice for us to hear new tracks. Some of the songs I am even excited to hear in full like Behind The Mask and (I Like) The Way You Love Me. However, I honestly don't think Michael would want 90% of this record out as it is or at all. He is such a perfectionist and his music is always seamless in its mixing process. A lot of the vocals and music sound overproduced like they are trying to cover up the fact that they really started out as rough demos. And perhaps they placed new vocals from someone who sounds like Michael and manipulated those vocals to sound more like Jackson to give it a more fuller sound and to complete some of the tracks. The problem is ...the vocals do not sound the same. I can hear the difference. Listen to Invincible and then listen to this or listen to Slave To The Rhythm and then listen to Monster. There is a difference. I'm hoping that maybe the songs sound better when I listen to the full record but right now, I have a big question mark about this album. I also notice that the vocals are from different time periods too so there is not a consistency to the vocals. *sighs* I'll try to be positive and say that I really hope Michael approved of this and has a good reason to put this out or else, this is really messed up on the part of Sony. This is Michael's legacy they are messing with.

Wow, thanks Victor! I'll be buying about 7 of those albums, they make great christmas presents for my cousins, one for me, and I already told my bestfriend not to buy it :D ! They're all MJ fans, but they don't get on the computer, so who knows if they know there's a new album!

These are the ones that sound questionable to me as to whether or not it's Michael's voice:

Keep Your Head Up
Monster
Breaking News

All the rest sound like him to me.

I think it's possible that it's all Michael though and he's just trying new things with his voice/trying to confuse us or it's all in our heads lol and its totally him.

Yes, same here. Like I was SO sure Keep Your Head Up was him, but listen to the way he says "wipes the tears away" the way he said tears, i don't know it just doesnt sound like him at all. :?

thank you SO MUCH!!!

hollywood tonight and behind the mask are my immediate favorites. i'm soooo excited to hear them in their entirety!!!

i find it funny that breaking news is right before another day. even from the snippets, you can tell the difference between the two, one right after the other. it's like HELLLLOOOOO.

Yeah we're all wonderful, wonderful people
so when did we all get so fearful?
and now we're finally finding our voices
so take a chance, come help me sing this
