Just when you thought Janet Jackson had put music on the back burner, the superstar has announced plans for a global tour, set to kick off sometime next year. She has asked fans to suggest the 35 cities where they would like to see her perform.

“Today I’m really excited to announce my largest ever world tour, celebrating 35 number ones,” Janet stated via AOL Music. “This tour will be different from those of the past in the way that I will perform music exclusively from my Number Ones. You’ll hear all the hits in 35 cities, which I want you to help me select.”

She is opting for a “more up close and personal” experience in intimate venues as opposed to arenas of the past. Fans can submit their city suggestions here and watch the announcement below.

In the recent interview she did abut her new movie she made it sound like she was going to be recording next year, she obviously wanted to keep this tour a secret I suppose till she made the announcement.

Music-wise, what's going to be next?

JJ: I actually decided to go and just take my time in the studio next year. I'm not in a rush. I'll see how I feel when I want to release, as opposed to being told I have to release at a certain date.
