Michael Jackson's Lead Single -- 'Hold My Hand'
11/11/2010 11:00 PM PST by TMZ Staff

The first new Michael Jackson single will be a duet with Akon -- a song entitled "Hold My Hand" that was originally leaked in 2008.

Epic Records/Sony Music just announced the lead single off the upcoming album "Michael" -- and "Hold My Hand" will be released this coming Monday, November 15 on michaeljackson.com.

Akon and MJ recorded the track back in 2007 ... a raw, incomplete version was eventually leaked to the public.

The new album will feature a total of 10 tracks -- including the controversial "Breaking News" -- when it's released December 14.

Thanks! November 15th...any significance in the date, I wonder. I have to say that the way Michael is putting his songs out there is great marketing. I have a feeling he's going to do really well in the sale of this record. And I will be extremely happy for him.

I'm proud to be a child of God and a member of MJ's Army of L.O.V.E.

I don't really get that. I LOVE the song but... Everybody already knows it, everybody's downloaded it. I don't think releasing it as a single is very smart.  :?

But now all I can do is hope and pray that you'll come to me

Anyone else think its a bit weird that the first single is with Akon, and Akon was the one dropping hints in various interviews that MJ was alive just hiding away somewhere ????

Bring on the BAM!!!

In Our Darkest Hour, In My Deepest Despair
Will You Still Care? Will You Be There?
In My Trials And My Tripulations
Through Our Doubts And Frustrations
In My Violence, In My Turbulence
Through My Fear And My Confessions
In My Anguish And My Pain
Through My Joy And My Sorrow
In The Promise Of Another Tomorrow
I\'ll Never Let You Part, For You\'re Always In My Heart.

YES!! This just came to my mind as well because I just don't really see the reason why they would release THAT song. Even though it's extremely beautiful. That "note" Michael suppsedly left has me skeptical, I always thought this was rather Akon's song, not Michael's, that it was supposed to be on Akon's album but didn't end up on it because it got leaked.

It's definitely odd.

On November 14, 2009 "This Is It" the album from the movie, hit Number One on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nu ... %28U.S.%29

Billboard puts these results out on Saturdays (Nov. 14, 2009 was on a Saturday) and the songs from the "Michael" album seem to be released on Mondays ("Breaking News" last Monday, "Hold My Hand" this Monday) - so November 15 would be the closest Monday to the one year anniversary of MJ's album, "This is It", hitting Number One.

Maybe a stretch, but that's all I've found so far  ;)
