Katherine Jackson's Secret Contract

Katherine Jackson's Secret Contract
19 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Katherine Jackson has been bitterly complaining the Michael Jackson Estate is not giving her enough money, and now we know what she's done to supplement her income in a big way.

TMZ has obtained a contract Katherine signed with Vintage Pop Media (VPM), the company that owns tens of thousands of photos, videos and other MJ items.  Under the deal -- which is not sanctioned by the MJ Estate -- Katherine agreed to participate in the production of "The Katherine Jackson Story," some sort of MJ documentary set to music.  Katherine also agreed to pen the book that was just released, "Never Can Say Goodbye."

In return for her work, VPM -- owned by her controversial business partner Howard Mann -- agreed to pay Katherine 25% of the net profits with a minimum monthly guarantee of $10,000-a-month.  But here's what's really interesting ... there's no end date for the $10-grand-a-month, so if you read the contract literally, VPM agrees to pay Katherine at least $10k-a-month for the rest of her life.

And get this.  The contract also says Katherine has the legal right to "forever bind" Michael's kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket.  According to sources connected familiar with the MJ Estate, Katherine does not have the power to contractually bind Michael's kids.

Katherine is already raking in $26,000-a-month from the MJ Estate, but she's complaining she wants more.  Looks like she found it.

Howard Mann tells TMZ, "This is one of several agreements with Mrs. Jackson. This was a starting point in our relationship."

The association often made between Ms. Katherine Jackson and money looks odd to me.
She should be beyond such things.

I don't like how they picture His Mother "complaining" about money.....

I'm struggling hard to not see her money hungry after all these, because I just can't imagine her being that cold hearted. I have no idea what this is anymore

also it's unclear to me how can a Mother be involved in a documentary about her son...... this is too private, too painful..... if Michael would really be dead I don't think  Ms. Katherine could involve herself in it.

Money Money and again Money ...  ;)

Money
Money

Lie for it
Spy for it
Kill for it
Die for it

So you call it trust
But I say it's just
In the devil's game
Of greed and lust

They don't care
They'd do me for the money
They don't care
They use me for the money

So you go to church
Read the Holy Word
In the scheme of life
It's all absurd

They don't care
They'd kill for the money
Do or dare
The thrill for the money

You're saluting the flag
Your country trusts you
Now you're wearing a badge
You're called the 'Just few'

And you're fighting the wars
A soldier must do
I'll never betray or deceive
You my friend but

If you show me the cash
Then I will take it
If you tell me to cry
Then I will fake it
If you give me a hand
Then I will shake it
You do anything for money

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Insurance?
Where do your loyalties lie?
Is that your alibi?
I don't think so

You don't care
You do it for the money
Say it's fair
You sue her for the money

Want your pot of gold
Need the Midas touch
Bet you sell your soul
'Cause your God is such

You don't care
You kill for the money
Do or dare
The thrill for the money

Are you infected with the same disease
Of lust, gluttony and greed? then watch the one's
With the biggest smiles, the idle jabbers
'Cause they're the backstabbers

If you know it's a lie
Then you will swear it
If you give it with guilt
Then you will bear it
If it's taking a chance
Then you will dare it
You do anything for money

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

You say you wouldn't do it
For all the money in the world
I don't think so

If you show me the man
Then I will sell him
If you ask me to lie
Then I will tell him
If you're stealing with God
Then you will hell him
You do anything for money

Anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Anything, anything
Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Henry Vaccaro is mentioned in the contract.

Michael Jackson's History Sold for a Song
Pop Star’s History Sold for a Song Following Family’s Legal Drama
March 4

In a strange twist of fate, a New Jersey businessman hit the music world's jackpot — a warehouse stuffed with the King of Pop's personal belongings — and he got it for a song.

Henry Vaccaro said he never expected to get caught up in a legal battle with Michael Jackson's family. But he did, and in the end, he wound up with Jackson memorabilia that could be worth a small fortune.

Vaccaro says his story with the Jackson family began back in 1993, when, he says, the Jackson family failed to follow through on a deal to buy Vaccaro's guitar company.

Vaccaro said the family never paid him what they owed, and after years in the courtroom, the items of memorabilia became the focus of the legal drama.

Vaccaro says he managed to get the entire warehoused Jackson collection — thousands of items — after the Jackson family failed to pay a $60,000 bill for the storage of the items.

Vaccaro said he picked up the bill, and the case with the Jackson family was settled as he became the owner of the family's memorabilia.

The deal of a lifetime left a complete stranger owning the Jackson family's personal history.

‘Largest Private Collection’

"It's pretty big. It's the largest private collection in the world of Michael Jackson and Jackson family memorabilia," Vaccaro said on ABCNEWS' Good Morning America. "Well, you know, it's crazy … how they could let a complete stranger get all their personal possessions?"

Vaccaro's enormous collection had been displayed in a 6,000-square-foot section of a 50,000-square-foot warehouse. But the collection — which was only seen by outsiders on jacksonvault.com, a pay-per-view Web site — is on its way out of the United States, according to Vaccaro.

The collection has been sold to a mysterious overseas buyer, and will be shipped out of the country in just a matter of days

Why didn't Michael Jackson, the wealthiest and most famous member of the musical family, step in and stop this?

According to the pop star's spokesperson, Michael Jackson was shocked to find out that the warehouse contained some of his most personal items.

Jackson says he only gave his family permission to use this memorabilia for a theme restaurant they supposedly planned on opening.

Jackson wasn't directly involved in this legal battle, and he says he now wants to buy back his family's treasured possessions, according to his spokesperson.

Vaccaro says the collection includes Jackson family costumes, including one of Michael Jackson's earliest stage costumes with his name handwritten on the inside label. Vaccaro also has a photo of a young Jackson wearing that very costume.

Surprising and Private Items

While Vaccaro says he was excited to see the costumes and the gold and platinum records that came with the collection, he says he was surprised by the inclusion of very personal items — such as sketches, notes and a medical contract for surgery supposedly performed on Janet Jackson's nose.

"Yes, we have that contract … and I think Michael paid for the first plastic surgery," Vaccaro said.

Vaccaro said he also found another nose-related item in the collection — a sketchbook that contained several drawings of noses of various shapes and sizes.

Vaccaro also revealed sketches that he claims were signed by Michael Jackson. One is a sketch of a boy, titled "Little Boy 1994"; another is a sketch of Charlie Chaplin.

ABCNEWS checked with some handwriting experts on the signatures on some of the items. Not all of them agreed on whether Michael Jackson signed some of the items.

Vaccaro said he was also surprised by personal letters sent by the Jackson parents.

"A lot of intimate letters going back and forth," Vaccaro said. "I mean, you know, there's a letter from Joe Jackson to the producers of the Victory Tour book, where he approved the photographs of his children, but he wanted their skin tones to be 20 to 30 percent lighter in the finished product. That surprised me.

"There's also a letter from Mrs. Jackson complaining to the Jehovah's Witness Fellowship, because evidently they must have expelled Michael, and you know, she's really giving them hell," Vaccaro said.

The New Jersey businessman says Michael Jackson's legal problems only increased the value of the collection.

"It bought attention back to it because the initial sale had fallen apart, and then it was resurrected with his problems," Vaccaro said.

Jackson was charged in December with seven counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 and two counts of giving the child an "intoxicating agent," reportedly wine, between Feb. 7 and March 10, 2003. Jackson has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Vaccaro wouldn't say what his buyer paid for the collection, but he told ABCNEWS that he did very well.

More About The 273 Jackson Master Tapes
7/03/2010
It's been reported in the media that Howard Mann, Katherine Jackson's new business partner bought a warehouse of Jackson memorablia including 273 tapes of unreleased Jackson songs.

According to my information these are the same memorablias as owned by Henry Vaccaro, who is in several litigations over the items. Vaccaro claims in a June 30th, 2010 court paper that his company (Vintage Associates LLC) still owns the property. He most likely owns the above mentioned master tapes as well, as a result of a 2009 settlement with it's previous holder.

This means that Mann couldn't buy the songs, but most likely teamed up with Vaccaro and others to exploit the warehouse's content. For that purpose three new entities has been setup in California (VINTAGE POP MEDIA GROUP, LLC - VINTAGE POP MEDIA MUSIC, LLC - VINTAGE POP MEDIA ONLINE, LLC). No information on the exact ownership of these companies.

Vintage Pop Projects - Updates
8/15/2010
Few weeks ago I wrote about who is behind one of the recent Jackson Family projects. Now I have more information on this business venture.

As I talked about it many times in the past, the biggest Jackson Family memorabilia collection is owned by a New Jersey businessman, named Henry Vaccaro. He took over the items after years of litigations with the Jacksons over a failed business venture. It is a very complicated and sad story. MJ's lawyers went through all the items at least two times over the years to remove all the personal items of MJ, as a family member who wasn't involved in the lawsuits. Though the collection still consists some of old stuff.

Despite recent media reports, Vaccaro still claims ownership over all the items. He somehow teamed up with a Canadian businessman, named Howard Mann and set up at least 3 entities in California to present the public with the items through different ways, and of course earn good money on them.

Mann got in touch with Katherine and Joe, and got their approval on using the items. It was an important move for Vaccaro and Mann, because having the Jackson parents on their side protected them from the Estate's public and legal battle. Mann set up a company along with Katherine and Joe in Delaware called "Never Can Say Goodby LLC" for the purpose of releasing a book full of old pictures, a calendar and other merchandises. Recently they attached a DVD interview with Katherine to the book.

It is very clear that Vaccaro and Mann are violating MJ's rights owned only by his Estate. They might own items related to MJ, but they can not sell his image for money. And they know it. The whole structure of the companies owned by them, the fact that they involved the Jackson parents, and that Vaccaro could not do any money out of the collection over the years prooves that. But most importantly a recent legal action against a website, called MichaelJacksonCasino.com. Their lawyer unnecessary refers to a previous legal battle between Vaccaro and MJ in the documents. On other parts they refer to the Estate as a similar entity to theirs. The only reason why they do it is to make clear for the Estate, "you can not do anything with us", and to plaint in the public that they are also owners of any MJ related rights. Come on, who cares about a stupid whitelabel casino website that's been there for years? Once they successfully defend MJ's rights on court, they will be able to pretend like an other legal entity to explore MJ's likeness.

Vintage Pop Media vs. MichaelJacksonCasino.com Case Dismissed
9/04/2010
On August 31, 2010 the Judge presiding in the case said the followings: "Plaintiff’s complaint appears to relate to what has been called the mortgage crisis in our country. Many similar complaints have been filed in this Court. Based on what has
occurred in those cases, the Court is concerned that (1) all parties to the case receive a proper review of their claims in court, (2) no party is forced to spend unnecessary time
and expense on this case, and (3) there is compliance with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, including Rule 11(b). The Court orders the following to achieve these goals and to avoid an early, unfair dismissal with prejudice."

Three day later Vintage Pop Media asked for a dismissal in the case. Now say if this case was good for anything but getting your 15 minutes of fame.

Thank you for posting this interesting information. I have to wonder what purpose Michael has, if any, in allowing this to happen? Because it says that Michael has had a previous legal fight with Vaccaro.

Is it to get his name back out there to the fans? Is it part of the hoax or just a byproduct? He's not profiting from this, only his mom. Right?

Serenity thank you for posting this.

I can not believe any of these.
This is crazy.
This can't be happening for real.

If it is true, then I really must say I don't understand the Jacksons.
I still hope it's ALL fiction.

The question in my mind is....WHY is so much more money needed?  The estate supposedly cleared all the debts (even paid themselves), they paid off the Hayvenhurst home and the school tuition for the kids.  So why is the monthly allowance not enough?   I realize to an extent some of the other Jackson siblings and Joseph may be pinching Katherine for money...but even this seems extreme. :?

It makes me wonder who or what the money is really for ;)

Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars? Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, "I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight," people would say, "Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a single word that comes out of his mouth."

In Katherine's interview which is on DVD (which comes with the book, Never Can Say Goodbye), she says in that interview that all the proceeds from the book are going to charity because that is what Michael would have wanted.

So I guess it comes down who do you believe and what should you BeLIEve ;)

On page 6 of the contract, why is it dated and signed on the 3rd of February 2009.    BEFORE Michael "died"??  Or am I reading it wrong?
