Jackson 5 Launch Clothing Line


Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy Jackson, and Michael Jackson's estate, are launching a clothing line called J5, WWD reports. The first collection will hit stores -- including Urban Outfitters and Kitson -- come spring and will include replicas of the leather jackets Michael wore in the "Thriller" and "Beat It" videos for about $600 and a series of t-shirts priced from $32 to $58.

Jackie Jackson told WWD, "The jackets are incredible. They are the real thing. I didn't really think of them as tributes to Michael in the beginning, but that's what they are. They represent everything he stood for and everything he's done in this industry, 100 percent."

He added, "I've been wanting to do this for a long time. I've seen other friends be successful with their lines, like Puffy with Sean John. I've been in this business for a long time and our name is known around the world."

The brothers started working on the duds a week after Michael's funeral. They're planning to add footwear and glasses in the future.

That's funny, because if you remember in V for Vendetta towards the end, all citizens were dressed like V, including the mask and whig, they looked like an army of V's cones. Did I mention army?  8-)   Yeah, the Army of L.O.V.E. comes immediately to mind.  

 What if we soldiers of L.O.V.E. all dressed like Mike and looked like thousands of his replicas ? :lol:

:lol: I'd definitely do it if I had an extra $600! When they say they started working on the line a week after the funeral do they mean the memorial or the actual funeral?? Cuz I know the media uses the two words interchangeably.

OMG, they are REALLY trying to extract as much juice from this FAKE orange as they can. They are determined to resusitate their careers now that they're relevant again. Jackie attempted to launch a clothing line once before and it was a bust.  Maybe that's because these jackets weren't part of it. Can't stop laughing.

That's exactly what came to mind too when I read this. It's too bad the red jacket wasn't a little more affordable for ordinary people, or I'd love one. But millions of MJ sunglasses could be shipped around the world in boxcars full. :lol:

It's odd that the brothers would push a clothing line of jackets MJ wore once he started his solo career. Thriller and Beat It have nothing to do with J5. But nobody would buy stuff the brothers wore.
