The Jackson family has come out with a limited edition of T-shirts and leather jackets to commemorate the legacy of the first family of music. The collection will sport vintage images with trendy cuts and lines, according to the official website for the collection.

The Jackson five includes brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy and Michael. With over 150 million albums sold worldwide and having introduced the greatest artiste of all-time, this collection is reflective of the brothers' legacy and the inspiration of music on fashion, says the website.

The collection comes at troubled times for the family with the release of Breaking News, a song from the posthumous CD of the same name of Michael's songs. The family claims that the voice is not that of the singer. There are counterclaims in the media and by Michael fans that the family is allegedly exploiting Michael's legacy - both his music and children - for personal gain.

The J5 Collection offers 24 varying vintage images dating from the 60's, such as the Jackson 5's first newspaper article, to the 70's Afro funk graphics, to the official art from the 80's biggest concert tour, the 1984 world Victory Tour. The collection also has exact replicas of  Michael Jackson's Thriller and Beat It jackets. They are reproduced down to the last detail. The Thriller design is in red and Beat it in red and white. The starting price for both the jackets is $900.

T-shirts for both men and women are in the range of $45-$55. The collection had a soft launch in August at the Project Trade Show and will be now available in select boutiques and department stores. Select merchandise is available already on the website.

The Jackson legacy does not come without its brickbats. There is a strong feeling that some members of the family are exploiting Michael Jackson's name to make money. Online communities have written open letters to some members of the Jackson family asking them to stop exploiting Michael's name and children for personal gain.

The say the use and brokering of Michael Jackson's children to promote events, merchandise and interviews should not be allowed. They even do not want the children to appear for the Oprah interview and want them to stop streamlining videos of the children on YouTube.

They also claim that the release of Opis None - a 1978 Destiny recording presented as a new unreleased track 'is a deliberate attempt to sabotage the estate's release of the song Breaking News from Michael Jackson's first posthumous CD and mislead his fans.'

The family on its part says the song Breaking News is not in Michaels' voice, although some of the songs are original.
