Joe Jackson -- Back Away from the Oprah!

Oprah Winfrey's personal space was violated during her visit to the Jackson house last week -- and TMZ has learned the culprit was none other than Papa Joe himself.

Sources close to the Big O tell TMZ Joe was all over the talk show queen when she came over to conduct a sit-down interview with the family at their Encino home.

We're told Joe was tailing Oprah all over the house -- almost like a second shadow -- so Oprah's assistant stepped in and asked the guy to back off.

Joe obliged, we're told -- and kept a polite distance for the rest of the visit.

Personal space -- it's not a joke.

There is a lot to read into this if it were true, but we need to remember that TMZ is posting a story told to them by someone else. Did they check this story out to make sure it's fact? I don't think so.

At any rate, this is Oprah who goes to war torn countries and hugs starving, sick, people. This is Oprah who goes into the audience and jumps up and down in excitement with them while holding their hands. So, I really don't buy the personal space issue as I believe Oprah herself would have intervened if there was a problem. And...she was in Mr Jackson's home, not the other way around. Just saying...

The ending [Personal space -- it's not a joke.] says a lot and hopefully TMZ and the rest of the media will take note and practice what they write. TMZ - if you read this, quit pointing fingers at others faults until you can practice the same respect.

You see Joe put his hand on Oprah's shoulder, which speaks to me of apparant compassion but suggesting he's in control. It reminds me of 2 places we see Michael do that, he puts his hand on the shoulder of a soldier in the Brazil TDRCAU, and in the 2005 court case he puts his hand on a security gaurd's shoulder as he goes into the building. All the Jacksons, especially MJ, are commanding this show/army.
