DILEO organised Concert Dates for MJ in Caribbean?? wth?

Concert promoter Citadel Limited Tuesday has sued Michael Jackson's former manager Frank DiLeo, RadarOnline.com has learned, on accusations the King of Pop's manager kept $300,000 the company paid as a fee for performances the late entertainer was slated to make in Trinidad and Tobago months after his June 2009 death.

DiLeo and a number of associates are named in the suit, which was filed in Los Angeles on August 24. Citadel Limited claims that DiLeo or his associates, personally accepted the fees, which Citadel Limited paid via wire from April 2009 through June 2009.

Sadly, Michael Jackson died weeks later on June 25, 2009 after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest in Los Angeles.

According to Citadel Limited, the contract stated: "If there is a cancellation due to any circumstances that are beyond the control of the Artist, Company, or Purchaser, a make-up date will be discussed for the canceled events or full refund will be issued if acceptable date is not agreed upon."

Citadel Limited said that DiLeo has "refused, and continue to refuse" to repay the $300,000.

This is the first ive heard of dates in the Caribbean.. and how would MJ have done these to fit around TII in London?

The whole thing is crazy...   it makes my head spin, especially as Thome was supposed to be MJs manager up until the final weeks...  so how did Dileo have the time to organise these?

I think so but maybe that was the other concert that Dileo agreed to with Allgood Entertainment. I wonder why this place waited until now to file a suit - have they been trying to get the money back this whole time? Good thing Michael isn't named in that lawsuit...

DiLeo addressed this situation himself in the Raffles interview. He said that what these companies that sue with these kinds of claims are referring to wanting refunded is a non-refundable style booking fee. I don't remember his exact words but the idea is that a company offers says $300,000 to sit down and make a proposal to Michael Jackson for performance or series of performances. So essentially thy pay for the privilege of being considered. They were considered, and rejected (essentially). There is no contract because that step would come much later. So they end up all being BS lawsuits that are just a hassle.

Murray:

He was born in St. Andrews, Grenada, and lived his first seven years with his maternal grandparents. The lawyers’ statement does not mention his parents’ relationship, but notes he did not meet his father, a doctor, until 1978, when he was 25.

Murray later moved to Trinidad and Tobago, where he joined his mother and stepfather. He was educated there and worked as a schoolteacher in Trinidad, a customs clerk and insurance underwriter before turning to medicine.

TMZ reported that carnival

photos were taken in 2005 during a two-week trip to Trinidad and Tobago. He was down there with a few of his close guy friends -- and a few attractive female friends as well.
