Like when MJ was a kid entering the dog-eat-dog of adult world entertainment and found how cruel the world can be, it may be what's in store for other child stars.

Justin Beiber, born in Ontario, Canada to a single Christian mother, discovered on YouTube, mentored by Usher, now 16. Bieber was signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher. He has sung for Barach Obama, is now on his tour called MY World Tour, his account is said to have 4.5 million followers. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Target for criticism and pranksters
Bieber has often been criticized for being younger looking than his age, effeminacy, his teen pop music, image, and frequent media attention.[55] For these reasons as well as many others, Bieber has been a frequent target for internet bloggers and message board posters — notably by users of internet message board 4chan, users of YouTube, and various Facebook groups. Pranks have included a successful campaign to push "Justin Bieber Syphilis" to the top of the Google Trends Hot Searches list; hacked YouTube videos that were altered so as to redirect users to adult websites or trigger pop-up messages saying that Bieber had been killed in a car accident; his Last.fm photograph being changed to pornographic images; various rumors circulated, from rumors that Bieber had died, joined a cult, or even that his mother was offered $50,000 to pose topless in Playboy magazine — none of which was true.[56] This all forced the companies affected to update their security protocols to reverse the damage, and Bieber himself tweeted to fans reassuring them that he was still living and that false rumors about his mother "just grossed and weirded me out."[56]

Most notable was the campaign to send Bieber to the Juche state of North Korea as part of his world tour (entitled My World Tour).[56] This was done in part by 4chan users voting for the country on the tour's website, for the free competition to nominate a bonus country for the tour — the second place country being Israel, which presumably was voted for by Israelis genuinely wishing to attend the concert.[56] It is highly unlikely that Bieber would actually be given permission by the North Korean government, or concert organizers and management to even enter the country.[56] Universal Music Group has denied any involvement in a poll that became the target of an online prank. A spokesperson for UMG told BBC News that it was a "hoax" but declined to give any further comment.[57]

Explanations as to why Bieber has been targeted include his success at such a young age, and ultra-trendy image; Nick Collins of The Daily Telegraph speculated that "Bieber's character also appears to strike a particularly sour note with his internet critics, with many remarks commenting on his youthful appearance, his teen-pop songs, his image as a heart-throb to young teenage girls and his manner of speech".[58]
Sounds like MJ's sad early history that never stopped. Then there's a possible newcomer in CJ Rappa, a kid who recently appeared on America's Got Talent. I thought he was pretty good, but apparently got voted off, which is not the end of his career. Sounds like it's just taking off according to YouTube hits. He has major attitude and is funny too.  And I was blown away by his MJ moonwalk and MJ body dance moves for 11 years old--very cute!   You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Justin Bieber is old news. I mean OLD. Like one foot in the graveyard old. He’s what…16 years old now?

It’s time to replace him before he’s ready for a Mach 3 Turbo Titanium razor, so let me introduce you to 11-year-old playah CJ Dippa. He’s a sixth grade rapper/dancer veteran who has been rapping for the past eight years, and got his big break with a period-inducing audition on America’s Got Talent on Saturday. But don’t be so fast to draw comparisons to that fossil Eminem. He says: “The only difference between me and Eminem… Eminem don’t dance!”
Remember that Nigel said the purpose for all of this is to find the next Michael Jackson, and I don't think that is possible. I'm sure MJ's watching and thinking, you poor kids, you don't know the price of fame. But I think he would have enjoyed mentoring them.

Why can't they just leave it alone, he WAS/IS/WILL ALWAYS BE the BEST. Let him go down in history that way! Why are they constantly looking for the NEXT MJ? It's stupid, it's pointless & it's annoying! GRRR..this BS annoys the crap out of me, whenever something or someone is successful they always have to try to recreate it, WHY? How about the NEXT MEGA-SUPERSTAR who last 40+ years in the music biz. NOT the next MICHAEL JACKSON!

Michael is the complete package and more. We might go a thousand years more (if us and this world hold up) until someone as unique as him steps on the scene. But there will never be a duplicate.

I hate this, there will NEVER EVER be a "next" MJ. Just shut up! MJ will be the ONLY MJ, stop trying to find a replacement.

To me, I feel like they are trying to take away from his legacy by doing that. It's like they're saying, Michael comes a dime a dozen, we can find another one. They don't realize just HOW much he's done. He was an AMAZING dancer, an INCREDIBLE singer, a musical GENIUS, a PRODIGY, an INNOVATOR, a HUMBLE person, a LOVING person, he cared about HUMANITY, the EARTH, CHILDREN, ANIMALS, everything. He has donated to the most charities EVER. He was one of the greatest humanitarians this world has known all while being the GREATEST ENTERTAINER & the King of Pop. So no, another MJ cannot be found because no matter how far you travel you will never find someone who possesses ALL of his qualities. There may be people who can sing or dance like him but to be on his level, you have to do everything else he did for the world. You have to break records & last 40+ years & last through as much as he has. They need to be searching for another great star who can make a mark in entertainment history LIKE Michael did, but to look for the NEXT Michael is pointless & disrespectful to his legacy. He worked hard for it, there is no one with the work ethic or drive or star quality that he's possessed since he was 5 years old! He wasn't forced or pressured to be able to sing or dance, it all came naturally, he was born with talent. He had more talent in his pinky finger than most of the artists out today. He accomplished more in his life & career before he was even 18 than most people have done in their whole lives. How often have you heard of that happening? Oh & let's not forget his upbringing, he was born in a low income area, his parents struggled, they were poor & they beat the odds. He's the first person I've ever heard accomplish what he has from childhood with a start like that & I'm sure he'll be the last because I have yet to see anyone come out that even has an ounce of potential.

Hi Guyz
They are doing everything to replace Michael ...

I saw a news story on Yahoo titled "check out the candidates for the post of King of Pop." How can so many?? Because this rabble, without talent, no voice, no charisma, no nothing ...  THINKING ABOUT REPLACING MICHAEL? Sorry if have fans of them here, but I can not avoid.
Why not think about replacing Elvis?? Michael has to have a substitute?? Even more for these singers: 50 Cent, Usher, Justin Timberlake ... falses ... The people that this 50 Cent said he wants to be compared to Michael and said that when die just do not want the part of child molester. And what about Usher ... very friend of Michael, said it is the better candidate ...
Look at this news site: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. .

Justin Bieber until this is cute, but being compared to Michael, gets to be ridiculous!
Sorry for the rant!
Nobody will ever overcome King Michael!! :?  :?

"Tell the angels no... Heaven can wait"!

I have been avoiding this thread because in my mind there is no discussion or even the slightest chance of changing my mind through discussion. But, I wandered in here anyway and am glad to see that you all feel the same way I do.

Two things that differ between Michael Jackson and everyone else in the world today:

1) A lot of artists today imitate Michael in some way. While this is flattering, they aren't being very original. Michael is an original. That is what sets him apart from the rest of the crowd.

Michael Jackson wasn't looking to replace anyone when he started out with the J5....he was just being himself and trying to be the best he could be. He studied the greats but made his own style out of what he learned. He wasn't looking to replace James Brown.

Why are artists today wanting to be the next Michael Jackson? Why can't they be themselves and if that ends up being bigger and better (no way IMO) than it's an honest accomplishment.

2) Michael didn't make himself the King of Pop. I know it's been said that this is self-proclaimed but I don't think that is accurate. Someone can prove me wrong if I am. Anyway, the title was appropriately given to him by another person in the entertainment industry. And the reason that it stuck is because the title matched the person. He didn't go audition for the title and he didn't set out to be that title. He set out to be the best at what he did and in doing so he became the best and therefore became the King of Pop.

So, if the title is given to one who naturally displays the ability why are they giving it away as though it's a trophy that is won on a yearly basis? All of these Oscars, etc., are given to someone each year. But, the King of Pop is only given once a lifetime. Just like the King of Rock is Elvis and the King of Soul is James Brown. Never will I think of anyone else holding these titles either. They are irreplaceable.

Lady Diana was given the title of "The People's Princess". That title fit her so well. I'd like to see anyone even mention that Camilla is now "The People's Princess". Camilla is wise enough to know better than to even attempt that. She has a place in history but The People's Princess will always be Diana. The same with Michael Jackson - he will always be The King of Pop. They need to quit being so disrespectful to him and his legacy.

Now see why I was trying to stay away from this subject? LOL

"Press coverage of my life is like [watching] a fictitious movie...like watching science fiction. It's not true." ~Michael Jackson (2005)

"You should not believe everything you read. You are missing the most important revelations". Craig Harvey 3-15-2012

There will NEVER be another Michael Jackson........  NO ONE will even come close to the magic he created.  NO ONE will ever come close to the voice, his dance, his creativity, and the depth of his soul.
Anyone can try but like I said never, ever, ever come close to being like the KING OF POP.
He mastered it all...and that is pure genious.  Once in a lifetime someone comes along who has it all............His name is Michael Jackson, end of story... :D
