FBI Torpedoes John Lennon Auction Item
10/6/2010 11:00 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

John Lennon's application for U.S. residency has been yanked from auction after the FBI put its foot down ... this according to the auction house.

A rep for the Rock & Roll Pop Culture Auction tells TMZ ... "The item has been under investigation by the FBI because it is considered government property."

We're told the auction house has now pulled the document. Too bad ... word is the starting bid was for $100,000.

So far ... no comment from the FBI but an official from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services tells TMZ, "There is currently an investigation regarding the John Lennon documents in the auction and it's being headed by the FBI."

Hmmm, interesting.  I know that the U.S. government tried kicking John Lennon out of the country numerous times, but John just kept appealing so he was allowed to stay in - as long as his case was appealing.  John Lennon stated on the record that he thought the U.S. government was tapping his phone and were trying to get rid of him...  I think the official reason they were trying to kick him out of the country was an old marijuana or hash charge but the real reason was probably because John Lennon promoted peace and love and protested the war in Vietnam.  His songs were the anthems played and sang at anti-war protests - Give Peace a Chance, All You Need Is Love, etc.  Wonder what the FBI are trying to hide by taking this item off the auction block?

I was mentioning on the other thread "somebody leaving his fingerprints" on the pictures we are constantly being presented by TMZ.
And then TMZ sneaks around the corner with some fingerprints.

Harvey, sincere thanks for your consideration.

Wasn't there somewhere in the "Back" thread that fans asked on a forum for Mike to wear certain stuff, and then later he was photographed wearing that exact thing? Something with a regular jeans and a cartoon T-shirt or something. Maybe we can ask TMZ for articles? In that case, I would like to see, let's say... a gallery with men in suits, with the good, the bad and the ugly. 8-)

So TMZ published the story first again?   Why the word Torpedoes?

Nothing to do with this thread but these videos of John Lennon are worth watching if you're so inclined.  He spoke for what he believed in and like Michael, he used his celebrity to talk about what's important.

Thank you for Andrea publishes, but everything what it is possible to say and publish of John Lenon is very important, is a way of dealing for which not this one with us, to imagine if this man was alive nowadays, with all these wars and all the injustices that exist in this world, serious which his message. ;)

The best part of the second video I posted is right near the end.  John Lennon is talking about overpopulation.

John Lennon: "I don't believe overpopulation you know, I think that's just a kind of myth the government has thrown out to keep your mind of Vietnam and Ireland and all the important subjects."

The host (Dick Cavett): "Oh I think you're wrong about that."

John Lennon: "Oh I don't care."

I really love that man!
