The first post content

I finally added some more BBCodes and this post is to explain what they are and how to use them in your post.

Please note that this is for the longer posts or to highlight important pieces in your post, not to make this board look like a circus if you know what I mean. I will explain them all below, please use the preview button before you submit your post when you use the BBCodes to see if you all used them the right way. If you wanna test stuff out, please to so in this thread.

Let's start with the B BBCode, the first one listed. This one makes the selected text bold. If you click the button, you see this:  All text you will put between and will be bold. If you want to make parts in your post bold after you typed the complete post, simply select the text that you want to be bold and click the B button.

Example: Michael Jackson is alive

The i button and the u button work the same and makes your text italic and/or underlined.

Example: Michael Jackson is alive
Example: Michael Jackson is alive

The quote button makes a quote of your text when you are not quoting an earlier comment in the thread:

QuoteMichael Jackson is alive

Same with the Code button, which makes it easy for others to select a part of your text to copy and paste it for instance for other uses:

Michael Jackson is alive

The List button works as TAB:

    Michael Jackson is alive

And the list= button should tab and number lines if you put 1 or a behind the =, but unfortunatelly that code doesn't work.

We will skip the
  • button, since that one doesn't work either. Then we have the Img button. Most will know how it works, yet I still see many people add pics as an attachment. That slows down the board so I urge everyone to use pictures from the internet and use the Img button.

A picture can be 700 pixels wide maximum, so if a picture you found is too big, simply resize it in paint, upload it to tinypic or something like that and use the image url and the Img button.

The URL button will make sure that an url you post will actually link to that particular url.

Well then you can resize yor text from tiny to huge and change your font color, I guess everyone will get that by now.

The YouTube button is to make your posted YouTubes show in the thread, instead of just the link. The code looks like this:
and in between you need to paste the complete url of the video as it shows in your browser, for example:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aEdGe_u9iQ

The background= button is to highlight certain parts of your post. The code is: [background=][/background] and between  [background=] and [/background] should be the text you want to highlight, yet you must not forget to name the desired color of your highlight after the =, for instance: [background=yellow][/background]

    Example: Michael Jackson is [background=yellow]alive![/background]

The center button will center the part you select:

    Michael Jackson is alive

And the right button puts your text on the right (how logical)

    Michael Jackson is alive

The font= button will allow you to change the font of your post, again by naming the desired font after the =, same as with the background button.[/font]

The Google= button is the most fun, it will allow us finally to also post Google videos here. This is the code:
    [google=][/google]

And all you do is paste the complete url of the google video after the =. You don't have to add anything between [google=] and [/google].

    Example:

    [google=http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2193623380699206358#][/google]

The hr button will devide parts of your post by a horizontal ruler, like I did in this post. All you do is type hr between
and [/hr] and you've got yourself a line.

The s button will create a line-through your selected text:

    Michael Jackson is dead alive

So please practise in this thread, make it a circus, but only use it for the right purposes on new threads or I have to take the codes down again.[/font][/color]

HI!
I still can't find the button for active topics...
Not recent posts, because I have to go through all of them to find the one I want.
Say I want TS' July 7 thread and don't have time to go through all the steps to get to it...or search...
Or say I don't know the name of the thread, but have been following it everyday...it's active.
We used to have a button at the top for that.

Am I missing it?  Because that is how I used the site..Active topics (?)/threads(?).  other than that, I'd search for a word for old things.

I really am not using this site now...just looking til it gets up and running.  I'm sure it was tons and tons of work and I wish I knew how to do it all.  I am intrigued by it all.

I just have no patience for step taking, or searching and LOVED to use that button and think I"m missing something. :)

oooh and does anyone get "user banned" from chat?  I try again and get on though :)

Thanks Souza.

One thing I have never been able to figure out is how to post a TMZ story so that when someone clicks the title of the story here on the Forum it takes you to the TMZ webpage and the story.

I was trying to do it with the recent Conrad Murray Baby Mama Impostor story I posted today but I was doing something wrong - it went to TMZ but said story wasn't found. I'm not sure if it's one of the codes I need to use?

Could you please outline here how to do this?

Cheers.

@ Adi,

just insert the hyperlink code. It's the code with the globus and the paper. Copy the url of the page you need to link your post with and paste it between the two codes . That's it   :)

OK thanks diggyon

.......testing testing testing....here goes....I'll do the baby mama story again to see (I'll try just the story title - I assume I still need to copy and paste the picture and the text - but I won't do it again here):

DR. CONRAD MURRAY
HARASSED in Jail
By MJ Baby Mama Impostor

Cool......that works - I get it now. Thanks!

Oh boy, just saw this post.

I´ll try to do my best to get the posts clean. However, the quote function does not work for me since ages and need to quote using "-"

I believe that it is my PC because at times can´t even scroll posts up or down.

Michael pls come back
